Great location to the National Mall and the Metro Rail. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was closed for the three days that we were there, but they gave us a pass to use another hotel pool in the area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by christine501h Wonderful hotel
My husband and I stayed here for a night away from our children. The room was a little small, but was comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel had great food, and my husband was able to catch some of his baseball game in the bar. Would recommend to friends. We did however pick this hotel, because it stated it was within walking distance to the monuments and museums.. glad we did not attempt to walk, because it would of been a looong walk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WTsince74 Business
Late check in due to airline problems was no problem. Late check out due to overbooked business was no problem after a call to the front desk the night before to confirm it with the mgr on duty. Breakfast buffet quite adequate for a quick bite before starting the day, and opened early, which was very appreciated.
Overall a very pleasant experience with no hassle to disrupt the work to be done during the visit. Will return here in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 Not Bad
Average hotel. Wasn't blown away, wasn't disappointed. Rooms are a bit small. Had a 2 Double bed on 6th floor. Elevator was quick, rooms were clean, quiet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MochaRN Great employees, very friendly
I'm giving the overall rating average only because the toilet in the room had over flowed x2 and the AC in the room did not pump out cool air..I must say once the front desk was made aware of the issues, they had someone come to correct the problem. Also I must add being a SPG points were given back for the inconvenience, otherwise the staff was GREAT!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jason Worst Starwood Experience
My wife and I were extremely disappointed with our stay and can easily say it has been our worst experience at any Starwood property.
When we arrived on Thursday evening, we checked in to find our room uncomfortably warm, despite the thermostat being set to 60 degrees, as well as some bits of metallic trash on the floor that were apparently too heavy for the vacuum cleaner to pick up. After fiddling with the thermostat, turning it on and off, the air conditioner kicked on, and appeared to begin working. Later that night when we returned, we found the room once again uncomfortably warm and had to do the power cycling trick to make it work once more. Imagining the problem could be fixed by hotel maintenance, we decided not to contact the front desk, and just endure the heat and inconvenience until morning.
The next morning we contacted the front desk, and they promptly sent up a hotel engineer to repair the unit. He left, claiming the unit was fixed, and we departed the hotel. When we returned, the room was once again warm with the AC not working, so we called the front desk again. They sent up a different engineer, who again 'fixed' the AC, and assured us that it was actually fixed, and would not break again. Once we returned to the hotel later that night, we found our room hot once more, and decided that the hassle of switching rooms would be better than sleeping in a hot room for another night.
The front desk agreed to move us to another room with a working air conditioner, and sent up keys. We were escorted to another identical room on a different floor and began to unpack our luggage. We quickly realized that the room had not been particularly well cleaned, as we found unemptied trash cans, and a half eaten sandwich in the fridge with an expiration date from last month. We also noticed that a plastic bag had been tightly secured over the fire sprinkler in the bedroom portion of the room, an obvious fire hazard, and decided that we should just call the front desk, inform them of this, and have them switch us to another room.
The front desk agreed to move us once more, sent up more keys, and we were escorted to yet another identical room, on yet another floor. We unpacked, and settled in for the night. Then, during the night when my wife got up to use the bathroom, she found the bathroom floor covered in a quarter inch of water, which had begun to leak from the the fire sprinkler in the bathroom. (Perhaps this is why the sprinkler in the other room had been disabled?). Since it was almost 4am, we decided to simply go back to bed until morning.
Finally, come morning I walked down to the front desk to speak with a manager. She apologized, assured me that last night would be adjusted off our bill, and gave me another set of keys. My wife and I moved to our fourth identical room, on another floor, and finally had no issues for the one remaining night of our stay.
After checking out, I arrived home and found my adjusted hotel folio in my email, and realized that although the second night had been adjusted off my bill, that only amounted to about 1/6th of the cost of the three night stay. We had been taking advantage of a promotion where the first night was undiscounted, but the subsequent were substantially discounted, only the discounted night had been adjusted off. So, despite the bill for the total stay being substantial, adjusting one night off resulted in a final bill that was not significantly smaller.
Clearly, the whole experience was a negative one for us. Although the hotel staff were generally responsive, no one seemed particularly concerned with resolving our problems or interested in making things right. After needing to place two (unsuccessfully resolved) maintenance calls, and needing to move between four different rooms, I would have expected at least some sort of effort to endear us to the hotel. An upgraded room would likely have left us with the feeling that the staff actually cared; even a token effort like drink tickets, complimentary breakfast, or restaurant credit would have helped, but nothing like that was ever even offered. Instead, we're left with a 16% discount on our bill and bitter taste in our mouths.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maribell I enjoyed the stay
We immediately felt welcome. The front desk was able to give us an upgrade! We ate dinner at the "District Grill" three times during our stay, but that didn't count the buffet breakfasts we had each day for being a platinum member. We had excellent service. Because we stayed on the SPG level, bottled water was free. Metro is very convenient - only minutes to almost anywhere in DC. We could walk to the White House and Conference Center. The enclosed pool is on the roof - we used the heated pool before turning in for the night. We slept very well in our quiet room.
