Rated 4 out of 5 by Jay44 Dishonest housekeeping staff
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel for 2 nights as it was pleasant and conveniently located within the historic district. Easily within walking distance of restaurants and attractions. Very clean and well appointed small hotel perfect for a stay in the city and reasonably priced. No need to drive your rental car around the city as walking was very pleasant.
I checked out very early on a Friday morning and had left a shopping bag on the bed with several items inside and receipts for the items purchased. I am 1000% sure the bag was left at the hotel in the room I stayed. Housekeeping denied ever finding my bag. This left a very bad taste in my mouth as the staff was very dishonest in not turning in my bag to lost and found. My stay was for leisure and also my first visit to Savannah to plan a family reunion. I will be planning a family reunion in Savannah and felt very good about booking all the rooms at the Four Points. Because of this incident I will not be spending a dollar at this hotel in the future and neither will any of my friends and family. Thousands of dollars in hotel revenue lost because of dishonest housekeeping staff!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Allen38 Dirtiest Room I Have Ever Stayed In
Wasted starpoints and suite upgrades on a room in which the walls and curtains were covered with dust that looked to have accumulated over the past month or so.. Thankfully we weren't in the room much, but on the third night we came back early to change before going out, when I moved the curtain I noticed all the collected dust and then happened to look up at the walls and see all the dust that was sticking to the wall and the box above the window.. I called the next morning and 'manager' came to the room and apologized profusely and said she would refund my starpoints.. looked today and they only refunded one night, as a platinum member they should have all been returned as promised and my suite upgrades for putting me in such a disgusting room.. should have known it was gonna be dirty when we walked in and the room had a musty odor.. additionally, the air conditioner didn't work properly.. place charges $15 to park your car in an open unsecured lot next door, day we left lady was having pictures taken of her door where someone had tried to use a crowbar or some other device to try and break into her minivan.. at least the location was close to river st and city market..

Rated 2 out of 5 by Peggy54 Be sure to ask about additional charges...
Beware of bait and switch tactics at this hotel.
I stayed here one night with a friend while traveling trough Georgia. After speaking to a person in reservations by phone and another in person while checking in, no mention was made of an additional $15 for valet parking and $10 for breakfast. Both people we spoke to mentioned valet parking and breakfast, but failed to mention there was an additional charge for these items. In fact the girl that checked us in pointed out where breakfast was served and the time, but failed to say anything about cost. There were no signs indicating a charge for breakfast. We only found out after we sat down to eat and found out about parking cost after check-in when we went to park. You would think a hotel of this quality would include the option of a free continental breakfast like most hotels do.
There is very little parking in this area, My friend finally found a spot across the street after driving around for 30 minutes. We are by no means cheap. We just like to know the cost up front, instead of being surprised later. Because of what I feel were bait and switch tactics, I will not stay at this hotel again, nor will I recommend it to my friends.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bbpalmer Horriable experience
This was the worst hotel stay I have experience in a long time.. The house keepers were very unprofessional I could hear them shouting down the hall to each other early in the morning while I was trying to sleep! The front desk staff was very professional and accommodating.Other than the unprofessional house keepers,I was over charged on my credit card was not inform that I there would be a $50 auth hold on my card per night. I called the day after I checked out and spoke to a Shanecka on 10/31 and went over the charges with her and she explain the auth charges after I called in and the actually charges that I would be billed for which was $71 in change which I agreed to but I check my credit card this morning and I was charged an additional $134 of charges that posted to by credit card! I called again and spoke to a Miguel who reviewed the reservation and realize that I was double billed for two nights to my credit card with new holds. Miguel ensured me that the issue will be taken care of,... This entire experience has turn me off from wanting to do business or bring business to this location ever again. Please note this is a first and last time that I would stay at this property

Rated 2 out of 5 by DCMeetingPlanner Beautiful Lobby but the Buck Stops There
This hotel is conveniently located in downtown Savannah. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful old hardwood floors, lots of moldings, filled with Southern charm. When you walk in, you get the feeling that you are in quite the upscale hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive, full of hospitality too. However, once you get up to the guest floors, you are in for a big surpirse. The carpeting in the common areas on floors 3 and 4 (the two floors I saw during my stay) is absolutely filthy and needs to be ripped out and replaced. The rooms could use a good freshening up as well in terms of soft goods. Upon checking in, I had to switch rooms because the first room was not cleaned well and had a horrible odor. The second room was much cleaner but still had a faint musty odor due to the window heating/ac units that probably need to be updated as well. The other problem is there is ZERO sound proofing in the property. If another guest slams their hotel room door, the walls will shake in the room you are staying in.
Its a shame the owners don't spend the extra money to upgrade the property because it's conveniently located to lots of great places in Savannah, particularly Ellis Square.

Rated 1 out of 5 by livesinhotels Poorly trained staff
I've seen many hotels around the system being an SPG Platinum member. A few things happened to me here that I have never encountered at any hotel brand ever. I flew into Savannah after having travelled day and night from Hawaii. With jet lag and 6 time zones of adjustment, I arrived at 2:30am. I was looking forward to some rest. 5 hours later at 7:30am, my room phone rings constantly, but I'm too tired to get up. An hour later this occurs again, so I get up to answer and find it's the front desk asking about my reservation! They could have waited until my noon check-out to resolve my issue. I complained about disturbing guests in their rooms and the front desk person tried to turn it around and said he was only trying to help me! Who disturbs a guest at 7:30am?! The next day I requested a later 2pm checkout. I was told it was fine. At 12 noon, I heard commotion outside my door as the housekeeper was demanding the room next to mine open up and let her in to clean. 30 minutes later at 12:30, she pounds hard on my door, even though my "Do Not Disturb" sign was up. I pointed out the sign to her and asked why she was bothering me. She said she has instructions to knock on any door starting at noon. Unbelievable. You could hear her terrorizing the entire floor. There is no self parking, even though it's a Four Points. Valet was $15/day. I would never return to this hotel again, considering all the other choices available in this charming city.
