Friday evening, Nov. 14, 2014, I was trying to get a snack from vending machine. It was not working. The gentleman that was behind the desk that night, 10:00 p.m. came over & went out of his way to accommodate me. He went looking for change , came back & helped me with my purchase. Wonderful!

Stayed here several times. Had a family emergency needed to cancel the second night. Called and gave 48hour notice but said it was a three day cancellation. They put it in the notes that I wanted to cancel and said speak to the manager upon arrival. Spoke with George the manager and he said no. This is very sad! I had previously recommended this motel for a whole hockey team in Nov but since have told them of my experience. My husband was in a competitors motel in Grimsby the same weekend and it was no problem to cancel they even gave him till Sat at 4pm to decide. I quess it would of been better next time to get a more cost friendly motel chain better service and price!

In the reservation comments I asked for a early check-in, I arrived at 11 and did a pre-check in. I would not expect my room to be ready at 11am so that's fine. I came back at 2pm and room was not ready. For 1 hour I sat in the lobby and watch as many people checked in and got their rooms. At 3pm my room wasn't ready until I asked to speak to the manager and instantly a room was ready for me.
A early check-in request at time of making the reservation, early pre check in, and being a SPG member apparently means nothing to this hotel.
I would think common sense and good customer service would have made someone at this hotel think to get a room available for the customer but apparently not.

we booked for a hockey tournament, the hotel booked a wedding at the same time and actually set up the food buffet in the lobby.. they would not let the boys to be anywhere near the lobby or even the upper level sitting areas, they did not let them use the computers even when parents were in the lobby area supervising. the boys were very well behaved and the hotel staff went out of their way to harrass the parents for talking in the hallways..even to the point of treatening to kick them out and call the police. we were not a rowdy groupe, it was really un-called for... I was a travel agent for over 10 years and this was unacceptable.

Overall the hotel itself is very nice, however, whoever checked me in did not greet me very pleasantly or welcome me to the hotel. I came up to the counter she looked at me and asked my name only. (maybe she was having a bad day??) As well the bath tub needed a good scrubbing and the ceramic tiles on the wall in the shower had signifigant mould/mildew issues that could easily be cleaned. I actually took one of the face cloth's and rubbed it on the calking of one of the tiles and the mildew came off. Seeing this (and it is clearly visible) makes me wonder how truly clean the counters/toilets/floors and carpets are. I was in room 227.
