Dirty Hallways and musty smell- fans blowing dan and night in halls, dirty carpet, damged elevators, phone didn't work in room, remote for TV didn't work, staff unfriendly, very under staffed- no one working at Bar, or in Coffee/Snack shop. One girl at counter and she wasn't friendly. Halls are dimly lit, Ordered Room service bad food drink served in paper coffee cup. Just a poor excuse for a "Hotel under a major chains name. More like a low end roadside motel. 2 other guests that I was traveling with chose to relocate to another hotel because of the smell. I stayed but was not impressed at all by this property.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KRR7 Nice hotel - not so great front counter service
We liked the hotel but were disappointed by the front desk service. We were two families and we had two rooms. Our friends were locked out of their room several times due to hotel error. Other people were given the room and surprised to find it already occupied. The front desk did not apologize or try to improve the situation. Instead, they blamed my friends and questioned them several times about the validity of their room reservation. The front desk staff even came up to their room at 10pm (waking their child) asking them to come down to talk about the "problem" again! It was ridiculous and put a damper on our weekend vacation to San Antonio.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SLMM Second Chance?????
Stayed here in August 2013, my experience was not great (front desk staff were not helpful or friendly), thought I would give the hotel a second chance. This time, the front desk representative was great, friendly (older lady who was turning 50), my apologies for stating her age, but I think it says a lot. I reserved a king suite, but was placed in an accessible room ( I am perfectly healthy), I asked to be moved as I did not want to take a room away from someone who would need it-change went well. I thought the hotel had redeemed itself, until my last day, I asked if I could extend one additional night, as there was an issue with my flight, the young lady at the desk was rude, no eye contact, told me "no" without even double checking. I checked into another Four Points (the experience there was great). If I return, I think I will chose a different hotel, but if you want to be close to Riverwalk & don't mind a little rudeness, the hotel overall is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SkipO69 Great Stay at a Great Location
This hotel is located near the central downtown area but far enough away (2 blocks) to not feel hemmed in by the city.
Staff was very accomodating.
The one concern I had was that valet parking was to be provided but we self parked for 5 of the 6 nights there for the same fee as when the valet was there. I think either the valet should be present at all times or reduce the rate for the days not using the valet or advertise self parking for $16.00 - This will not keep me from staying at this location again.

I am a Gold level SPG member and I have stayed at many different Four Points properties in US and Canada. This was by far the worst. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It started with the check-in process where the front desk representative was not only not friendly or courteous, but rude. On the second day, when I approached the front desk about the free bottled water, I was told it is only free on the first day and then you have to pay. It was late and the manager was not available. From my other stays, I know this is not correct. On the third day, must have been a different housekeeping crew because they did replenish the free bottled water.
The food at the Peaberries Coffeehouse (bagel and muffins) was stale and very dry and hard. Don't know how old it was but the staff told me it was fresh.
The cleanliness of the rooms was also below average. The sheets and towels were clean but the mattress cover did not look very clean. The carpet looked old an stained. There was mold in the bathroom.
Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SusieQ Pros and Cons
Pros: Loved the bed, shower hot water, water pressure, abundance of washcloths, computer access in lobby, & breakfast.
Cons: Front desk staff customer service, phone courtesy & attitude on several occasions really needs improvement. No airport shuttle service. Rooms are outdated like the 80's.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Visitor2012 Overall acceptable.
The hotel itself was nice. I had a few issues. First, when I made the reservation over the phone, the clerck said they were located directly on the Riverwalk. She stated that they even had an elevator that went down to the Riverwalk level. However, the hotel was actually located about 3 blocks from the Riverwalk. I didn't mind the walk, but we specifically wanted a hotel on the Riverwalk. Second, we paid $12 a day parking and didn't even have a garaunteed parking spot in the hotel lot. We had to park in a "pay to park" lot adjacent to the hotel. Thankfully, the pre paid parking covered the lot also. Overall, the stay was nice and I would consider staying again.
