we stayed for the second time at this hotel and again had a lovely anniversary trip, as SPG members we were upgraded at check-in to a junior suite, the room was comfortable and roomy. morning tea in the lobby and afternoon cookies is a nice touch. The only issue during our stay was that the jets in the spa weren't working , but that was a minor inconvenience and we had an otherwise wonderful weekend.

A/C in room not working. I complained to the staff on first day. Was told I may have set thermostat to low and ac unit may have froze. RIDICULOUS. No apologies and no maintenance person sent. Next evening I was sweating and requested to change room. Was told no room available. No maintenance person sent to check the AC. Preferred Guest?????

This place is in a great location in historic downtown kingston. I have a few minor issues with the place but are typical to most hotels. The parking garage only has one elevator thats not air conditioned. During checkin and checkout times can be congeseted and hot. But once you park you dont need your car again due to the great location. Everything is in walking distance. I wish hotels would stop putting carpet and fabric airchairs in the rooms. Never really clean. The air conditioning is loud but most hotels are. The blinds dont block out the light this place needs thinker curtains. The pool area is small but at least the water was warm.

We booked this as the last leg of our Canadian road trip, taking the chance to try out different SPG hotels on the way to see if it's worth the hype and loyalty. I have not been impressed but the experience we have at this hotel was more than abominable. We booked a 2 queen bedroom and the description was that it has murphy beds. Ok, not a big deal. When we checked in and got to the room, found out that it was used a conference room and my daughter was crawling around and noticed her hands and knees are black in color from the carpet. This is not a bookable room. Please take it off the list!
Also, parking price is different that what was emailed. It's $2CAD higher but the amount is not the issue, please honor the price that you sent out in your contract instead of informing the guests on the spot that it is different. What if it's the room rate that is hiked up? The staff we talked to that night was not at all helpful. There is nothing she could do, she said.
Although the manager did make it right the next day by taking charges off. But what an unpleasant experience for our end of vacation.

My fiance and I stayed here and the government quote we were given through the online reservation was not honoured. We understand rates can change so we confirmed when checking in that the price quoted online was the price we would receive. When we checked out this wasn't the case and we did not notice until we checked the bill that was sent via e-mail. The $20 wasn't worth us driving back but the principal of it after obtaining verbal confirmation is what is the most frustrating. Parking rate of $14 quoted online is also not valid as it was $16.
Our room did not have AC, only a fan, which made it difficult sleep well (temps of 28 degrees).
The staff was friendly and the location is hard to beat. Overall, the discrepancies in pricing left us with an uneasy feeling about our stay. I would recommend that if you're staying there in the summer to get a room that has AC and not just a fan and to check your bill before leaving.

The hotel is clean, quiet, comfortable and in a great central location in historic downtown Kingston. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. I was attending a conference and everything seemed to go smoothly. The food provided for the conference was really good.

We were impressed with such a simple thing. One morning we got on the elevator and an employee from maintenance was on also, and I said how much I liked the room update and except there was no hook in the bathroom, he asked what room we were in and by the time we got back to our room it had been installed. I know a very little thing but service was top notch from everything from the front desk, food servers, maintenance and hotel cleaning staff. Well done!
