I have been an SPG member since the 80's and this ranks as disappointing a stay as we had in Moorea some years ago.
The rooms have been renovated and are poorly designed: Lighting is terrible and poorly positioned, there are few drawers to put anything, let alone clothes, the 'desk' is too close to the bed so no one can pass by without moving the chair out of the way, etc., etc. Lots of irritating niggles - a result of design for looks rather than practicality. We also had problems with the air conditioning.
The worst experience however was room service - the food was appalling and in the most part inedible. Not a one off as we tried a number of selections from the menu and ALL were well below par.
Really poor effort.

when enquiering about car parking was told on the phone and by cheekin staff the parking was a flat $45 but i pointed out that the sign in the car park was $70 and again i was told that it was a flat $45 . when cheeked out of the car park i was charged $70. When we went for breakfast we were sat down and asked tea or coffee and that was all, when we were nearly finished our breakfast they sat some body in the seat beside use and asked them if they would like eggs poached or fried but this information was not pointed out to us.

I found the doonah too hot. Not sure what options there were for a "cooler" level of blanket.

I stayed here for my birthday with my youngest daughter, we arrived early (8.30am) and when I went to leave my bag with the concierge he recommeded to see if we could check in - the room was ready and we could .... I have never stayed somewhere where the hotel will be this flexible!! I called 'solutions' with questions (room service with allergies) and they were exceptional, very understanding and I felt reasured. It is worth mentioning that the location has to be one of the best in the city. You walk out the back of the hotel and you are at the aquarium. wonderful.

I was a corporate traveller and got to Four Points approximately 9pm and wanted some room service. The phone wasn't answered for 10 minutes, and I had to go back down to reception to order. I was given no apology by the reception staff and was encouraged to increase my order, which really riled me after the poor customer service I received. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel to any of my other corporate travellers.

I booked the Four Points Darling Harbour for Australia Day, as I was bringing my grandson who has autism from Perth as a treat to see the fireworks. I booked the city view room for the 3 nights and asked if possible for a upgrade and explained the situation, well when we got to our room it was amazing !! On the top floor with the best views ever, we were so lucky. The Hotel staff were all so friendly, and the rooms spacious, immaculate and even though the hotel was very busy being a holiday weekend, we never had any disturbance or noise at all. I was very impressed by the level of "good people skills" that the staff showed, as it makes a huge difference to the overall hotel experience.
I would defiantly recommend this hotel.

We found Four Points very clean, staff could not do enough for us and always with a smile, food fantastic and breafast supburb and the location perfect we will be back soon we hope.

Hotel is in a great location, close to Darling Harbour, King Street wharf and all the attractions of that precinct. It's also right in the CBD so good for shopping as well. Staff were excellent and very pleasant. Harbour side room had nice views across Darling Harbour and the room, whilst not large was a reasonable size. The only drawback for some is lack of parking. Parking is very handy opposite but cost $104 for my two night stay. Not a big deal given it's so close but could be a factor for some. All up a good stay and I would recommend the hotel to friends.

What an amazing experience we had this weekend. When we arrived at the hotel (2 hours before check in) the staff on reception were so accomodating in regards to swapping our rooms around so we could check in then.
The beds are THE most comfortable hotel beds we have EVER slept on and we made that abundantly clear to the staff as we checked out.
The room was clean and had all the amenities. It was nice to have the choice of a wine glass or champagne glass for example.
We were within 5 minutes walking distance to darling harbour and same to George street so a great location also.
Even when my shoes rubbed my feet i was offered bandaids and had them brought straight to my room.
An amazing stay and will definitely be back!

As a life time platinum member and stayed over 1,000 nights in SPG properties in last 10+ years. I experienced one of the poorest service personnel from Four Point Sheraton Sydney. I requested to check out 2 room types that offered to me. But the lady seemed unwilling and treated me as a unwelcome guest not even answered my questions with a stern face on the way to see the room. I was treated as beggar seeking for welfares. Steve, the manager who took me to see the other room was different. He carried all the respects, smiles and pleasant face and treated me as welcome guest. The lady (not mentioned her name here) was disgraced the hospitality of SPG. It was a misfortunate to see such staff in SPG property after 1000+ nights.

Room service, $7 surcharge every time they bring it up. Very annoying. So if you want entree, main and dessert for example add on $21.
No swimming pool.
My friend got an upgrade but I didn't. I also had to ask to move room as I was put next to the lifts (with a child??) and there was hammering right next to my room. The next room was okay, staring at a wall, so definetely pay the extra for harbour views at this hotel.
The seafood dinner is good, I recommend it and it was $39 buffet.
The hotel is a bit hit and miss, it has good aspects but next time I will probably try somewhere else with a pool. It's a Sheraton hotel, but it doesn't feel like one - that's my best way of describing it. Stay for the location if you get a gd rate.

Our stay at this hotel was way better than expected. Staff are all pleasant and helpful,
Room and bathroom was modern and clean,
Views to the harbour was exellent. But I have to say the dinning experience was second to none. The seafood buffet was quality and very reasonably priced. Maybe a Byo could be added to make the whole experience perfect.

We booked a superior room, which quite frankly is misleading. The room was small, with little room for manoeuvre of 2 people. The AC didn't heat the room, continually blowing cold air, in winter. The TV provided no movie channels unless you pay extra, so you're limited to sport or daytime garbage. Wi-Fi in rooms is charged at $20/day, which again is too expensive. Room service food quality is lacking. The light above the mini-bar (around mirror) never goes out and cannot be swithced off - unless you remove your card from the power isolator we were told (which turns EVERYTHING off), leading to sleepless nights. I have experienced rain fall harder than the shower, and the temperature fluctuates from freezing cold to scalding hot.

I have stayed at this motel several times and have always had a very pleasant stay. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The service from all staff has been excellent and top class.

Aircon does not go higher than 24. City side rooms freezing. aircon flow was cold air. TV pic does not fit screen and sound does not go higher than 40 & some channels volume is louder than others. Locked out of room last day. Poor response from staff who 'demanded' id - could have handled professionally. Door in dining room by kitchen banged incessantly every few seconds from staff going in and out. Breakfast hot buffet was cold at 8.45.

I loved this hotel. The location was excellent for exploring the city centre!! From Darling harbour, Opera house, all the major streets, Casino the hotel was a great choice as I stayed in the city until late. I got the city view room, next time I'll ask for a room with harbour views. The room was clean and comfy but needed better artworks and more channels on the TV, maybe a DVD player too. Room service was great and very fast, food was tasty, house keeping excellent!! Definite stay again when visiting Sydney.

It was a pleasant stay to have the darling harbour view every morning for approx 1 month stay there. However, there are some areas for improvements. The room soundproof is weak as my room is just in front of the staff entrance & I get pretty annoyed sometimes. More attention should be focused on the statement invoice as there were 2 breakfast & 1 laundry that were inaccurately charged to my account. Thumb ups to the female receptions for assisting with my credit card issues during the checkout & i really appreciate that.

Front reception experience was not as good as I had hoped. Was not informed about the restaurant or that my room actually included breakfast. Reception was not very informative at all about my stay, was disappointed by the friendliness of staff at the reception counter and one of those people was a trainee. All other staff in the hotel were very friendly except for the reception staff I encountered. Not sure if I will return to this hotel. Room was fantastic , lovely hotel, however customer service at front reception was not to the standard I expected.

your 15th floor where we spent the 1st night with noisy air conditioning units above and water running thru pipes confirmed by your engineer next morning we then changed to 8th floor on Darling Harbour side which were 2 rooms interconecting and were very good

Overall, everything was good.
Except, at night, some youths(seemed to too hilarious and walking loudly) passing the corridor knocked the door at night(about 10PM) interrupted the sleeping. It was so lucky as my wife and I just fell asleep then woke up.
To go back to sleep, I spent 4 hours because I had to struggle on the phone to explain this to the duty manager who requested the security team to monitor the 15th floor.
The apology was acceptable when I checked out and during the night when I called up to the duty manager.
Nevertheless, the nice and calm atmosphere at our sleeping was interrupted no matter what apology was to us on the phone after we tossed a couple of Champagne to celebrate the Mother's day for my wife.
I will speculate to concern if this hotel is too casual to stay calm and quiet for the family.

We have high expectations of the Sheraton, and we would book again. The Concierge staff are excellent - they really know their stuff ! well done. Where you can certainly improve is at the reception - this needs some attention. The first thing that hits you is always the smell of fish (as there is a restaurant directly at reception). This put us off using the bar. I certainly didn't feel like a particularly valued guest. SPG didn't feel like an advantage. You gave us a room beside the lift - never the best location especially late at night.

Our experience at Four Points Sydney began and ended with a smile and a guarantee that our stay would be memorable. Those guarantees were fulfilled. This hotel is in the perfect location for Darling Harbour accessibility, Sydney Transportation, tourist locations and CBD attractions and historical venues. The service from the moment our luggage was gathered and held by the Concierge to the staff servicing the rooms daily was nothing shy of superb. The pride and focus shown by your staff during our visit is something I stress to my employees as a means of establishing return business. We highly recommend your hotel for relaxing, peaceful, safe visit to the CBD and Darling Harbour area for both holiday and business travel. Thank you again!

A small matter but important for women - Bathroom lighting needs to be increased. However, a much bigger matter - blocking of my credit card by loading charges against it without my authority. I am in no doubt, this was illegal. It also meant that my card maxed out and I had no means of finance for an entire weekend. This was not only totally inconvenient but extremely humiliating when presenting my card to retailers. For this reason alone I would have trouble recommending this otherwise great hotel. A bottle of wine as recompense did not cut it.
