I'm sitting here in my room at 11 pm listening to every word of the guy on the phone in the room next door and the rumble of every semi blazing down the 101.
Wanting to drowned out this drone I pick up my iPad to maybe catch a podcast... oh that's right my iPad has been bricked since I checked in to this dump yesterday.
According to the staff, the Wifi here has issues with Apple products... its normal they say. Well maybe I'll crack open the laptop and get some work done. Oh wait... now my laptop doesn't want to connect either. After 3 or 4 retries I manage to get a 100 kbps connection. Yay! Where am I again? Oh, that's right, Silicon Valley. The irony.

Rated 1 out of 5 by HotelGuest72013 Dissapointing service all the way around
I booked here based on a recommendation from a couple getting married. The rate seemed good and the location perfect. When we arrived, it took about 10 minutes to locate a clean room. The first room we were shown smelled of smoke and we asked to be switched. Another room was found and this one was satisfactory. We went to the wedding and returned around 10 pm with our 2 kids wanting to get ready for bed since we were going to San Francisco the following day. We couldn’t find a parking spot anywhere except for around the back of the hotel and had to walk most of the way around the hotel to get into the lobby. When we got to our room, my key didn't work. I went to the front desk to find out why. I was informed our room had been switched and that the hotel staff had physically moved all of my personal belongings to a new room. They told me another guest had prepaid for that exact room and it shouldn’t have been given to me. I was told they had no way to contact me, but I got e-mails from them confirming my reservation and when I made the reservation, I put in my phone number as was required. That number wasn't even tried. I understand mistakes happen, but I feel it is unacceptable to have my personal items be moved anywhere, by anyone besides me, without some sort of approval by me. After being assured that everything was moved, we went to take showers only to find there was no shampoo in the dispenser in the shower. To make things worse, when packing up to check out the next morning, we realized a book and a toy that my 4 year old daughter had brought were missing. We called the front desk and they said they would look. After about 15 minutes, they called and said no one was answering the door. I told them we need to do something because we are headed out now. After another 10 minutes, I went to the front desk and they were calling the guest in the room and woke them up. Then they asked the guest to look for it. After the guest couldn’t find the items, they asked them to look again. I told them not to bother the other guest since it wasn't the guest's fault and if I was that guest I would be upset. The items were not found and my wife had to carry my crying daughter to the car. I have never had an experience like this at a hotel and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by hjensen Constantly battling with Staff/ Employee
Staff are always unaware of what's going on. My boss booked the room for a month and they always seem out of synch and always un aware of me and my team's booking. We are suppose to get the free breakfast and 5persent lunch and dinner. if you don't mention the 5percent they wont remind you. About the free breakfast....for the whole month every day they always say we don't get it....after complaining and verying with the manager and standing and waiting for like 20 minutes everyday then they give it to you. The funny thing too is it is the same staff that knows we are suppose to have free breakfast and give us a hard time each day. We are suppose to stay there for 3-4 more months but because of this issues that we decided that go back to where I was staying before.

My partner and I booked this hotel because it was a decent price for a two day stay. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. We got a room facing the pool so the sun didn't hit our room. Our room was cool but the hotel hallways and elevators were very warm. The hotel was quiet, the rooms were spacious, and there's a nice shopping center a mile or so from the hotel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by traveler0412 Great bed - little else to offer
Check in at this hotel was a disaster. Long lines, unresponsive staff, room requested were not available. Those are all things that aren't ideal but can be understood. The check in clerk was completely flustered, unkempt (huge stain on his shirt), and poorly training. The kicker was when someone walked up while hotel clerk was taking care of someone else and said "my key doesn't work - please reprogram it." The clerk didn't ask for ID or anything. Just asked for what room and reprogrammed it. In my book that violates hotel security 101! Probably won't be coming back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by AZWalter Hope this helps.
This hotel was comfortable and quiet. The reason it was only rated good is because there were a number of maintenance issues that should have been caught in any routine inspection. These comments apply to Room 253. The handle for the bath/shower was loose and needs to be tightened with an allen wrench. At the outside end of the tub (where it meets the wall), there is a piece of tile missing. That is unsightly and exposes the drywall to any splash from the shower. The toilet seat is actually too small for the toilet bowl. That results in skin contact with the toilet bowl and is uncomfortable. The sink and faucet combination is a really poor design and results in splash that comes out of the sink when the water hits the stopper. And to top it all off, I thought that the bed was too soft. Food at the restaurant was very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by robin59 This property is on the way up!
I spoke directly with GM Marc Farris- only onboard here for 6 weeks- regarding the poor reviews on SPG. I did this prior to our arrival. Mr. Farris listened and assured me that our room would be quiet and clean. It was a wonderful respite and we were subsequently upgraded to a suite.
Mr. Farris takes his new position very seriously and is intent on turning this property around. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. The restaurant and bar, adjacent to the property, is not under SPG management. It really could use some work!

Rated 3 out of 5 by THawkins Needs improvements
While the room was clean and decently appointed, there are several improvements that need to be made. The restaurant is overpriced, food quality is mediocre at best, and the staff needs (in the very least) some basic training. The restaurant was not busy, but we still waited nearly 20min to place our order and we were never asked if we wanted drinks. In addition, the night check in staff gave us (obviously) wrong travelling tips, tried multiple times to check us into rooms under repair, and failed to offer us any perks with our Gold status (the last being the least of our concerns). The morning check-out staff was courteous and apologized for the issues we had.
