Rated 2 out of 5 by JJmac This hotel does not enforce non-smoking strictly enough
I have stayed in this hotel a number of times while visiting family, and twice now I have had to move rooms because people have been smoking in the room next door. The smoke comes straight through the balcony doors to my room, and there is also very inadequate sound proofing. While the staff have been helpful and are apologetic, they must not be making it clear enough at check in.It does not help that the hotel is poorly built and designed, (and looking tired) so there are no seals or sound proofing to stop smoke/noise coming into the next room. I will not stay at this hotel again, even though it is the most well-located hotel in Geelong

Rated 1 out of 5 by DisrespectedSPGmember Third Time Promises Were Lipservice
Third time in three years to stay at Four Points Sheraton Geelong. Even I ranked it one star twice previously on this internet review and had the GM contact me directly with a mouthful of promises, this hotel is still far below SPG cost/performance targets.

As I stepped out of the shower I reached up and grabbed a towel from the shelf. As I shook the towel open about to wrap it around me I was horrified to see what looked like blood stains all over it. I left a comment card and after no response sent the hotel an email. I have still not heard anything from them. I took some photos with my i-phone for proof and included them on the email. Now I am not only sicked by thought of what was on the towel but worried I will sound like one of those compulsive complainers we all get sick of reading on trip adviser or the like. But apart from the towel trauma the hotel was otherwise not half bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AB99 We held a conference here - staff are the best!
All the staff were friendly, professional and proactive during a recent conference I helped stage. Nothing was too small (or too large) to help us with. In particular, Liz from the Banquets staff was outstanding; she went above and beyond what I'd expect, even volunteering to bring me a coffee when I couldn't leave the rego desk (even though she was busy too!), helping us get tables moved when it hadn't been part of the original plan, and constantly keeping an eye on everything to ensure all ran smoothly. She is a gem: personable, in control, and totally customer-service oriented.

Rated 2 out of 5 by unhappy2013 Hotel below par
Hotel advertised: Free WiFi, free bottled water, King size bed. All incorrect: WiFi in room charged at $20/day only free in public area level 1 and 2; botteld water charged at $6/bottle. King bed was two single beds pushed together - uncomfortable. Mould in bathroom!
The 1.5% credit card surcharge on check out is gouging - cheques not accepted without a weeks notice. Breakfast expensive and range and quality of food poor. No video player in room
Staff were helpful and friendly

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lochlan1 staff friendliness
All reception, bar employees of the highest standard during the 3 night stay.
Only issue this week was no towels in pool area at 5am which is when I use gym and pool . Reason was obviously next door booked out that gives joint use of pool as there were people half asleep and intoxicated on pool chairs at 5 am and all towels used , gym TV left on loud. But I suppose we were all young once

Rated 1 out of 5 by DisrespectedSPGmember Again Four Points Geelong Below Par
A few years since I needed to stay a Four Points Geelong but soon recalled why they are below par.
1. No recogition of SPG Platinum before I asked
2. No free parking, despite one can park on the street outside for free (nobody told me)
3. No free bottles of water in room
4. Despite I booked months ago and asked for SPG Free upgrade, still no upgrade
5. Cost / Performance totally unacceptable
6. Charged a 1.5% credit card handling fee despite the excessive room price
7. Mould growing around the wall of the bath
8. TV channel options don't include CNBC nor BBC .... worse than options in China

Rated 1 out of 5 by londontraveller Mould in the bathroom
The hotel is facing a busy road and car parks space. It is more like a motel rather than a Starwood hotel. I was very disappointed to stay in a small room with two dirty double queen bed put together with a mattress on top, and found mould in the small bathroom which I took a picture of it. It is the worst hotel I have stayed with Starwood, and I don't think it meets Starwood standards.
