Rated 4 out of 5 by A bit out of the way, but worth the effort... It’s really good to be back. Platinum recognition is great – thank you Mervyn and Faisal for the upgrade. Rooms are spacious and bathed in natural light. If you get a sea-facing room, the view is absolutely awesome! I love the new dispensers in the bathroom – far more environmental compared to the typical tiny bottles or tubes of shampoo, shower gel, etc. Breakfast selection was great, though the wait-staff were a bit overwhelmed when the restaurant was full. Just one suggestion: bananas should be included in the spread. There were a few other minor hitches but these were quickly rectified and within the acceptable range, especially considering the hotel category. I would, however, like to raise the issue of transport again: the hotel is not near any malls or restaurants, so it would make sense to provide complimentary transport to the city. It offers only one ride to the city (11am), on a first-come-first-served basis and one ride back (4pm). It also has a round-trip ride to the night market in the evening. I suggest increasing the frequency of these rides, for the convenience of guests. August 6, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Shown Improvement Booked two rooms for me and my family to celebrate my uncle's birthday. Wanted to use my suite night awards for my room but was upgraded. Special thanks to Vernice Chew for arranging everything for my uncle's room and even upgraded his room to a sea view room. It was really pleasant and everything was well planned. Thank you for your effort and hard work to ensure we had a great time here. There are still staffs that were just having the don't know don't care attitude. It's best if you needed anything, just go down to front desk and ask for it. Night shift staff were not helpful at all. Gave promises but nothing was carried out. That's the only disappointment. On the whole, it was pleasant this time round at least compared to my past stay here this year. July 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel by the beach Decently maintained with sufficient on site amenities for a quick business trip. The beach is surprisingly clean and well maintained. Takes a while to get here from the airport. Good place if the focus is to spend time at Batu Ferringhi and Georgetown. July 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by should channel some resources to keep beach and water clean it would be awesome if they could keep the beach and water cleaner and also ban outdoor smoking completely as the smoke wafts into the lobby and other ground floor areas when people smoke near the beach due to the sea breeze. separately, the new gym with new equipment is great and I hope they maintain it that way. lifts can get a bit dirty sometimes though.. especially with sand but otherwise this is great hotel, clean, friendly staff, generally good (not great) food at the restaurant too. overall an amazing hotel despite being only four points. Rated 4 out of 5 by The Staff at Front desk,and housekeeping is great! The front desk ladies was of great help during my stay. They helped me to set us my brothers room for his surprise birthday with bed deco and cake. They also greeted me when i was moving around. Please reward them they are: Kimberly and Afinas. My Chandra from housekeeping was of greet help in the decoration. Very bubbly guy. June 3, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by A Texan visits Penang First, let me say that I stayed at this hotel on a two week business trip. I traveled to Penang from Austin,Texas. During my two week stay, the entire staff worked very hard to make me feel welcome and indeed succeeded at making me feel welcome. Shashi, Deen, Thea, and Gary the driver were all excellent and made me feel very welcome. For Westerners that may be considering choosing this hotel, DO IT! The staff will make you feel welcome. The location is ideal. You can walk or run on the beach or just sit on the deck. The food is very good at the hotel restaurant and there is good local food available nearby. (Less than a 10 minute walk). The facilities are excellent, (fitness center etc.) the view is outstanding, and the people are sincere about making you feel welcome. One final tip. Rent Gary the driver for a three or four hour tour of George Town. You won't be disappointed. He is the best tour guide on the island! March 30, 2015
