Rated 4 out of 5 by SJELLY This hotel had very nice rooms.
The hotel needs to upgrade fitness equipment. The treadmill is dangerous. It slips during run.

We arrived for a week long stay during the holiday week. While the facilities were nice, the room doors were heavy and slammed when they closed, causing loud noises during the evening and early morning hours. We were especially disappointed in that this property is listed as family friendly, but they have a policy against any external devices being connected to their TVs. Our kids brought their gaming system to play and watch movies, but the staff only apologized half heartedly and explained they do not allow this.

This Four Points Sheraton is a simple hotel. It seems they have done some interior upgrades as the building itself seems older. The interior is nice and simple. The room is also. There 3 floors and I was placed on the 3rd floor. The room is simple. The bathroom seems upgraded as it was clean, simple, and newer. It had marble sink, newer tiles, newer bath/shower. The entryway has nice laminate floors which leads to the room with newer carpet. Other reviews mentioned noise, but my stay was quiet and uneventful. However, I can imagine how noise can potentially be a problem as this building has very open public space. Any noises out there can potentially amplify and be heard from in the rooms. Other reviewers also talk about how this properties isn't as nice as others, however they don't seem to be specific what other properties they are comparing to. This is a Four Points. It should not be compared to a Westin, W, and the like. From a Customer Service and Check in point of view, it is good like it usually is. My only complaint would be the mattress. Personally, I think it is an old mattress as it is extremely soft. I doubt there is such a thing as "super soft" new mattresses. I'd give up any extra niceties for a perfectly supportive bed for a good night's sleep. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are using points as it is a Category 2. As of this writing, the rate was around $90, so you may potentially do better at another Starwood property in San Diego for that rate. The location of this property is outside of downtown San Diego (under 10 miles from the airport).

Rated 4 out of 5 by Wildcats14 Great Hotel for the Price
Overall the hotel was great. Complimentary airport transportation and transportation within several miles to the malls and Old Town, etc.. Staff was great and very welcoming. Booked my reservation online via San Diego Tourism. Nothing to walk to around the hotel , but the shuttle is very convenient. Only recommendation is to bring extension cords if you want to have electricity next to the bed. Unable to access the outlet behind the bed, so I strung 2 extension cords together so I could charge my phone next to the bed. My phone is my alarm clock so it needs to charge overnight. The hotel has large open hallways and was very quiet.

I began staying here in October of 2011. I have always found the staff to be very courteous and helpfull. My room is always spotless when I return from work each day. The food is excelent, from the breakfast buffet to the legendary "Last Supper" for government travelers on Thursday evenings. I would have to say that the Montfield Club is one of the best government travel programs in the area. The presenceof Mr. Burni, the hotel owner was also very refresshing. If there are any drawbacks, I guess it is the fact that my room overlooks the roof, but the room quality more than makes up for it.

The service at the desk was excellent and informative. My room-service "fit" breakfast was reasonable and ample, as well as being delicious. It was also promptly delivered by a freindly staff member.
Our meeting hall was initially cool, but staff, upon request, raised it to a comfortable level.
The soup and sandwich buffet for lunch was delicious and a necessarily quick meal.
I have registered for two more seminars in March, 2012 at your hotel, because of the amenities in the room and the other comments made above.

It's not every hotel you walk in whose staff remembers you! Nor, one where the desk clerk sees you and gives you a hug, or a bartender who asks you how the status of your home purchase is going, nor an owner who brings you cigars after dinner. But, at the Sheraton San Diego 4 Points...that's how they roll!
