Rated 2 out of 5 by Reception staff needs to be increased The hotel is OK but it's best point is its location. If you're interested in Broadway theaters and want a place nearby, this may be your hotel, IF (and this is a big if) you have more than 1/2 hour to stand in line to check in. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly, the rooms ok but nothing special-no free WiFi, no hair dryer. Still, I was put off by the wait-even though the receptionist did add Starwood Preferred Points to my account as 'compensation." December 10, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by staff are amazing! great location too The staff at this hotel down to each person were amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I had read all the other reviews before I went and yes this hotel is in Midtown. it is exactly 4 short blocks and 1.5 long blocks from Times Square. Most people can walk that distance in less than 5 minutes. It was even closer to the theatre district. I walked there and back in heels no problem! I don't think there is any other location in New York that can be more convenient for the price. We had absolutely no problems with the 'so-called' parole office. We did not even see it (maybe we aren't that observant?). Vanessa, our concierge was also extremely helpful with local shows and attractions. She recommended we visit the 'Highline Park' which was this cool park that we would have never heard of or planned to visit without her suggestion. September 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very happy with Four Points Times Square We were very happy with our stay. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and a special thanks to Siovan for his help and hospitality. The location was terrific for our plans in the Theater District, we had the best time and the folks at the Sheraton Four Points at Times Square made everything easier and better. Also, for a breakfast buffet the food was very good. Finally a breakfast potato that isn't a deep-fried, shredded potato brick. April 15, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Front Desk Staff When I checked in the attendant was smiling, she greeted me warmly, and then had to answer phones and was detained for several minutes in the middle of my check in. I later that evening spoke to Kenith requesting to extend my stay for one night, he simply said "We are totally booked tomorrow". Did not offer to check the system, did not offer to help me find a room at another SPG property, did not appologize for the inconvenience. Just No. January 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overcharged - Refund was a pain got credit card statement .. got charged twice ... had to call and spend 30 mins to get a refund ... front desk created a second reservation and called my reservation a "NO SHOW " ... never got offered any apology from the staff. Decent pricing ... clean rooms ... didn't really get a chance to use any of the facilities ... View of the back of an industrial building from the room ... January 2, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what I expected I have stayed at many starwood hotels. This one was a disappointment. The restaurant was none existent. The bar had 3 tables and 2 stools and felt like it was in a closet. My room was clean but tiny and the bathoom doors and showerdoor could not open without bumping things. Further when I turned the hot water on in the show the pipe sounded like an alarm was going off. Terrible stay compared to the rest of the properties in NYC. January 16, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Loud A/C, messy lobby, needs some love The lobby looks like a messy back office. Checking in late, I didn't have a choice to change rooms (I certainly would have if I wasn't wrecked tired from the Amtrak disaster). The A/C was so loud (I mean...impossibly loud) that I had to turn it off to go to sleep, which was fun in the 85 degree evening. Waking up in the morning I was greeted by an empty soap dispenser in the shower (I get it....save some money with a dispenser, but don't forget to fill it!!). The room service also messed up my order (missed an entire omelette) but to their credit were back within 15 minutes and apologetic. Leaving in the AM I realized why the area seemed so sketchy at night - it's right next to a parole office! There was a line of convicts around the corner waiting to go through a metal detector. For almost $500 a night, I expect MUCH better. Will not be staying here again. September 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Diamond in the Rough My first impression of the hotel was surprise, surprise because it was small. Overall it was a pleasant place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although the room didn't have any bells and whistles it was clean and comfortable. We had a King size bed that was nice but the bathroom was very small. We just spent one night in the city so for our needs the room was great. Once again Sheraton met my expectations! March 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by NYC Marathon We came up for the NY Marathon. The staff was great, in particular, Leon at the front desk. He was exceptionally professional. Knowing that we were running the race, he arranged for a late checkout so we didn't have to travel without showers. The location was ideal for the marathon and close to Times Square and Hells Kitchen without the noise. The room was a little tight for two, but it worked out well. November 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Great Experience The Four Points on West 40th in NYC exceeded my expectations. The facility is very nice, the room abd bed comfortable. What made the experience exceptional was the staff. Everyone including the people at the front desk, the bellmen, housekeeping, and the room service staff where particularly accommodating, pleasure and helpful. I would gladly stay at this property again. Thanks for the care and professionalism. September 24, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by 1 Point Sheraton We were fooled by the location. Although Times square is few blocks from the Sheraton, the hotel is next to a Parole Office, dark at night, and had few people working shifts. They had one waitress and the cook working the breakfast. Rooms were super tiny, bathroom even smaller. Service was non existent! Manager was there but was not open about getting serviced by others than the people outside in front of hotel. August 9, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed with room temperature control I've stayed st this facility several times. The staff is always great and the rooms are clean. However, I've run into issues with thermostat control a couple of times. This week the heater would not shut off based on room temperature. As a result it would get super hot then I would have to turn it off which would lead to the room getting cold. The staff took great care of me though and gave me a different room. January 26, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dissapointing stay The front desk cancelled my reservation even after I called to confirm that I would be arriving late due to my flight delay. When I arrived the front desk attendant could only reinstate my first night as the other two nights were no longer available. I was forced to find a new hotel the next morning. Then once in my room the walls are thin and the mattresses were covered in a plastic liner under the sheets. June 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Crowning Service The rooms were clean and the location was within walking proximity to Times Square but just far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle. My plans changed and I needed to stay an extra night, and I must say the service was immaculate and it was no hassle whatsoever. Siovan Tejada is a gentleman and a scholar! January 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Small conevenient hotel Small hotel with great proximity to lots of tourist locations downtown (including Broadway Theaters and Times Square). Rooms are small (but so are most in downtown NY), but well kept. I would definitely recommend requesting a higher floor, as lower levels look into bus terminal parking lot. Rooms service is good, although limited hours. January 4, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by HIDDEN GEM I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was in a great location within walking distance to Time Square. Subways were very close. You could catch a taxi in front of the hotel at times but mostly we had to walk to the end of the block. Not a problem though. Outstanding staff! Resturant food was good! On Wednesdays, they have a Managers Dinner. The only thing I wish they had was a refrigerator in room. August 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good location and excellent staff I would like to commend the entire staff in the front desk including the concierge who are very helpful. Special mention to Leon for a warm welcome when he checked us in and gave us some cupcakes too. As requested, we got a corner room with a nice city view which added to our wonderful stay at Four Points. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends when they are in the area. Thank you. Rated 3 out of 5 by Not recommendable First I did not get my request for a double bed. Second the room look terrible because of the visual damage to the desk. It was badly scratched, probably from the metal back of the chair hitting it-not sufficient room to turn. The room looked "ghetto." How can I recommend to anyone a room that looks like that. Regardless of how good everything else may be, a room looking so bad is inexcusable. June 29, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel in great location The hotel is in a very convenient location to many things. The rooms are small but furnished functionally. Very clean. Very friendly staff. We appreciated the luggage storage after we checked out. Breakfast offered a nice variety and the service was very friendly. The only irritant were the very slow elevators but it probably can´t be helped in an old building. Everything else top notch. September 4, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Excellent customer service...... BUT The staff and service that was provided was excellent; however, the hotel itself was not satisfactory. Everything was too small, tight or dark. The lobby is small, the bar area is small the elevators and hallways are small and dark. The air conditioner did not work properly, the sink was clogged and the bathroom was extremely small with no shelving. This simply was not a comfortable hotel April 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect perfect perfect This hotel is in the perfect location, has perfect amenities, and the customer service is perfect! Being an SPG member and getting a free upgrade is one thing, but to be put in a suite when staff found out it was our anniversary is another! And to top it off, free chamapgend and chocolate covered starwberries! This will be the ONLY property I stay in anytime I visit NYC! You should too!! June 24, 2013

Staff was helpful and polite from top to bottom, always a reflection of a hotels manager. Here, Mr. J. Turano has everyone working in tandem. A special mention to Leon at the front desk. Rated 5 out of 5 by Would stay again! the staff was very friendly and willing to help.The receptionist(Siovan) was very helpful and did a great job of getting us to our room. The rooms were very clean(I always look for clean). The bathrooms were great. Shower was sooo relaxing,The pillows were so soft I felt as if I were on a cloud.Overall I would recommend this hotel. Rated 4 out of 5 by Location close to Times Square We felt communication between front desk and housekeeping was poor. We arrived early, knowing we were before the official check in time, but we were lead to believe, from the front desk employee that housekeeping was working to get our room ready. The same employee kept telling us, that it could be anytime (20 to 30 minutes), that conversation went on for 3 HOURS, as we watched other people check into hotel!!! We waited patiently in the lobby, missing out on sightseeing, for 3 hours. We were exhausted and tired. We finally approached another employee, and within minutes, had a room with complimentary breakfast. We are Gold members, Westin owners and used our Starwood points for our hotel stay. Was it due to our point use for payment? We have never had a problem with any Starwood hotel until now. If we knew we couldn't check in soon, we would have done something fun! The experience was disappointing for a Starwood property. Food was good, prices were reasonable. A common alcoholic drink was $15.00, which we thought was very inflated for this hotel. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Housekeeping and restaurant staff very friendly! February 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Hotel for Mother/Daughter Stay I recently stayed here overnight with my Mom prior to going to an early taping for Anderson Cooper. This hotel was so convenient to Port Authority as it is about a half block away! Beds and pillow so comfortable! The handles on the sink and shower in my room were a little hard to turn on. This could be a problem for someone who has a weak grip. Would definitely stay here again! March 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location Came for a concert at MSG and anniv celeb. Location just far enough away from the very busy avenues. Hotel upgraded room and sent cheese tray unexpectedly. Suite Room was clean, quiet, big, comfortable and had great amenities. Only drawback was ice in the basement - they would deliver it though. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone. Rated 4 out of 5 by Further from Times Square than I expected When I did a search for hotels in Times Sq., this hotel popped up. It's by no means in Times Sq., it's blocks away. Lobby is very cramped and no sense of where the line starts. Checked in and out by a girl named "Terry", she was very professional! Answered all my questions....great job! Bed and linens were very comfortable. Bathroom very clean. Free bottled water was great! July 15, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Location and Facilities to be considered I thought the room relatively small. I was really annoyed with the set of the shower, the swing direction of the door coupled with how the warmest water setting came on. A situation that allowed alot of water to leak on the floor. Additionally, I didn't like being approached by clients of the New York Parole Building situated next door and in plain view out of my window. August 19, 2012
