Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Location The hotel is located in the center of downtown Halifax. Spring Garden Row begins behind the hotel's block, and there are dozens of restaurants differing in ethnicity within walking distance in nearly any direction. The staff were more than helpful and friendly - right down to the cleaning crew. July 4, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Good location and price This is a good hotel for families as it's very close to attractions, food, and has a pool. The price was the most competitive that I found in this area and our room was spacious and well appointed. There's complementary coffee int he lobby, which is very welcome an early morning with kids :) July 2, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Cleanliness/temperatures need improvement Was very impressed on 2 previous stays, so made sure to chose this hotel for this stay... very disappointed this time. There were hairs on the bathroom floor behind the door which made me question the cleanliness of all the floors, but since the rest of the room is lined with dark carpeting there was no way to tell... i wore sandals the entire time... Could not get the temperature setting right in the room, if I set it to 20 degrees the air conditioning would turn off and it would be extremely hot, so I'd turn it to 19 degrees and the air conditioner would go on max until it was freezing in the room... had to adjust about every hour while in the room to keep a comfortable even temp. And, there is no air circulation or conditioning in the elevators which move extremely slow, so if you happen to be on the top floor, it's a very hot and stuffy ride down! Also, the prices for a snack in the lobby are insane... $2.50 for a can of pop, or a chocolate bar. It should be $2.50 for both! June 30, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Stay We have stayed at this hotel the last few times we've needed to spend a night in Halifax. Every experience has been great! Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it's right downtown. We probably won't stay in any other hotel from now on! April 27, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very satisified It meet all our expectation. The location just downtown is phantastic to walk anywhere. We had a spacious and quiet room and got a very good sleep. The only thing which could be much better is breakfast in the restaurant; I would prefer to choose from a buffet -- to get a more healthy combination -- as to choose from the menu. June 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Neat and clean We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms on the 5th floor. Beds were comfortable, it was quiet and the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our room wasn't ready when we first got there, but it wasn't a problem as they stored our luggage for us while we went site seeing. You can also store your luggage when you check out at noon if you have a later flight. We didn't try the restaurant or pool or fitness centre. Breakfast was not included. May 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Halifax Mini Vacation This hotel has always been my "second choice" hotel when I visit Halifax, but after my latest stay, I intend to make it my first choice. I requested a "quiet room" and Stuart on staff found me a perfect room at the end of the hall facing the courtyard. I recommend it to all travellers who are light sleepers like me!!! I was within walking distance of all my farourite shopping locations and restaurants. Couldn't ask for a better visit to Halifax. November 24, 2013

The staff were friendly and attentive upon my arrival, particularly the fellow working at the concierge desk - he went out of his way to suggest places to visit, shop and dine at after learning it was my first visit to the city. This, coupled with an excellent central location, a great room and a very comfortable bed made for a memorable stay. November 24, 2011

Once again, we had a great reception at guest services. Tabatha was efficient, friendly, and joked along with the group as we checked into the hotel. First impressions on service quality was great. He goes above and beyond to make sure guests are very comfortable and he is very attentive to your needs. I was very happy with my room. I would definately stay at Four Point Sheraton again in the future! December 3, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Halifax move I found the hotel amenities to meet my expectations but the staff did nothing to make me feel special. They were quite kurt at the front desk. They would not go above and beyond for any of my requests. the cleaning staff was responsive to our needs. That said, they were not able to clean the mold off in the shower stall. September 4, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hotel Stay The room was nice and spacious and the bed comfortable, however, we were quite disgusted to find feces left on the inside rim of the toilet which means it was not cleaned also the shower curtain had an odor. We were only there for a short period of time otherwise I would have requested another room. September 19, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Bad execution First the good. The room was clean, reasonably quiet (but the hotel was not too busy) and the beds were very comfortable. But, there were a few annoying details. The lighting in the room is terrible, don't expect to do any reading. The clock radio took ridiculously long to figure out how to set the alarm (and I'm tech savvy). It is just a bad design. It seems to me that whoever designed these rooms and bought the fittings has never actually stayed in one. Finally, the biggest disappointment. There is a promotion on called "Local Best Beers" featuring local craft beer in the hotel bar(s). In this case of this location, the "hotel bar" is not in the hotel but in the mall next door. No big deal. But... Their idea of a local craft brew was Keith's. This is neither a "craft beer" nor even that local anymore. It's like going to a local bakery and being served wonderbread. Even if you don't care about beer, this was misleading, false advertising that has put me off the Starwood brand. Bad execution on a good idea. June 13, 2012

It was remarkably quiet considering we were directly across from the elevators. We will definitely stay there again. November 30, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Pool & whirlpool I arrived today to find out that the Pool and Whirlpool is closed for the week for cleaning. I has not advised or made aware of this until check in. This should have been advertised I would have booked at another Hotel. Disappointed. January 4, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by So glad to have stayed here We came up for 2 nights just to visit the city and get away from home. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, we missed our room in the hallway and a housekeeper cleaning the rooms showed us right to our room with no hesitation. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the overall cleanliness of the room was great. You could smell that it was cleaned recently. The only thing I could say was there was some noise on Saturday morning but this is to be expected as there are renovations going on, so it's nothing to complain about. I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on staying next time I come to Halifax! Thanks! February 4, 2013
