Even though we arrived 2 full days before July 4th...we received a 1st floor room with a view of the parking lot...the door to the room sticks and made an awful noise when opened or closed (forget about leaving/entering without waking everyone in the room up)...on July 4th we had to request the room to be made up no less than 2 times and it was finally done at ~5pm...our SPG free bottled water had already been opened and partially drunk when we arrived at the room...there was sheetrock damage in the bathroom by the shower...the pool is very small...the fitness center is sparse with equipment...the people at the front desk and bartender were nice...

Best part of the Hotel - it's located across the beach, near Pleasure Pier, and walking distance to nearby restaurants. We didn't have to do alot of driving to enjoy activities. Staff was very friendly but I was very disappointed that my SPG membership was not acknowledged and I had to mention it myself and request their SPG offer for members at check-in. Although we didn't request our linen to be changed, we thought it would be automatic, but it wasn't. Otherwise, we would stay here again.

We loved the location of this hotel. The price was good, and our room by the pool had a gorgeous view of the ocean. Employees were friendly. The rooms were very quiet and very spacious as well. The bed was very comfortable to sleep in.
I walked right out the front door and went for a long gorgeous run along the seawall. The hotel is almost directly across the pleasure pier and walking distance to everything really. GREAT location.
My only issue with the room was the lack of darker blinds. The bright sun came in the room early and would wake the kids up too early. I like it when you can completely darken the hotel room curtains for better rest.

Where to start? The moment we walked in the hotel, you could tell that housekeeping and management really didn't spend a lot of time worrying about cleanliness. Our room was filthy. Bed smelled like body odor. There were little hairs in the shower. Had not been dusted in quite some time. Complained to front desk and they cleaned the room. Then they didn't clean the room at all the second day. Then third day, they didn't give us any toilet paper, even though we had very little left. Did not have shampoo or a working room phone during the entire stay. The picture online showed a clear view of the beach, but all I could see from the room that I rented was a huge gift shop, They didn't have a single junior suite on the other side of the hotel, so it would have been impossible to take a picture from any of the rooms of the type I rented with the view they showed online. On the other side of the hotel where the less expensive rooms are located is the pleasure pier, so you actually get a better view by staying in a less expensive room, which makes no sense. I know the gift shop blocking our view has been in the exact same location for years, longer than the hotel's existence. The worst of all was the air conditioner. It was one of the window units, not central air. My room temperature never seemed to settle. The AC was constantly kicking on and off, which was loud, but it made it impossible to sleep after 8 am as the room would become extremely hot and then get cold after the AC kicked in. I would literally wake up sweating. If you're going to spend the money for the suite, you should seriously rethink that decision.

The hotel has the potential to be really nice. more attention to detail needed....floors, walls and a good scrubbing of the room was due...the grime was a not from one or two missed areas, more like a few years of it....

The AC unit was very noisy and kept waking me up at night when it would cycle on and off. Front desk personnel on the night shift weren't very knowledgeable. I asked for a luggage rack to set my suitcase on and the front desk staff didn't know what it is (even though it's in the closet in every room in the hotel). Finally, the one time that I called Guest Services in the evening, no one answered. I tried calling back immediately and still no one answered. I cannot recommend this hotel to others.

Our stay was for five days. Day one, ac was broken, carpet was wet, ceiling was mildewed, yet we didn't get moved to a new room until after noon, thus taking up half a day of our short vacation ( did not get a discount off of room rate when we checked out). Day two, leak in bathroom from room above us, did get fixed, but another half day waiting in room. Next three days o.k. . I know this will not be published, just wanted to say it anyway.

The room was nice, comfortable and a good location. We realized the toilet was loose and call for maintenance. He came with only a screw driver and had to go for other tools. He came back with just a pair of pliers and appeared to tighten the nuts. The next evening before bed we noticed that the floor was sticky and that the toilet was leaking. We checked out the next morning and informed the staff and the only response was "oh ok" and that was it!
