As a first-time visitor to Spain, I spent three nights in a Preferred Room with my fiancée, and we were delighted by this property. The location was just what we were looking for - tucked away in the real Barcelona, far from the tourist chaos, yet easy enough to reach by public transport. The design of the hotel's exterior and interior alike is impressive, and more reminiscent of Le Méridien than Four Points. The room was basic in furniture and amenities, but had a spacious feel for its size, and the floor-to-ceiling windows were simply gorgeous. The bathroom was adequate, and the bed very comfortable.
Service was excellent at all times, and the level of English spoken by the staff exceeded the standards expected of Spain. However, what we really loved about this property is the restaurant. While most hotels get away with charging ludicrous prices for in-house dining (counting on convenience), here we were able to get a full three-course meal for less than 20€ p.p.! Even more impressively, the menu wasn't just standard tourist fare, but imaginative and intriguing dishes that you'd expect from upmarket restaurants at La Rambla, for a fraction of the price (try the seafood paella!).
I wish I could appear more objective and say something negative about this property, but I just wasn't able to come across any flaw during my stay. Despite being a Four Points, this property has become one of my favourites across all Starwood brands, as it's amazing value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend it to cost-conscious leisure and business travellers alike.

Everything was great except the shower curtains are only thin liners and pull against your body while showering. It is like plastic food wrap on your body if the bathroom door is open. On the 11th floor the water temperature sometimes spontaneously gets very hot due to variations in water pressure.

My Family and I stayed in the largest available room size, the comfort room. We found it excessively small. The hall ways and elevators were extremely hot. The AC did not adequately cool our room. Rooms with two (2) beds contained twin size beds; therefore, families with kids will find sleeping arrangements to be a bit difficult. We opted for a room with a king size bed because it provided more sleeping surface. I found it bothersome that the hotel charged for rollaway beds, when considering the value that our room offered. A coffee maker was not available in our room. On the bright side, the hotel´s restaurant consistently served a great continental breakfast. Our room and the hotel´s premise was kept clean and appeared well maintained. We found the hotel staff to be always cordial.

Having never been to Barcelona, I was so very pleased with this hotel. Very clean and in a good location. A short easy walk to the Metro (get a T10 pass). The staff is helpful and courteous, everyone speaks English. My husband was disappointed that the Fitness Center wasn't ready, but it should be shortly. You can go down the street (in almost any direction) for a less expensive breakfast than offered in the hotel. Stay on a higher floor, the windows are not soundproof. There is no iron in the room, but there is a hairdryer. They only give you exactly enough towels for the number of people in the room, so if one gets dirty during the day, there is no extra towel. (I'm sure you can ask for more). These are minor inconveniences for an American travelling in Europe and probably very standard throughout Europe. Overall this was a very nice hotel.

I had an excellent stay at this Four Points, and it can completely be attributed to the hotel manager. We rented bikes, and when my chain broke many miles away from the hotel, he literally drove what appeared to be his personal vehicle with a replacement bike and maintained communication with us while we waited. I wish I could remember his name, but he made our trip.
He should be commended.

This was my third visit to this particular property and I've found the rooms quite comfortable and the staff very accommodating. The facilities are clean and the breakfast buffet offers a good variety of breakfast favorites. There are only two problems I've encountered: (1) There is often a long wait for the elevators and: (2) The rooms do not have individual settings to switch between heat and cool air; this means that when the heating system is on there is no way to cool your room at all because the windows will not open and the air conditioning system will not engage.
