I checked-in 6:45pm on Friday 9/13/13.
I asked the front desk for a quiet room. The lady didn't seem to even hear what I said. I got a room next to a noisy family with kids.
We were praying in the big ballroom in the 2nd floor. Every chandelier had spider webs and half of the lamps were broken :(
There was a table outside with food on it Friday night to Saturday night. No staff member was bothered by it. What a nice gift for all of the fly's.
Last year I had the same experience. I don't like this hotel. The only reason I stayed there is because of Yom Kippur's prayers that were held there.

The breakfast at restaurant was not met my expectation since the manager at restaurant denied to have my breakfast to go. My rate including the two breakfast and my wife was not able to go to the restaurant. I called to SPG Platinum designed line and the staff called to front desk, but the issue never be resolved and I also left a briefly message to the hotel manager, I have not received any call back to discuss over the issue. I was so disappointed to take away my rights and services.

We attended the Faz new years eve event and booked a room to stay after the event. It was very convenient to walk through the garden by the pool to our room at 2am.
The room was perfect, the bed and pillows where very comfortable. In the morning we returned to Faz for brunch then headed home at noon. Overall a perfect experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cGoins24 super comfy bed!
My husband and I stayed here while we werw attending a wedding nearby. The room was nice but the bed and the pillows were so comfortable. It was also noce to have the piece of mind that u needed a key to enter the lobby after hours and a key to enter yoir building at anytime.
The only negative was that there wasn't an elevator to get to the second floor. It was a pain to haul ou r bags up stairs. Otherwise we would stay here again. Oh they also offered a shuttle service to and from the hotel to the weddding site. Very convienent however they only had room for 7 in the van during each trip and they only made two trips. Not the best odds of getting a ride, plus there was the fear of not getting a ride back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sunshinenov2013 Been there a few times
Overall, it's good, but a few compliant areas that could be fixed.
* Staff was two weeks new, didn't know where the workout facility was
* Cold days, breakfast had cold syrup and pancakes. Really, very cold syrup...?
* Cleaning staff always cleaning the front entrance area between 7:30am and 8:00, high traffic morning time, yellow signs everywhere that the floor is wet. Can they not wait until a non high traffic time?
Everything else was very nice.

The hotel is older and has a smell in the hallways and rooms. I spent 4 nights nad have to have four sets of keys made...although the staff was polite, they did nothing to reimburse me for my troubles. If one thing had been offered to compensate me for my troubles I may left a happier guest - instead I am frustrated. Another thing that was upsetting was the "if you forgo housekeeping services" you will receive additional SPG points or gift certificates for selected resturants upon check out. BUT what they don't tell you is that the only restaurant on the "selected list" is their on site restaurant. Hmmm...I am checking out and before I rush off to my next thing let me spend time and money at your restaurant. What a scam.

A frequent visitor, I enjoy the restaurant, the garden and fountains poolside, the cleanliness, the staff, making coffee in my room and getting a cup to go when I leave in the morning, plus daily newspaper (including crossword for spouse). It's like home with an upgrade.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sue66 hotel fine but difficulty with staff with checkin and checkout
The hotel was fine. The housekeeping staff was great. The staff at the desk were incompetant. I had reservations for two rooms for 5 nights. One night was regular rate, two wedding rates and the last two regular rate. I was told that I would have to check in and out three different times and get three different sets of keys & it confused them that I was paying for 2 rooms. I had to ask for the manager and she took care of it. On checkout I again had difficulty paying for two rooms. The credit card charges were correct but the receipts I received upon checkout were not.

No recognition for being Platinum. Was not offered SPG preferred Bldg. or room. Room was LRG, but multiple burn holes in carpet.
Fitness center trash can overflowing, no towels. Left behind water bottles & dirty towels on workout equip. TV channels very limited, no ESPN channel on wall TV?

Rated 5 out of 5 by gingerjumbie A picturesque gem -- with beautiful gardens
It was nothing short of pure delight to wake up to the sight of colorful flowers and quietly flowing fountains just outside our room with its own private patio. It's very well located and the housekeeping staff was wonderful.
The bed was comfy and the bathroom was very clean. What would we change? Better coffee and the possibility of checking in and printing travel documents for flights from our room to be picked up later at the front desk. Also a shuttle service to the OAK airport would really help. And that would make Four Points exceptional!

I usually stay at a different property in Pleasanton, but decided to try this hotel for the value. What a pleasant surprise! Agree with other reviewers re: even though it is an older property, the grounds are beautiful and it is truly a little oasis-- very quiet, and it met our needs. I am a loyal SPG member with Platinum status, and was given an upgrade to an executive suite which was extremely spacious, quiet, and comfortable; buffet breakfast at Faz was great. This hotel was so good that it will now become my go to place when I am in the area.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CARRIE12 Room had a previous smoker in it
I usually stay at this hotel every month and stay in the exact same room. This time after I go to my usual room, I unpacked everything and then went into the bathroom and was overwhelmed by the smell of cigarette smoke. Apparently the person who had the room prior to my arrival decided that although it was a non-smoking room - that the bathroom was ok to smoke in. Then, when I went to sleep at night, all of the pillows smelled of smoke! It pretty much kept me awake all night. Worst room experience of all my stays. Other than that, all was fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Joe166 Room issues
I have stayed here before and had pretty good luck. This time, the internet didn't work. After speaking with an IBahn rep for almost an hour, it appeared it was the access point. The hotel said the access point was in the room next door and it was occupied with a do not disturb sign on it. The options were to move or go without for the night.
Since it was late and we were tired from traveling, we opted to stay put. They said they would fix it the next day. That never happened.....it didn't work the next night either. We also had a toilet that would not stop running. With the bathroom door shut and the heater on all night, we were able to drown out the noise. We also had a phone message light that would not turn off. The last two were not huge deals and since we received no resolution from staff on the first issue, didn't bother calling on the last two.
When we told them about the three issues at check out, the clerk did not seem to care. Pretty disappointing ending to an otherwise nice anniversary trip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cjames420 Great Hotel, great location
The Four Points by Sheraton in Pleasanton is a tremendous value for the service and location. The rooms are nice with a comfortable bed and wide work space desk. I love being able to wake up and sit on the first floor patio to enjoy a cup of coffee and read the newspaper while listening to the water fountain in the court yard. It’s within walking distance to Bart and restaurants. I travel to the Bay Area now from San Diego, but once lived in Pleasanton a mile and a half from the hotel. Staying there is like returning home for a short period.

Rated 2 out of 5 by sue2369748 the setting is beautiful, however....
no elevator for the second floor, lots of outlets/or power strips. The check in was at 3pm, I arrived shortly before that- neither my or my business partner's room was ready- it would be 20 min. We went to the cafe to wait. about 45 min later her room was ready, my room was on 20 mins later till almost 5pm. My travel companion had a microwave and refri- I did not. I was in building 4 and there were many loud guest in that building.
Service in the restaurant was very very sloooooooow, food was great. We were trying to make our meetings.

Rated 3 out of 5 by timperkins Noticed a decline in service
I stay here often. As an SPG Gold member, I'm normally offered a free drink or points on arrival. I wasn't offered that on this trip. The restaurant was not crowded yet the staff seemed to have a hard time handling it. Ordered a drink that was too sweet, bartender )who didn't know how to make the drink) said he would take it off the tab... he didn't.
Also, the hotel didn't email me my receipt. I used to get this automatically.

Everything was perfect ! Nothing lacking and the simplicity, clean, fresh look and feel was excellent.
Loved the shower amenities - again - so simple and easy AND you can READ
the contents on the containers!
Sadly, we were unable to experience the bar, lounge and restaurant due to family commitments - but it all looked so inviting and especially the patio set up under the trees in the morning.
This was our first PLEASURE (vs, business)stay in a FOUR POINTS and we look forward to our next one in Portland on

Rated 5 out of 5 by GILL63 A MUST STAY
Situated less than 10mins walk from the station and surrounded by beautifully kept gardens. This hotel is a must if you are in pleasanton. Just 40mins into San Fran on the train and 5-15 mins drive either to Stoneridge mall or downtown. If you fancy chilling out at the hotel, then you can take a dip in the heated pool or lounge in the spa. Breakfast is a must, the choice is extremely good. Staff are very helpful and our room was clean and well presented. This is my second stay here, would recommend every time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MI22 The hotel needs some improvements
It lack a private computer area which is really important for a business traveler, there were only two desks in front lobby. They had to do some painting right where I was sitting which became very unconfortable. The initial room given to me was gross, stain rug, and smelly. Staff moved me to a cleaner and nicer room at my request. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and very accomodating. The breakfast buffet was very good, one of the better ones I have seen from other hotels.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Powers EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!
Upon arriving to my room after a long day, the television did not work. I went to call the front desk button on my phone didn't work. When I finally got through I was told the maintenance person was leaving on his break and it would be 20 minutes or so before he could get to my room. The cords from the T.V. were strung across the room and plugged into the side of the desk. It looks very tacky for a room advertised as stylish. I ordered room service. It arrived relatively quickly however the "steak" Kabob did not even look like steak (it was made of ground meat) and was one solid piece, not pieces of steak like you might expect in a typical wood fired Kabob. All this might have been acceptable except the rate for the room was $249. I stay in the Bay Area often and have never paid this much for a hotel. The room, service and amenities should have been top notch!

Rated 1 out of 5 by wsugocougs Won't be staying at this Four Points again.
This was my second stay at this hotel, and will likely be my last.
- decent rooms for a Four Points
- I booked a King room and got two queens. Why give me a choice if you're not going to give me the room I actually book.
- The night crew at the front desk is not very friendly. I also had to ask for my SPG amenities instead of them just giving them to me.
- I never received a bill under my door or via email.
- The breakfast is okay, but the service is non-existent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by evelynp Excellent location
This hotel is so conveniently located to amenities. I found the staffs warm and responsive especially the housekeepers in my floor. My room was bright and airy but the bath tub plumbing was draining very slow. My schedule was packed and did not have time to report to Housekeeping but am sure, it will be taken cared of as they were attentive. Overall, I will go back and recommend to friends.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Eric71 Terrible experience
We booked two rooms for 3 nights here as part of a soccer group in town for a tournament. We did not have hot water two of the three days. There was a really loud pipe/HVAC issue all night the second night that we had to complain 3 times about. Finally we were moved rooms with out any luggage help or offer to compensate us on the bill. The bar was out of almost every beer on tap as well. We will be back in Pleasanton next year for the same tournament but not at this Sheraton.

Rated 2 out of 5 by johnd Terrible Internet connection
I was at this hotel for 3 nights. On Nov 13 for the entire evening the internet was essentiall unavailable. I even went downstairs to connect via hard wire and it was so slow that i could not establish VPN. I called ibahn and they could not help. I had to get up at 4:30 AM when the internet finally worked.
The staff was great but not much they could do

Rated 3 out of 5 by WeeklyVisitor Fine hotel, Internet connectivity needs work
Overall, the hotel was fine and met expectations for a Four Points property. Two main improvement areas: (1) the Internet connectivity was horrible. The front desk sent the tech to my room and he reset two routers, but connectivity remained very spotty and ineffective. (2) a two story hotel with no elevator is a big pain for business travelers who live out of rolling suitcases.
Other than these two points, the hotel is comfortable and relatively attractive for a Four Points.

Positive: We slept well
Toilet dirty. I lifted up the toilet seat and there was BM underneath it.
Maintenance had to come and unplug the tub drain, because after turning on the shower, water filled up the tub about 3 inches. However, we give thanks for this being taken care of in a timely matter.
It would be nice to have a bottle water for both of us, but was told only one water bottle per room.
Room did not have a refrigerator. It would have been nice to have one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sunshine04 Terrible Bed
Staff, facilities and room service was good. However, the room accommodation was terrible. It was a very uncomfortable bed; it was lumpy and was sagging in the middle. We woke up a few times during the night feeling very uncomfortable and our neck and backs feeling very sore. Air conditioning was too loud. I was very disappointed, especially considering for the price paid for the room. This experience did not live up to other Sheraton hotels that I have stayed at previously.

Rated 1 out of 5 by KBLAW Never Again
My wife and I stayed here for one night after a business event nearby. The room smelled like a used litter box, cold air blew from the HVAC system all night (outside temp was 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit), the door to bathroom would not stay open and there was no exhaust fan or vent so the bathroom was freezing and stayed steamy after a shower. The bedding (sheets/blanket) had holes and cigarette burns on it. Overall it was a terrible experience and I will not stay there again.

Four Points by Sheraton is ideal for a quick getaway. The rooms are spacious. The hotel has a beautiful lagoon amongst the heated pool and hut tub, There is a descent gym for a quck workout. My room had a balcony which was prefect for a warm Summer's Night. For a quick cocktail or meal, Fez's Restaurant is on site, and as a repeat guest, the location right off the freeway makes the the hotel a perfect quick getaway from the city.
