As I am often in NY on art business, i had the good fortune to stay at the Four Points Hotel as it is placed within the visual and literary environs of Chelsea, NYC. My initial stay was by referral and the experiences of my room aesthetics as well as the friendly and attentive behavior of staff greatly influenced my second visit. Upon leaving, I mentioned that a return in the spring and looked forward to the Four Points Hotel as home while in NYC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Larkbet Wonderful staff, service and location...
Upon arriving at the hotel after a grueling flight , we were greeted by the most pleasant staff. We were swiftly checked in and guided over to the complimentary Happy Hour...
As we went up to our room, the staff presented us with lovely cupcakes to enjoy later. We then went to our newly refurbished room with the most comfortable beds and modern decor. Internet, gym, restaurant, everything needed was there!! Great morning coffee in the lobby, too!

This hotel is nice as I have been coming for over 7 years now. 5 years ago we met Jennifer a the front desk and she is wery good in taking care of us. Jennifer is alwaysready to assist and kind in helping us and others. Even with difficult clients, (you know the one you can never make happy) she is patient, polite and proffessional. This is the staff that you keep and promote. We are cetrain that Jennifer will be the manager in the near future.

We stayed at the Four Points for 6 nights and were happy with the hotel, front desk were nice and helpful and the free wi-fi and water bottles are great. The Westside Brewhouse was the best part of our stay, after a long day in the city we decided to eat in their restaurant and were so glad we did. The food was very great, the salmon was really nice and my husband said the cobb salad was the nicest salad he has tried. My 13 year old son was travelling with us and was delighted to be able to watch the basketball game on the great row of televisions behind the bar and liked the nachos so much we ended up eating here two nighs in a row.. The owner of the pub Brenden made us feel very welcome and when we mentioned we wanted to see a baseball game while in NY he was able to help us out with tickets to the game which was the highlight of our trip.

I was hooked the moment I met the front desk clerk. She was kind, efficient and warm. She made me feel like a welcome guest. The same level of service was provided by the bartenders and night clerk.
My room was clean. The hotel design was cool and the location was ideal.
I will stay in this hotel again. To add credibilty to my comments, please know that I have traveled at least 50% of the time for 20 years...that is a lot of hotels.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CMHALI Only in NY
I've stayed at several Four Points across the country. They're the bargain basement of the Starwood hotels, but typically clean and comfortable. I should have known that in NY, it would also mean VERY VERY SMALL! My only other complaint was the towels. They were as old/used as the towels you get at a cheap gym. One plus that I didn't take advantage of was the free Billy's Bakery cupcake upon arrival. It's my favorite Bakery in town!

Rated 1 out of 5 by maxadelic I paid full price while you were renovating?
I was really disappointed in my stay, as you were renovating and that created major disruptions for me. The hotel stunk, and the smell permeated into my room on the third floor. I asked the staff to move me, which they did, to the 19th floor, where it still stunk, but a little less. The gym was closed, the lobby was freezing (and dirty) and i honestly don't know how you can expect us to pay full price with that kind of disruption.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pammko Great area!
This hotel is in a great area! Lots of up and coming restaurants, bars and fun spots. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Downside is the rooms are small and the lighting in the rooms is terrible. Bathrooms are so small it is difficult to get ready. Restaurant for breakfast is super slow, but the waiters are so nice it was hard to get mad. Just plan ahead for extra time. The coffee in the restaurant was really, really good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CChan247 Good Location; Good Deal
This is a pretty decent hotel. It is by no means a fancy one with all the amenities, but it has everything one would need. I would recommend this hotel if travelling on somewhat of a budget. I paid $300/night for a room with 2 doubles - this is not bad for NY standards, and it is in a good location in Chelsea.
There is also an Irish pub downstairs. I did not get a chance to eat/drink there, but it was nice to have the option.

I had had knee surgery while staying at the hotel and the staff went over and above to make my stay comfortable and assist my recovery. They went so far as to bring a small freezer up to my room so that I could keep my ice packs frozen. They really were fantastic...and the bed was wonderful! A wonderful stay despite my surgery - highly recommend this hotel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Zcip Second Stay within a month
I like the hotel location so much that I decided to stay there again on a return trip to NY. Normally I swtich up my stays between starwood hotels.
The main thing this hotel has to offer is location location location.
Staff here is still grumpy, they dont care that youa re platinum or a repeat guest.
The king room was rather funny, they left the headboard for a double bed and used a king sized bed. not only did it look terrible, it was annoying to sleep as pilows would fall.
I requested a king room, and they said they were sold out. I asked the entire time, and they said yes. My boss was staying for one night, and he had a king room. He offered is room to us. Somehow they went from sold out of kings for every night to having one for my 5 night stay...
Not sure how to swallow that one... a lie? inexperience??
Not so happy the second time around. It's a shame.

Friendly check in. Was given the room I requested. Room was small but contained all that was needed. Room and bathroom very clean. Streamlined amenities but covered immediate needs. "Glassware" were disposable plastic cups sealed in a wrapper - very sanitary. Small hotel, 8 rooms per floor, which made call for the elevator speedy and a very responsive and friendly staff. Excellent location. Highly recommend this hotel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KG20 Excellent Hotel, Staff, and Location
This hotel is a must-stay. The room sizes are average to NY but more clean. Great sheraton sleeper beds, good tvs, feels like a boutique hotel where staff meets every need quickly. The location is excellent - middle of everything and subway a block away! Restaurants and bars in walking distance, and a good irish bar downstairs. There is no way I would choose another hotel or location the next time I come to NYC!

I am in NYC at least twice a month and have been for years. I bounced around from hotel to hotel for years, until about 4 years ago. Our producer found the 4 Points by Sheraton Chelsea and we haven't left! It is so nice to come into the hotel and be treated like they are glad to see you! We have always had great service and the beds are the most comfortable in NYC!
Keep up the great work! See you in July....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimmy1234567 Nice Hotel - very good location for subway stations and even walking uptown
Although they had overbooked their double rooms, for which we had prepaid, they took care of us well by providing us two rooms, which worked out perfect! Rooms were very clean and our floor only had 8 rooms making it quiet. Our views north and south (including Empire State building) from the two rooms, respectively (19th floor) were a bonus. Unfortunately, the hotel only has one icemaker (on basement floor), no pool (although found few with pool when searching hotel booking sites), and no Starwood Preferred Guest Lounge. Overall, we (family of five) very much enjoyed our stay for three nights, found several subway stations within easy walking distance and some good grocery shops in the area for breakfast/lunch stuff. The staff members were helpful, pleasant, and accommodating, including providing us with late check-out for one room. We would definitely stay here again if I could again find a fare rate (when compared with other similar level hotels in Midtown/Chelsea).

Rated 4 out of 5 by JJ101 Great Location - Central!
Location is great being in Chelsea, which is central with easy access to SOHO, Times Square, Little Italy and the Meatpacking District. Supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants and cafes at your doorstep.
Would recommend for location, but the only downfall for me is the air conditioning unit runs a little loud.

Rated 4 out of 5 by scotland great view
We had a great time staying at Four Points, Chelsea. We had a view on the 21st floor of the Freedom Tower and this area has smaller buildings so there aren't blocked views. Perfect location if you want to walk a short way to the famous Highline above the road. Room was clean and comfortable although not big. Walk to Broadway show not too long if you like walking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Janblan Fantastic location
The location is the key selling feature of this hotel, but all other important features met or exceeded expectations. Rooms are reasonably sized for a Manhattan hotel and beds are comfortable. The staff is very helpful. An onsite restaurant / bar is a nice convenience. Free newspapers and coffee in the lobby. I would definitely stay here again, especially since I am a loyal Starwood member.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Slentz214 Great Staff!!
We had a Pleasant stay at the Sheraton... My only compliant was that we were "upgraded" after signing up for the rewards program and the room we were giving had two full size? Beds in it. My daughter, 6'4 husband and myself shared the room. The bed was just way too small for my husband and I.
The staff however was great! Very friendly courteous and prompt! We would definitely stay again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by nycshooterhotel Nice surprise
The hotel room was nice, clean and surprisingly quiet for New York City. The hotel staff I encountered seemed sincerely friendly. The young woman at the front desk that check us in was both friendly and accommodating.
The nightclub was small but packed with a great group of people ( Latin music puts you in the party mood) and the club staff made you feel like an old friend not a patron.

Rated 2 out of 5 by techexec Mixed/low quality, slow elevators, ok staff, sketchy street
We had a corner suite top floor which had amazing views of the empire state and Chrysler buildings but the room smelled a little dank and funky. I couldn't tell if the room had been renovated. The room had a mix of low and high quality. Examples of low-quality: beat-up, old furniture that could have been from a garage sale; ugly lighting, dank smell in the carpet and room, clean over dirty grout/caulk, shampoo and shower gel dispensers in the shower that you find in gym showers. Examples of high quality - nice sofa and marble in the bathroom. The check-in staff was not terribly knowledgeable of good restaurants in the area and referred me to one that was closing in 10 minutes. I ended up looking up my restaurant on-line. The street was filled with sketchy characters smoking and on cat call as I lugged my suitcase down the street. For the amount of money, I would probably stay at another SPG hotel in NYC.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mst11 Train your staff
The person with whom I first met was efficient but abrasive. I was early, so the room wasn't ready. Instead of saying just that, she added it was because I had made a special request. And she just kept saying "Give me your bags. Give me your bags."I did not like her phraseology. There is a way to ask nicely, and there is a way to stste professionally, "The room is not yet ready. May I take your bags?" In the morning the noise from your workers was intolerable. There was work being done on a ceiling in a room across the hall, on the other side of the hotel from my room. The workmen kept the door to that unit open while he talked to the housekeeper, who was in another unit across the hall. The conversation never stopped. When I mentioned it to the front desk woman, the same woman who greeted me when I first arrived at your hotel, she denied that anyone was working on my floor. That was a terrible response.

This was my second time staying at this location. It was even better than the first time. The rooms were very clean and the view was great. The staff is always so friendly and helpful . The doorman was great helping to get car service and making recommendations on things to do. Also the Brewhouse restaurant in the hotel was outstanding. Very good food and a nice clean atmosphere.

I stay at this hotel at least once a month and sometime more. It is my home away from home. I can always count on the rooms being fresh and clean, the customer services being excellent and the entire staff being friendly and helpful. Thank you Four Points by Sheraton - Chelsea for making my time in New York so relaxing and comfortable!

Okay so the location is good but way, way overpriced. As I have status with SPG I recommended staying here for a business trip. Big mistake, was so ashamed of ever recommending this place. I understand Four Points is the low end of the scale but price / quality was just outrageously off.

This hotel has no swimming pool, weight room, check in is crowded, elevator was out most of my stay, notice people were getting a lower price than spg owners not right at all. if rates change you should get the lower rates. The staff were very helpful and very knowlegeable, hotel just need some renovations wasn't what i expected from a starwood hotel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by johns good location-comfortable beds
Stayed for one night. Once the room type and rate confusion was settled, had a nice stay. Received two adjacent rooms with VERY comfortable beds and large shower. Downstairs restaurant was convenient and staff was firendly & efficient. Not the most exciting street, but just a block from much shopping & activity on 7th or 6th Ave. Just a couple of blocks form to Subway

One of my necessities where ever I stay is cleanliness. Thank you 4Points. I also was pleased that everyone I met on staff was genuinely happy to take a moment to answer questions and help when needed.
I enjoyed having the Brewery restaurant on site and available. From housekeeping, to the front desk and our friendly bar keep, all made our stay stress free. Thank you

It seems that I just may have been unlucky based on all the other great reviews. The room was small which was expected. The room did not have a welcoming feel to it though. Felt run down and did not feel very clean. Shower floor could have used a scrubbing. The doors to the room are very industrial looking and were also stained. Did not feel like a Starwood property.
