My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights from 1st to 5th January and the hotel didn't fail to please.
We had complimentary upgrade to a deluxe river view room although the room wasn't actually facing the river as the view was from an angle. However, it was clean and well-appointed though it would have been more comfortable if there was a smallish armchair so that I didn't need to sit on the bed to read or work on my iPad.
The location is great as it's walking distance to everything - SouthBank with its galleries and museum, the city centre, Eagle Pier, City Botanic Gardens, etc.
Service and staff were excellent. We were greeted warmly on arrival and at The Eatery. We had interesting friendly chats with Jaime, the Chief Concierge and service at The Eatery where we had daily breakfasts and three dinners was second to none. Of special mention are Christopher, the supervisor and Rowena who were attentive, friendly and professional.
All in all, we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

its good to see the starwood quality standards are high no matter which starwood hotel you are at, consistent. Well rested night especially with the blackout curtains which was one of my particular favorite things about this hotel.
But the biggest highlight of the trip of the professional staff and high quality service we received while dinning at the hotel restaurant. Staff went out of their way to serve us so late at night well pass closing time. almost every table was being used at after 10pm yet staff continued to work hard under pressure, just hope they get rewards for their tireless effort.

I don't understand why some properties don't understand that without SPG loyal clients, they would struggle to survive these days. G20 this week in Brisbane meant although there was better rooms available, there would be no upgrade for anyone as I was told when checking in!
Then i was waiting endlessly on the phone to have room service only to then go down stairs to The Eatery only to be told that the reason i was the only person dining was because the hotel occupancy rate was very low until later in the week when the G20 comes to Brisbane!!!! i rest my case!!!!
Hotel manager please take note and don't make excuses!!

I have already written a review on Trip Advisor, but we were very happy with our stay. The little touches for my birthday were much appreciated, and your staff could not be faulted. My wife loved the omelette station at breakfast. My only concerns were: valet parking was too expensive, so we parked at Festival for $11.98 for the night. and secondly, the reception area does not come across as very professional, and definitely needs a revamp.

It's definitely worth the time to say that this was a great place to stay but I wanted to highlight the service which was outstanding.
The staff were all excellent - friendly, quick to assist, genuinely nice, and always smiling. From the woman who made my fresh poached egg this morning, to the gentleman who helped me with my bags; to the two smiling girls at check in and the sunny, friendly guy who took my room service order - it is the best customer experience when the staff are genuinely happy and helpful.
The hotel is in a good area. The facilities are immaculate. The breakfast was awesome - plenty of choice and lots of fresh food. My bed was so comfortable. ..
Really happy to find this friendly place and will definitely stay here again.

Interesting that my first review was not published, or pulled so I thought I better do this again in far less detail.
The front counter staff were not up to scratch and made for a very unpleasant stay for myself and other guests that I invited. The GM did sort things out after I left but if front end staff were properly trained in the first place there would have been no need for the GM to step in.
I stayed with other Platinum members as well and they were also thoroughly underwhelmed. I would only class it a one or two star SPG property.

This hotel is clean, modern and has a very friendly atmosphere. Its location is excellent if one wants to explore the inner city. I was impressed with the friendliness and professionalism shown by staff.
