Property seems quite new, pleasant lobby with atrium. Rooms noise can be an issue if there are loud groups of people in the lobby, but I never experienced anything too significant. Room is nothing special, but judging by MVD standards, it's about as good as you'll ever get.
Location is not great: you're stuck in between the old town and Carrasco area, with nothing interesting in the immediate vicinity. Your best food bet is the chiviteria La Pasiva next door.
No club lounge, but good upgrades to suites for Platinums. Breakfast is nothing to write home about but dinner service was pretty lousy: they were out of 3 of the 6 mains on the menu, and service was very slow. The tiny pool and gym room are not included in the rate and costs USD 5 which is not worth it.
Still, it is pretty decent value...

A great stay in Montevideo. The staff was exemplary. The hotel is in good condition. It's clearly old, but they've done a decent job remodeling it. They recognized my SPG status and upgraded me without me inquiring. Staff was wonderful and rooms were very comfortable. It's in a nice part of town, 1 block from 18 de Julio. I would stay here again.

As we were waiting for our ride to the bus station, sitting in the comfortable Barcelona chair in the lobby, I felt as if I was leaving a bed and breakfast hotel. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and engaging. The front desk, the restaurant staff and the room maids made us feel like we were welcomed into their country as well as their hotel. The front desk accomodated all our questions and needs for tours, places to shop, eat, room service and arranged for ride back to the bus station. The restaurant and bar had a varied menu that ranged from cheese & meat trays with drinks, fixed price dinners, buffets (breakfast and lunch) to a full menu of entrees. The food was well prepared, presented and delicious.
Over all the only thing we found wanting was the pool - it was too warm. Other than that, the fitness center was clean and well appointed along with the sauna.
The visit at the 4 Points Sheraton was a lovely experience. We definately would go back there!

I presented a 1 day conference at the hotel and three nights stay. Rooms OK, but I was given a low level floor smoking room (the opposite of my SPG profile). The conference went ok, but our previous instructions were not followed and it required us to do part of the arrangements. Coordination can be highly improved. Sound did not work correctly. Not very satisfied.
