Housekeeping is extremely spotty: don't look under the bed or any other furniture for that matter, bring you own shampoo ( dispenser was not filled, even though I asked twice), and don't expect to be upgraded as it rarely happens. Climate control is vague and largely unresponsive. Rooms are very difficult to heat or cool. The rooms facing the courtyard are bleak but extremely quiet. Soundproofing is among the best I can remember in a Starwood. The restaurant is beyond subpar: bad food, horribly encrusted tables, indifferent service. Staff are friendly and pleasant but untrained and unskilled.

We were pleased with the location of the hotel. Everything we wanted to see was within a short walking distance.

Hotel has a good location and close to restaurants and shopping. Waterfront is steps away down the hill. Will likely be staying there again.

I booked four rooms at the hotel for a bachelorette party. According to the website check out time is 12:00. We arrived around 12:30. We certainly didn't expect our rooms to be ready this early but we were hoping to have at least one room to drop off our things and get ready. Or have one available before check in time. The staff at the desk informed us that the guests in our rooms had not yet checked out. They also informed us that check out time was 1:00 not 12:00. We decided to go get a bite to eat and left my cellphone number as we were told it would be about an hour. They were nice enough to let us leave our luggage.
By 4:00 we had yet to receive a call even though check in time is 3:00. We headed back to the hotel and were told our rooms were not ready; however, new guests were arriving and getting checked in no problem while we sat around in the lobby waiting. We finally got one room around 4:30 and all four rooms became available around 5:00. This was very disappointing and affect our evening plans. I am still puzzled as to why our rooms were only available 2 hours after check in time. We were waiting all afternoon while others just strolled in and got rooms. Am I to believe that we had the only 4 rooms in the whole hotel that were not ready?
Staff didn't have much of an explanation to give us for the delay and didnt offer too much assistance. All they had to say was they were sorry and we would have to wait for them to be ready.
Once in our rooms, we barely had any towels or supplies. There was no hand soap and it looked liked the rooms had been hastily cleaned.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel and don't plan on staying again.

The bed sheets were worned out and the cover blanket had stains on it. The bath tub wasn't draining properly, so I removed the lid and discovered years and years of hair stuck in there. The TV system is basiclay unusable, it takes forever to come up then impossible to select a chanel.

I usually stay here when I come to Halifax. This time I was in town for the "Girls Night Out" event. The hotel is right next to Pacifico where the event was being held.
Emmily checked me in at reception.Very friendly. Check in was quick although it was very busy (it was a Friday) Thanks again!
