Rated 4 out of 5 by CarolinaToDCTravler Great Hotel & Great Location
Stayed for a week during the first week of January 2012. Great location. Very nice public areas. Room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping was the only negative for my stay. One day they left my door ajar (not pulled all the way closed). I came back and the door just pushed open as I tried to use my key. Nothing missing but scary none the less. Items in the room were not replenished properly. One time I had no washcloths, another time no bath math & the floor was never vacuumed the entire week stay. Other than the housekeeping issues, I really enjoyed the stay. I would come back again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tctommy a nice walk to the National Mall and Dupont Circle
Downtown, Chinatown, National Mall, and all the other sites are within walking distances. Local public transportation is readily available also so park your car and enjoy the sites. The staff greeted me at midnight with cheery smiles and all the info I needed about the area. This hotel was top of the line and just what I expected. no better then I expected. For people that don't use Starwood properties for there travel and just settle for what they get and at a price equal to or above what we pay don't know what they are missing. Thank you once again Four Points D.C. for maintaining the high standards we have come to expect and appreciate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tommytrble The Room Was Fine
I hesitated staying at the Four Points due to the bad reviews. In fact I stayed at a non SPG property the first week due to the reviews on this site. I just checked in to the FourPoints for my second stay (Due to the triple points SPG promotion) and I have to say the old reviews should be removed. The first room was a clean large corner room. It had a few issues, the shower head was terrible, the bathroom fan was really loud, and the entry light was a buzzer. But the room was clean and looked like it was remodeled recently. The second stay was over the weekend and I was upgraded to a suite due to my status. The room was good. The shower head was the same brand but worked, the exhaust fan was still loud but wasn't as annoying, and the entry light did not buzz as loudly. The suite was upgrade recently since everything looked new. The suites need a larger TV since the TV is so far away from the bed. I think the TV is a 32 inch screen and it's just too small for the size of the room. No issues with hot water, no issues with the staff. The restaurant was good. The hotel is three blocks from the metro station which was a drawback for me since I have an injured back but it was walkable. So to make the room better I would suggest three things, get better shower heads, replace the bathroom exhaust fans with an upgraded quieter model, and fix the buzzing entry lights.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this property as this past weekend we had an issue with a disturbance (loud music, yelling, things being thrown against the wall) across the hall that after 20 minutes of being unresolved when we called the front desk again we were rudely told that they would get to it when they could and they hung up. My husband then went to the front desk to get a new room at 10:30pm - the same front desk attendant reluctantly found us a new room. The issue was the staffs inattention to a situation that has clouded my opinion for Four Points properties in general. Not once did the staff that night apologize for the inconvenience.

We have stayed at the Four Points many times and it never fails us! The staff are friendly, rooms are clean, and the hotel breakfast buffet is delicious! Always a great time in DC!

Rated 4 out of 5 by beth3453 Fine but don't plan to use the wireless
The hotel was fine. I had chosen to stay at the Four Points, in part, because of the free wireless. However, the wireless access was so slow I was never able to do any work in my room as I had planned. I spent the majority of my work time at the COSI on the corner. Also, the desk in my room was missing the drawer, which just seemed unnecessary. The staff was friendly enough but I was disappointed to be assigned a room right across from the elevator.

Rated 4 out of 5 by patr1 a night in dc
Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, and is in a great location, rooms are clean. do not bother with the restaurant here, if your even lucky enough to get waited on, its not really worth the wait , more than likely you will be ignored, service is painfully slow, i have been here more than once. If you have a drink coupon breeze by if there are more than 3 people in there just forget it. you will just leave mad.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SPGSpoiled Old and Not Up to Par
Location and breakfast are the best things about this hotel. It's old, rooms are small, and the staff is limited. Each night I was awakened by someone; one night it was a security guard opening and closing doors. Once I had no washcloths or bathmats, and another time they keyed me out because they forgot to change my departure date. No one is especially friendly, but then it's D.C.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Packysheba Needs several upgrades
The rooms are small and outdated for the price. I took the comforters off because they had stains and were not clean. The sheets appeared to be clean. The bathroom is outdated and the tub had permanent stains because of the age. I did enjoy the restaurant experience. I called down to the front desk twice without an answer so I had to walk down to the front desk for assistance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bryant15 Lowered Expectations
For a Four Points Hotel you would expect more. Breakfast Buffet was cold and expensive. Dinner was OK. The Bathtub had a huge stain in it that we were told was from a problem with some cleaning agent. Stains on the bed skirts. Every day we had to call for an extra towel for the room. There were four of us staying in a two queen bed room and the staff only put 3 towels in the room. They knew how many of us were there. One day there were no towels at the pool. We called the desk and they said someone would bring them right up. 45 minutes later a second customer called with the same request never any towels delivered.

The hotel was very comfortable and very well located near the business area and the historical and museum areas of D.C.
My family and I enjoyed staying at the hotel, and being able to walk to the Mall, the great museums there, and to the White House. There are also good restaurants and shops in the general area of the hotel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sue222 Worst Starwood property I ever stayed in
This review is from July 2011 because I did not know until now there was this feature. I was appalled at the dinginess & wear of the inside-facing room I was assigned. It may have been clean but who could tell? The air conditioner sounded & felt like a helicopter was hovering over the room. End of July in DC 2011 was as hot as always so not running the air conditioner was not an option if one was to sleep. The reception staff was bluntly unpleasant on check-in & at check out when I complained about the poor room, the woman feigned total surprise that I was not pleased. I'm sure this is their normal facade. The worst stay ever & I tell everyone I know going to DC to avoid the wretched 4-Points at 1201 K street.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is so convenient to downtown, the convention center and all the DC sights and tourist attractions. My room was large, the bed was very comfortable, and the amenities were great! The staff was friendly and the hotel immaculate! Great stay!

I attended a recent conference at the Four Points and also stayed overnight for two nights. I found the accommodations to be lovely and the location just perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable, the meeting room was spacious, well lit and the first conference I've ever attended in any hotel where the room temperature was actually spot on!
What impressed me the most about this property was the genuine kindess and happiness of the staff. Everyone I came into contact with either personally addressed me and/or smiled at me, makinig me feel more than welcomed and giving the impression that they truly enjoy their jobs. I can't mention any one name because they all were so kind.
I will return and I would recommend this hotel to any traveler planning an event or just for R&R.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Caligirl02 DC trip
The location was good due to the closeness of the Metro and downtown. Was kind of disappointed that the noise level and ability to hear the noise in the hallways even when away from the elevator. The rooms were average, but price was great for the location.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kimbear Pen Ink Marks on the Bed Skirt
The hotel is in a great location, near various restaurant and great sites. My bed skirt was littered with Pen ink and marker markings along the bottom of it which made me leary of sleeping on what might not be clean sheets, thus i slept on top of the blankets. It was too late to ask housekeeping to change my sheets I left a note the next morning for housekeeping to change my bedding which was done. I hope that much more detail is paid to the cleanliness of the bed skirt &sheets in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PhxBBs Great central location
We stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 boys (9 and 7). Enjoyed being centrally located for doing the touristy stuff, including a visit to the White House that was the highlight of the trip. Front desk personnel were very attentive and always made sure we had anything we needed, and Calvin deserves special mention for his top-notch service. Parking was a bit expensive at $47 a night but it was much simpler to have the car at the hotel than a couple blocks away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DCDan Four Points DC is a Five Star Value
Rarely, do I write such a positive review, but this property earns it. I have stayed here several other times, and choose this hotel over many other brands within Starwood. The staff is beyond friendly and really does seem to care about my needs. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well appointed. I love that this is a fairly priced property, but yet is in the heart of the best section of Washington, DC. I can walk to most attractions and the subway and buses are right outside the door. I moved from DC to Philly and now, everytime I travel to DC, I stay at Four Points. Finally, I have had occasion to communicate with the manager of the hotel and he is, by far, the most attentive and responsive manager I have ever come across. All around, this hotel is a winning property for the many of us who want to stay in a nice place, but not pay top dollar.

This place is a gem. My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Four Points by Sheraton in DC on 12/24 - 12/25 and had a wonderful/stress free stay. The team went above and beyond to make sure we had a great visit. Wolde (bellman) Belema (front desk) and the valet parking attendant (pm shift) were excellent.
The Hotel is very clean and had a stylish holiday decorations. Thank you for having us. We would like to come back soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by AvoidBreakfast Breakfast food & Service Bad, Hotel - Good, Bar - Good
I would stay here again. However, I would avoid the breakfast and lack of service.
Seated quickly, followed by coffee and then NOTHING! NO "would you like a menu", "help yourself to the breakfast bar" NOTHING! I did not want the breakfast bar but due to the lack of service eventually I was forced to go to the breakfast bar. I had to find someone/anyone to pay for my bill when I only ate a single strip of bacon.

I'm a SPG Gold member and am suppose to get an "upgraded" room upon check in. HA! The room they gave me had some bizzare dryer vent hoses attached to a mini fridge (I think) that were duct taped to a plastic panel that was duct taped to a partially opened window. I've never seen anything like this! Hot air was coming into the room and you could hear all the street noise. They switched me to a different room that was just as noisy. Ironically they supply ear plugs in every room to drowned out the street noise. The next room they gave me was at the end of a hall and I could hear banging against the wall for several hours. That room also had no cold water. My favorite experience was listening to the other guests and housekeeping slam doors from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. each morning of the weekend. I also found that the thermostat would reset itself and blast hot air! So much for a relaxing weekend!
