As others have written, I was a bit skeptical staying outside of Manhattan. However, this location is in a quiet,older mixed residential/light commercial neighborhood. The locals were friendly and the area was very quiet and safe, even when walking from the subway station well after midnight on each night of our stay.
The rooms are small, but normal by NYC standards, and VERY comfortable. The bathroom was what I'd consider large. The NYC skyline view was great! Our only complaint was the lack of drawer space.
The subway (and a great local diner) are only three blocks away, making the trip into Manhattan less than 20 minutes.

I have never stayed in Long Island City before, and I was a little anxious about it. Luckly, I chose the right place, and it's actually a cool town, too.
Brand new. Stayed right next to the patio that has a stunning panorama of the NYC skyline.
The staff was great - had my room ready exactly when I needed it.
So close to any line you need to jump on to get into the city. Had room service and loved it as well!

Staying in Long Island City was not exactly what I had planned; however, it turned out to be a great experience. The hotel staff was very accomodating, the location was very convenient to the metro, which had a direct line right into the heart of Manhattan. Our room had a spectacular view of Manhattan and the room was very comfortable and clean. Like I said the hotel turned out to be a wonderful surprise. Thank you Four Points by Sheraton Long Island City staff!!!!

I stayed here 4 nights in February while in NY for a business trip. When I returned home I noticed a $200 charge was added to my account for incidentals. The hotel claims that I smoked in my room, damaged a bed spread and brought a dog into the room.
I do not smoke nor was I with a smoker in the room at any point. I do not own a dog nor would I ever bring one on a business trip. No explanation or proof of these accusations has been brought forth.
Staff has been terribly unhelpful. Alan, the hotel manager offered to investigate with his staff and return my call the next day. It's been weeks, he refuses to return my phone calls and is completely avoiding the issue. Meanwhile the $200 charge still stands.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel.

Before checking out of the hotel i was having a good exprerience at the hotel. I thought this was convenient location wise, and the room was comfortable and the staff was helpeful in helping me navigate through town. My problem with the hotel occurred when i was checking out on my last. I was told that i was already check out of the hotel and my credit card was charge without my consent. I inform the front attendant Kostas that i would like to pay my bill using a different method of payment. He inform me that the account has been closed and that "it doesn't matter you can pay the credit card" It took 40 min for my issue to get resolved and i made it just in time for my flight. the manager still had to come in to correct the issue and contact me when on my cell once it was resolved. i was not happy with the way things was handled at all.

The hotel is 3 blocks from the subway which has a train that runs into the city every 10 minutes. You can also use subway and bus for the trip to and from LaGuardia Airport.
The food at the cafe is good and very reasonable.
The staff is excellent in all respects.
So if you do not mind a 20 minute ride into Manhattan by subway, you can save about half the cost of lodging.

Let me start off my saying the hotel is nice. The staff are friendly and attentive. However parking is terrible. When I came to check-in there was a laundry van blocking the 15 first come first serve (pay) parking area. Called the front desk and they told me to wait 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I decided to park on the street and walk to the hotel. The next day I came back to the hotel the driveway was yet again blocked this time I found what I thought was a close spot and parked there. 1 hour later I found my car had been towed. The sign in front of my car said parking was ok. But the sign behind my car said no parking. Signage is very confusing. Be warned NYPD will tow your car ($185 charge) plus an additional $60 for a ticket.
It is truely sad that this facility does not have accommodations for easy parking like all other properties I have been to. The staff, restaurant, and room are excellent. But the location and parking situation make it so I will not be coming back to this property.

They said all rooms are same.
Some of girl staff and man manger have no manners while you asked about benefits.
This hotel is no executive lounge.
