Rated 3 out of 5 by Our stay I was disappointed in the condition of the room. It was clean but needs a face lift. I have stayed in other four points and was satisfied, but would not stay here again. October 7, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not The Four Points I Was Expecting Recent stay on a 3 night business trip. The big issue I have with this hotel is the first floor rooms reek of cigarette smoke even though smoking is not permitted anywhere within the hotel. I can deal with the outdated TV, the sub-par breakfast buffet, and the flat pillows, but they need to deal with the smoke odor issue. Staff was Ok, the rooms are good size, my room was clean and the bathroom looked like it was recently updated so I get the feeling they are trying .. they just need to do more. I would not look to stay here again. August 14, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by VERY POOR first impression "You only have one chance to make a first impression." The front desk clerk was rude, argumentative and imperious. Mainly, the issue was that he challenged my reservation and my right to the room rate reflected in it. If I hadn't needed this stay to keep my SPG points...I would have simply left, gone to one of the many other motels within spitting distance, and dealt with any "no show" charge after the fact. I wasn't even assigned one of the Starwood Preferred guestrooms! Adding insult to addition to my SPG preferred status, I am also a Starwood investor/shareholder. July 25, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing What a disappointing stay! I used to work for the FPbS brand and I know this hotel used to have extremely high customer service (GSI scores) so I was excited to stay here plus we had family that had stayed here in the past and loved it! Unfortunately that was not the case for us! As suggested by a family member we asked for a room overlooking the little stream out back. She told us we had been per-assigned to Rm 104 but could move us to Rm 338. However she didn't mention that Rm 104 was an upgraded SPG room. So in our ignorance we took Rm 338. What a disappointment. It looked like this room had not been cleaned in some time, there was a ring in the toilet at the water level, our shower had mold in the grout and that pinky colour on the caulking that you get when haven't cleaned your bathroom in a while! The lamp shade had water stains on it and the shower head came up to my chin! We both had to sit down in the grubby tub to wash our hair. Then watching a movie one night we could hear a dripping noise.....and discovered that this was coming from a leak in the ceiling about a foot from the edge of the bed making a puddle in the carpet!!! To top things off on our first night, we called down to the desk as our toilet was not flushing well. The lady on the desk told us she was maintenance, housekeeping and front desk that night and she would be up as soon as she could but it would be a bit!! We did not complain at the time because we were so annoyed we just grinned and bared it! Our next stay was at a direct competing brand and we loved it! I can't believe I lost all those SPG points on this terrible room and at a hotel that used to have such a great reputation! Extremely disappointed!!! August 12, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hennessy Sipe Wedding After brining Thousands of Dollars in business to your hotel, I received the poorest room out of any of our wedding guests. The thermostat didn't work and a great number of my guest (paying the same rate) received suites and larger rooms than I did and I was the sponsor! Unacceptable. September 6, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mediocre at best Not a Sheraton worthy hotel July 28, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Outdated Although the staff was very friendly and helpful the owner needs to put some money into that place to brings it into this century. Pool needs painting - there were paint chips around the pool. TVs are from the 1990s. Room felt "musty." Bed never properly made. Local information is not up to date. Powdered eggs are not even yellow. Bacon is limp and unedible. Hash Browns not cooked through. June 1, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs Work I have stayed at this hotel several times while my daughter attended her freshman year at Shippensburg U down the road. This is the second time that I have stayed in room 122. While the other floors don't have this problem, the first floor seems to have a moisture issue. As soon as you open the door to the floor, you smell something musty. Maybe it is the little stream the runs below the hotel and specifically room 122, but the funky smell is always there. They need to do a better job at remediating that and spend sometime refreshing the rooms just a bit. The beds were very squeaky, but again, this might be due to moisture. And whatever room I have stayed in, the wifi signal was always marginal. This needs to be turned up! May 9, 2014
