We travel to NYC often to visit family and have stayed in many different hotels. Since we took Amtrak this time, we decided to stay in Manhattan instead of Brooklyn, where we normally stay. This hotel is about 6-7 blocks from Penn Station, so if visitors are in reasonable physical condition to handle their bags for that long of a walk, cab fares can be avoided, as it is walkable.
The pros of this hotel include its location near Times Square, yet off the beaten path very slightly (less congested), its location reasonably near Penn Station, and its location near a large subway stop. We also appreciated the extremely friendly staff (literally, every person at the hotel was friendly, which was shocking to us compared to other places we have stayed in the city) and the cleanliness of the hotel.
The cons are that the rooms are small (which is true of every hotel I have ever seen in Manhattan). This is worth mentioning because if one packs too much stuff, he/she may feel overwhelmed trying to find somewhere to put everything. I personally did not like the style of the sink or the faucets. The sink has no edges, so there is nowhere to put things like my contact case and flat mirror for putting in contacts (had to use the desk instead). The faucets do not have hot and cold. Instead, one must turn the faucet on farther to get to the hot water (like some shower faucets), but the problem with that is that then the water comes out very forcefully. So, to get hot water for washing my face, water was flying around everywhere, which was annoying. I also did not like the stopper, which requires one to stick his/her hand into the water in the sink to release it. Minor things, but annoyances nonetheless.
All in all, we have already said we would likely stay here again.

Rated 3 out of 5 Poor Room Facility but Great Staff
Firstly, the room air cond made such loud noises that it was unbearable. It will suddenly turn very loud & rumbling and then went quiet for a couple of min and then rumbled again.
Next, the bed is sunk in, at least at the side where I slept. The middle of the bed was firm but the sides are sunk in. Poor quality.
However, the staff I met at the restaurant, Shagana & also the chef, were great, polite and friendly !!!! My wife and I were very pleased with the food and service and we actually ate 4 meals there! This is a big deal since we only stayed for 5 nights and New York had many great restaurants.

All was well with the check in. We stayed one night. Prior to check out the following morning we planned on purchasing breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We observed that there was a breakfast buffet that morning. We asked the concierge " how does the breakfast work" and she replied "please help yourself, it's free. We were pleasantly surprised as we have stayed in other 4 Point Sheratons that did not offer a free breakfast. Halfway through our breakfast I went to get my wife a cup of coffee and a staff member, whom I suspect was the restaurant manager asked me if I had a breakfast coupon. I replied no and that the concierge informed us that the buffet was free and to help ourselves. He replied OK. Upon our departure from the restaurant we were approached by the same staff member and he asked us if we were including our breakfast bill on our room tab. We replied no and again stated that were told it was free. He asked by whom and we informed him it was the concierge. He asked her and she confirmed that yes she did tell us that. He seemed to get irate and insisted that we pay and then produced a bill for $42. We asked to speak with the manager on duty to explain this issue of being told it was free. She listened to our concern with professionalism and realized a mistake was made by the concierge. She stated that the issue would be resolved and there would be no charge for our meal. As a last note we would like to express how unprofessional the restaurant staff member acted concerning this issue. We have never been treated so rudely and with such disrespect by any hotel staff member.

When I reserved our room, I was told that the hotel had a relationship with a parking garage one block away. When I tried to park in that garage, I was told that there was no room by an attendant. He was angry and pretty rude. I asked if there were another parking garage that I could try, but was not provided any help. After driving around, I found another garage several blocks away but at a cost that was very expensive. It was not a great way to begin a vacation. We probably would not have stayed at the Four Points Sheraton if we had known about the parking problem. I'd suggest that you make this clear to people who ask about parking.

My stay for one night at the Four Point Sheraton was amazing. The staff was really nice and eager to help. The rooms are small but comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect. We did not need a taxi and walked to all of our destinations.

The location of this hotel is great, close to everything and in the middle of everything. The service was good, nice staff, new water bottles every day and the wifi worked well (I had read about problems, so my expectations were low, but it worked very well). The room was okay, the only thing I missed was a table, so you can eat properly and not on the office desk below/too close to the television. Otherwise I'm very satisfied. I was working out every morning, and the trainings facilities worked well for running, doing pushups and situps :). Conclusion, good hotell to a good price, will probably bring my family here next time in NY!

Hotel is centrally located - very close to Broadway if you enjoy Theater; walking distance to Times Square and other major landmarks. Hotel has comfortable beds that make you sleep like a baby and wake up relaxed. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would suggest though that they should include breakfast in the cost of the room. Room rate is not exactly expensive nor cheap. However, when one pays $400.00 +/- per room per night, it would be fair enough that the hotel provide a decent breakfast for its guests. Room size is just right. The sink is squarish and water does not drain right away. But overall, I will recommend hotel to my friends and family.

Upon arriving at the hotel, I was greeted by Larry who then proceeded to check me into the hotel. When he swiped my credit card, he did not know that the hold that the hotel puts on the card to ensure that the card is active was still showing as processing. He ran my card twice and the bank flagged the card for fraudulent activity and I had to call them. Needless to say 30 minutes later, Larry and the gentlemen from my bank had worked it out so that the card could be processed. Larry was extremely helpful and very pleasant the whole time during my stay. He kept making sure that my sister and I were happy with the service.

Requested a Down free room through my online reservation as my wife is allergic. Called and spoke to someone repeating that we needed a down free room and stated they added notes to our reservation. When we arrived they had no record of our request for a down free room and it took them 45 min to prepare one for us. The manager on duty provided us with a round of free drinks and some appetizers so the 45 minute wait wasn't bad, however, if we would have had somewhere to be at a certain time could have wreaked havoc with our schedule. Also the room was pretty loud and the "city view' I paid for was very dissapointing

My wife and I stayed at this Four Points once again on our regular visits to NYC. We were upgraded to a city view room and the staff was as responsive as at any hotel I have ever stayed at. Location is perfect, parking is at reduced rate and nearby, and the Hotel Manager welcomed us personally. You can't beat the prices, the accommodations, the service and location.

I have stayed at other locations of this Hotel but wanted something closer to Port Authority for my visitor.
The excellent staff makes this hotel stand out. They accommodated in every way and we enjoyed the rooftop bar next door.
The street is not the most desirable and the bathroom lacks some 'counter space' but we slept really well in the comfortable beds and that is really all we expected to do while there.

Although the rooms were extremely clean, these were the smallest hotel rooms I have had. These rooms would be great for a single business traveler but not a couple. There was no place to put your stuff in the bathroom. If someone was sitting at the desk, there was no room to walk by between the bed and desk. Very cramped. The staff was extremely friendly every time we came in and out but they had not knowledge of the area. Neither the concierge or two people we asked at the desk were able to give any recommendations for specific questions we asked. Location was fine with close walking distance to many areas.

We had a very pleasant stay. Staff at the front desk was very efficient and eager to meet any of our needs. We arrived rain drenched and hungry. We were glad to find the restaurant to be open. Drinks were terrific but the waitress must have been new. We ordered soup and sandwiches. Sandwiches came without the cheese, pastrami was tough because it was too thick, and they forgot the soup so they served it after the sandwiches. Under staffed for having 3 tables occupied. Our room was small but comfortable. Faucet on bathroom sink was hard to adjust temperature. To get hot water you had to have it on full blast, then it would splatter. Other than these 2 things we had a perfect time.

Other than the fact that the bathrooms are really small - it was a great hotel - they gave us a high floor w/views of the "city lights"
Were extremely helpful in giving us directions and obtained tickets for us to view the 911 memorial & great guidance for getting around & dining & theatre tickets, etc. The Mgr. was a great host for an evening reception that made us feel valued as a Starwood Member !! A very nice thoughtful way to acknowledge your frequent clients. Thanks for a very exciting time in NYCity - hadn't been back for 40 years - so this was a very special trip! Would definitely return !!!

This hotel is extremely tight, the lobby is small, the room is tight and has no parking plans under hotel options. Although parking was available, for $38 a day with no in and out privilege, but the hotel didn't have the option for a discount nor valley support.
Checking in was smooth, found out that the toilet was clogged, the technician came a few minutes after calling in the morning and fixed it. Ordered 4 bottles of water, got only 2, then another 2 after a follow up call.
In general, the hotel was excellently located between Times Square and the Javits convention center. I enjoyed my stay.

I could sit here and write all day about the experience I had in this hotel! Lets start with the staff; such excellent attention, better than some 5 star hotels!! I HAVE to mention Katya was the best, she made me feel like home. (Thanks for everything Katya!!) The buffet was outstanding! I ate so much, it was too good! Walking distance to everything, literally! Hotel is located in times square, not in the center BUT it is in times square, actually 2 blocks away! I didnt want to leave when it was time for my check out. I highly recommend this hotel, cant wait to be back!

Location was not too bad. Only problem being that there's a parole office almost right next door to the building. Encountering them every morning on our way out was not pleasant.
First room that we were provided on the 28th floor smelled like bad foot odor. We had to be moved to a different room on the 20th. The smell was still there but less pungent. Upon returning to our room the following evening, one of the staff members left the window open, cranked-up the air conditioning and there were flies in our room. Bad odor was gone but we had unwanted extra guests in our room.

Very friendly staff. Definitely exceeded my expectations and I was not disappointed at all! Very helpful in many ways. The staff helped me with all the questions I had about my stay. Everything I asked for was done promptly and to my satisfaction. The sink was clogging and when I got back, it was fixed. I needed a fridge to store my gifts and they hurried and brought a fridge to my room! Even though the rooms were small, what else could you expect from a hotel in New York? Definitely the friendliest staff I've ever experienced. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

In looking for a one night stay last minute, I really only needed a clean bed to sleep in but I got so much more with this stay. We were upgraded to a suite which was perfect for our family of 4. The rooms were spacious for NYC, and the views were great. Everything was very clean and in working order. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even gave the kids pinwheels while we waited for our luggage to be brought out of storage. The location was within walking distance to Times Square and there was a parking garage next door. We will definitely look to stay there again!

Sorry for my due comments . I stayed in 2009 and I had great experiences. If you want a walk to Times Square, this is the best location.
We plan to go to New York again this summer and after reading all these good reviews we think this place has gotten better . We will definitely stay here again.
Anyway my concern is the parking spot nowadays. Looks like there was a traveller who couldn't park their car to the desired spot and ended paying expensive rate outside. We didn't have this problem before and I am not sure what is the rate now for us who stay at this hotel.
