Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheraton knows how to spoil these girls! Perfect location, great balcony (worth every penny!) and the most attentive staff I have ever experienced. Our manager John was wonderful. Made us feel like we 'belonged' to the hotel, and made us feel safe and welcomed back every time we returned. Neal was a fantastic surprise, as he was quick and knowledgeable with advice for our eating, and dancing needs. This 'Girl's Trip' was a great success, first of all because of the girls, and second because of the Sheraton and it's stellar staff. Oh, and super comfy beds. We miss you guys already! Rated 1 out of 5 by This hotel needs better management It took 40 minutes to check into the hotel. Their computer was doing "updates". They physically had to see which rooms were clean and available. The water supply for the entire city was down and the hotel only supplied one small bottle of water the first night. You could not use water to brush teeth. The toilet seat of the room was broken and they ignored the request to fix. Light and fan out in bathroom and ignored. Taxi service was difficult because Bourbon street gets barracaded during the evenings. Walking on Bourbon street at night is hazardous. Only one of two elevators worked the entire week. The only good thing is that the beds and bed linens were excellent. March 7, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by This hotel has a very good location & history The 1st shock, we were NOT aware parking was $30 a night for GUEST. I could well afford it but its simply extortion. The 2nd surprise was entering the bathroom in rm 333 barefoot and stepping on the exposed carpet tacking. Management had to know about obviously bad maintenance. The 3rd disappointment was there was no frig or microwave. We arrived on Monday and the restaurant was closed. We had stayed at this location BEFORE it was the 4 points, but it has since lost its old world charm. The lobby's now modern, uninteresting and no longer befitting the unique history of the building. Too cheap-only provided 1 free bottle of water in room on arrival. Profits are more important than pleasing guest. April 8, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Average The hotel was average overall, it had a nice feel to it and a good restaurant. I didn't like the location, being on Bourbon street and having to walk those streets were gross. Staff was nice and friendly but I felt they didn't always do what I thought they should be able to do. I stayed there 5 days, and they separated my days based on a final four discount. I was told I would stay in the same room so I didn't have to check out and check back in, but they called and said we had to check out. Just made it way more difficult then it needed to be. Then I wanted a late checkout and they said no without even checking my room number to see if anyone would be checking in. I didn't like that. April 11, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great location, poor facility, apathetic staff Stayed at the four points during a conference. Location is fantastic on Bourbon street but hotel seems very used (maybe because of location). Wifi internet connection was not working during my whole stay and despite several mentions to the staff they were unconcerned. First call to guest services on the topic I was hung up on, second they said they had to call the provider, third (the next day) they said they had called the provider but no response. Didn't seem to care. Defintiely recommend staying if you planning to party. Avoid if you need to work. May 3, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not the best hotel in New Orleans While the location of this hotel is great if you just want a bed to sleep - I experienced a number of problems during my stay. First, the hotel elevators were not working properly during my staff and I was forced to use the stairs numerous times. Second, the hotel expereiced a loss of hot water and I was forced to take a nice cold shower. Third, since I was there for a business trip a good night sleep was necessary but at this hotel a good night sleep is near impossible. The noice level coming from Bourbon Street is so loud that you just can't sleep. Stay at another Starwood property. May 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel Overall Every thing was perfect. The rooms are not large but it did not really matter to us. We were only there to sleep and spent much of our time in the French Quarter. The bed was the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. I have since ordered the pillows and pillow cases. The mattress is coming next. We staid in room 403, close to the elevator and ice machine and had a private balcony with a side view of Bourbon St. Since if was in the middle of October there was noise to keep you awake from the streets below. The temperature range was perfect. Low 60's to highs around 80. Great for touring the Quarter. By the way, we took the Amtrack train down from Memphis, $50.00 bucks each way and the cab fare to the hotel was less than 5 min. The cab fare was only $8.50. A total of $58.50 to come from Memphis to hotel front door. Winner Winner, chicken dinner. Cheers October 23, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Up to SPG Standards We were quite disappointed with the hotel in that it ranked lowest in all of the Starwood properties we have visited. The staff seemed poorly trained and one, the bartender, even rude. While the room was fairly comfortable given that it had Sweet Sleeper beds, the cleaning (or lack thereof) left a lot to be desired. Apparently, the hotel has a shortage of vacuum cleaners, as the carpets were dirty both in the room and in the hallways, and the bathroom floor was obviously not cleaned properly. The pool was empty during our stay, with no notification to guests. The wi-fi service was down for at least two days. The housekeeping staff conversed very loudly in the hallways very early in the morning yet, on one day, our room wasn't cleaned until we requested that it be done late in the afternoon. The only compliment we can give the hotel is on their Wednesday night opera program, which was very nice. May 10, 2013
