Rated 5 out of 5 by newegg Great Value and Location
I stayed 5 nites and had two connecting rooms for my family. The rooms are basic, but everything is setup right. Very clean rooms with great floor to ceiling windows that look over vibrant tree-lined residential area. The hotel is at the intersection of Diagonal Avenue and Rambla Poblenou and is very close to a great shopping center and neighborhood streets and shops. The walk to the subway is about 10 minutes, but you wont notice the distance if the weather is nice. The beach is a very pleasant 20 minute walk, Cab fare to the gothic quarter is about 10-12 euros.
Breakfast was good with assortment of eggs, cheese, meats, breads and beverages. I noticed that there were no potatoes (bummer)
There is some street noise in the hotel rooms, It may bother some, but this must be expected in a city hotel. Overall, this hotel is an excellent, un-cluttered value, Its not a luxury hotel, but we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to come back if we are in Barcelona again.
The taxi ride to/from the airport was about 30-40 Euros, depending on traffic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DaveyB Superb base
We stayed here for 4 nights and everything was superb, very friendly staff, breakfast and spotless rooms.
5 minutes walk to Metro or bus outside door.
15 minute walk to beach, plenty bar/restaurants in area which is very relaxed.
Would definitely stay again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by skrosvik Good hotel, but still something's missing
Stayed here for three nights ealier in April.
As an SPG platinum member I was upgraded to an Comfort Room upon arrival. This is their highest room category.
I was rather letdown by the room, it was just a large naked room, with no additional seating, no coffee table, nothing. The TV was placed on the working desk - situated far from the bed. This made watching tv a little bit annoying, as the tv was far away.
I have no idea why they haven't placed any sofas or loungers or chairs in their larger rooms - most of the other Four Points Hotels have this in their premium room.
I also wish that the hotel had a swimming pool - since the hotel is newly built. BTW - the design of the hotel felt kinda outdated. I also had some problems with the WC. It would not "recharge" after flushing. So every time I flushed I had to open the top of the WC and push the pump inside, in order to make it pump water inside the tank.
The staff was responsive and pleasant. Kudos to them.
The bar was nice, the food in the restaurant was nice. Very cheap as well! I just wish they had some more comfortable chairs in the bar - they have only high bar chairs.
I enjoyed the location as well. Perfect! Very easy to get downtown by bus, tram or metro. I also walked downtown a few times - a long walk, but nice. The hotel is only 15 minute walk from the Gaudi cathedral as well :) And the hotel is situated between two large malls :) Making shopping very easy!
PS! Beware of pickpocketing. A woman sitting in the bar lost her camera and glasses. Seems like the thieves even operate inside the hotels :( I was in the bar myself when that happened. Very unpleasant!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ShellyBoston Great Hotel, Good Location
Having never been to Barcelona, I was so very pleased with this hotel. Very clean and in a good location. A short easy walk to the Metro (get a T10 pass). The staff is helpful and courteous, everyone speaks English. My husband was disappointed that the Fitness Center wasn't ready, but it should be shortly. You can go down the street (in almost any direction) for a less expensive breakfast than offered in the hotel. Stay on a higher floor, the windows are not soundproof. There is no iron in the room, but there is a hairdryer. They only give you exactly enough towels for the number of people in the room, so if one gets dirty during the day, there is no extra towel. (I'm sure you can ask for more). These are minor inconveniences for an American travelling in Europe and probably very standard throughout Europe. Overall this was a very nice hotel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jean65 Loved every minute we were there!!
I love this hotel location. Thought Diagonal Street might be too busy, but had no trouble sleeping. The side street was wonderful. We walked it to the beach, had many meals in the outdoor restaurants. It was so peaceful and yet refreshing.
told everyone on the ship it was the greatest place to stay, in fact it made us want to look for an apartment in the area for an extended stay!! Diagonal made it super easy to get to from airport and to the port. We went to Sagrada Familiar and Las Ramblas easily too.Stay was too short.
