We came in for a swim meet. Immediately, my kids and I were sorry we booked the hotel. We drove around to the back looking for the entrance and found trash everywhere. Unfortunately, that was the entrance the front desk suggested we use due to the proximity of our room. We had to avoid stepping in unknown liquids both inside and outside the hotel door. We're not country mice, so we're used to being around all types of environments, but we were scared. I felt like we were checking into a Motel.
When we got to the hallway, it smelled like rotten vegetables. We couldn't breathe. We cut our trip short and left the following morning rather than risk anymore disappointment. Had we not had to drive 8 hours home, we would have checked out that night. No use in alerting the staff because I doubt we would have found the rest of the hotel in any better condition.
This hotel really needs an updating of EVERYTHING. It's a great location for the University and the surrounding areas, but SPG should drop it from their brand or give it an overhaul.

When I arrived, the lobby was pleasing, but once I got to the Preferred floor, it smelled musty. My room was ok, but also smelled musty. The air conditioner made so much noise I could not hear the TV and later could not sleep. I went to seek ice and it was only on the 2nd floor and I was on the 4th. In my preferences, I have noted that I prefer being located close to the elevator. I was given a room that was almost at the farthest end away from the elevator. The worst was that at 5:15 am I went to get a shower to leave for a 6 am meeting and the shower did not work. I called but the maintenance person did not arrive until 7 am. I was forced to wash my hair in the sink and take a "bird bath". When I arrived back to the hotel at 3:30 pm I found that the shower had not been fixed.. The front desk staff did not seem to know anything about it and when they sent the maintenance person (who was very nice and helpful) he also didn't know anything about it but quickly fixed it. I have had to open the window to get air (without the noise from the air conditioner) however, the trash was emptied at 4 am so was very noisy. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and definitely would recommend that SPG remove their name from this property. I travel over 50 nights a year and have never had a property this unacceptable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RodM The staff is incredible!!!
From the first person we encountered to the last, the staff was very friendly, outgoing and went out of their way to make our stay excellent. Lonyetta, the Front Desk Supervisor even helped me lock the doors in my car in the parking lot as it was very confusing and an older rental car. She then spent time with me and my wife as we were dropping off our son at ASU and it was hard on my wife. Then Terrell at the front desk the next morning was great, as was Pat in the restaurant and Josh in the Bar. The leadership of this hotel must be great because it is clear everyone loves their jobs and goes out of their way to make guests enjoy their stays.

The pros -the staff is friendly and the breakfast is terrific. Directly across the street from Barrett at ASU. The cons - the hotel is dated (maybe vintage 70's?) and housekeeping is sub par (room not cleaned one day, never enough towels provided - had to call every day for more, didn't clean coffee pot). The front desk area appears to be remodeled and in good condition. The rooms are old and worn - not what I had expected at all. Elevator in and out of service. You get what you pay for - so if you can overlook the antiquated rooms and inferior housekeeping, the location will likely make up for those shortfalls. I would recommend only for the proximity to ASU.

air conditioner loud and hard to regulate; hallways and stairways should be cleaner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by juice67 unprofessional and dirty rooms!!
i totally disliked my stay with your hotel, i am an SPG Gold member and have stayed at other four point sheraton and your hotel was by far the worst, the staff at check in and the cleanliness of the rooms. sheets and blankets ripped with holes and comforter was stained, gross. the only person who provided great service was the hotel pool attendent and the maid was cordial. NOT happy at all with the hotel. would not recommend. i understand past reviews (i shared my stay with my co-worker) said, reviews were bad!! i didn't look at the reviews and now have regrets that i didn't check them out before booking my stay!!! totally unhappy with your sheraton!!

Spent 4 days in Phonenix for a getaway with my son. The four points was the perfect home base for our activity:
> spring training (Cactus league baseball), golfing and fishing.
The hotel is conveniently located to Diablo Stadium (Angels spring training), great restaurants, golf courses and Lake Saguaro.
We liked the hotel room. It was a large room, with recently renovated furniture and amenities. Very comfortable beds. Stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. Happy to report no road noise in the room.
The unheated pool was a bit of a let down. But since we left snow to play in the Arizona sun - we braved the rather cool waters....
This hotel is a solid 3 stars. Comfortable, clean, with great beds. Work out facilites and pool area are a little weak but adequate.
Solid in-lobby bar (casual with great finger food) and gathering area.

Had an awful experience here. Walking to room through 4th floor hallway smelled more like an old smoking lounge. When I got to my room, my TV did not work and had a masking tape label on it "not singnal" which obviously meant it did not work. Flushed the toilet and it continued to run, jiggled the handle to make it stop and the handle fell off. There was a piece of copper wire on my floor along with a big brass staple, obviously they recently redid the bathroom, but did not clean up well. Just glad it did not end up in my foot. I would not stay here again, I would cancel my trip before staying here again.
