Rated 3 out of 5 by Quite pleasant Staff were very friendly, SPG status recognised, first room was a little tired looking but still perfectly acceptable, second night in a much better renovated room. Food and bar service was pretty good, not long to wait for order to be taken or for food to be served. Most staff spoke some English. All in all, quite pleasant. Will be much better once the proposed renovations will be done. The only one annoyance was the noise of doors closing/slamming through the night and the amount of light coming in the room beneath the door. June 4, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Just not worth the money The room was ok but the furniture not taken care of. Internet is expensive. The toilet was running and when I once dared to ask for an iron they brought me a broken one without an ironing board because they don't have that. Just really not worth all the money you pay. Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel has great potential I had a comfortable stay at Mandji. Hotel staff are wonderful, friendly and accommodating. Staff at the front desk spoke English fluently which was a great help. The hotel is kept clean and tidy but signs of disrepair are starting to show. Although my room was well maintained and the linen always clean and fresh there was a smell of paint and cigarette smoke. There are signs of poor workmanship and deterioration in the structures of the bathroom. I was disappointed to see the pool empty. In the absence of a fitness centre I was expecting to swim everyday. It is evident that this was once a class hotel and with a little more effort and investment, I'm sure that it can achieve that again. As taxi transport in the city is far from ideal, I am also disappointed that the hotel does not run a shuttle service. March 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Only real Hotel in town The hotel is old but all the features of a real hotel are there. I prefer to stay in this hotel because on the whole it's better that the rest in town with continued improvement of the facilities. The staff are good and helpful February 19, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by there's no other better choice When you are on a long stay at this hotel, I must say that it's not a very pleasant experience to hear the same Cesaria Evora every morning at the restaurant, nor to change rooms every time something stops functioning in your room. But i was told that there is no other better place in POG, so I had to bear with the existing conditions. The food and the varieties for breakfast was alright, so was the laundry service and the receptionists Georgette and Joel who always welcomed me with a smile on their face. And thanks to Florian who was there to meet our complaints and offer a room on the executive floor, it turned out to be a nice stay after all. Thanks for everything! December 10, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Restaurant, bathroom, TV set Service at diner time in restaurant is unacceptable to long. wait about 1 hour for the main course. without my friends on the table i will have leave your restaurant. Bathroom has a poor level maintenance. It is a shame to have HD TV in the room and a so bad quality reception of image. to be fixed. regards, November 30, 2013

The management team always does what they can to help and provide a level of comfort that has made my stays enjoyable. I will continue to stay at this hotel when visiting Port Gentil. October 2, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by First time is a surprise If this is your first trip to this part of Africa then you could get frustrated when dealing with some of the local staff. However, they seem to try hard and mostly start with a smile. You just need to ask one thing at a time and don't be in a rush. The management (Florian and Lubica) are very helpful so reach out for them if needed. The hotel needs renovation which I understand will start in few months. Rooms are not great but are clean and ok. Food is ok. Internet is available almost everywhere but not very fast and typically have to pay for it. Don't go with high expectations and you will enjoy your stay for business. September 24, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by The hotel requires a lot of maintenance The hotel have a an excellent location but it is very old and required to redesigned and will have a very good future The best thing i have seen in this hotel is the managment team especilly the sales manager she is very co-operative, kind and an excellent level of hospitality this is the only appreciated thing in this hotel and if i come back to this hotel. it will be because of the managment team. There was no hot water for the first 24 hours of my stay (and no apology or warning) and wifi would cut out for hours at a time despite being very expensive. Rated 1 out of 5 by Meridien name unworthy I regular stay at the hotel but over the last half year hot water is non existent of which guests are not informed at the reception. This stay was no different;No towels on arrival, the AC remote missing, no tea kettle, heavy paint stench. Reception staff apologetic but show clear lack of interest and do not bother to record the complain or call the Supervisor / Manager. Greatly unsatisfactory for a "1st Class" hotel for which my company has to pay the 4* price! July 28, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by No water but great food Did arrive on July 12 in the evening after 4 long flights in a row (25 hours total) and wanted and needed a shower. There was no hot water and very little cold water. I told front desk and they told me they where working on it. Had to go to bed without a shower and hoped for a shower or bath next morning. Woke up next morning to the same situation. No hot or cold water. Hotel need to be maintained / repaired instead of only painted everywhere. Heavy paint smell everywhere in and outside rooms. More towels need to be put in every room. This is my third stay at this hotel and always lack of towels. Staff is very nice and help full and food is great. AC is also great. Prices are way to high and shocking. Port Gentil and Gabon is a very safe place to be and all people are very friendly July 14, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Recetn stay Fiendly staff at front desk and at the Bar. Need a second set of towels in the bathroom (all taken out during the day). Appreciated the recognition of SPG Gold status. Room at second floor needs repainting (ceiling room 240 heavily stained and bathroom). For months, TV channels available at the Bar is not available in the room ... why ?? Only 4 French channels available in the rooms .... . June 1, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by This Hotel Is not Changing Does not recognize SPG (never done with me). Every stay requires SPG number. Even then, they still subscribe you afresh. Breaking utilities (water closet, etc. The Restaurant has large number of mosquitoes which are such a nuisance in the night during dinner which require waiting for up to 1 hours for orders met. myself and my guest made orders only for the orders to be messed up by mixing 1 item or the other to someone that did not make the order. The Internet facility is simply cheating. Internet rate is charged per hour and for 24 hours. I bought 1 hour, used 25 minutes, logged out and on login back in lost the balance. Then bought 24hours and got only 12hours and lost the balance. I was forced to buy another 1 hour again. Front desk staff are aware of this and usually offer to negotiate the payment. I told them on this last stay that I will never ever buy internet time ever again at this hotel. April 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by RESTAURANT NEEDS A COMPLETE CHANGE OF SYSTEM > Food not good/fresh, specially the fish dishes. > Staff need to be more friendly and properly trained for the job they do. > Menu needs to be changed from time to time. > Items displayed on menu not available when ordered. > Waiting period to much too long when only 1 or 2 diners present . > No side plates for bread, no salt on the tables, no proper spoons for cereals on the breakfast tables. > Staff need to be properly trained to use Espresso Machine, capuccino is terrible. Rated 1 out of 5 by Avoid when possible Ten years ago this mosquito invested hotel was already below average and now it's below acceptable. Hotel is constant under reconstruction but that doesn't stop them from renting out affected rooms. Resulting in noisy, unattractive environment. Overpriced small rooms with only the very basic furniture, re-painted several times. No mini bar, no water kettle, no Iron, no nothing. Towels are taken in the morning, returned in the night. Pay for WiFi, 25 US$ per day!!!!! Lunch buffet is the same every day, left overs turned into mixed salads. Their is absolute no management, personnel is arrogant as if it is the costumers lucky day to be allowed to pay over 200 US$ for so-called 4 star Meridien Hotel. If it was not for the shortage of hotel rooms in town this one would be empty all the time. Not the name Meridien worthy and should be banned from SPG March 18, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Regional Director Absolutely no value for money, filty appearance, many items in room not working, even when came first into the room, room was not cleaned, dirty stains on mattras, poor shower, everything overpainted in black pait, makes you feel depressive. To many employees doing nothing, some in the dining area give you an impression to go away like you are too much we don't like you. Food is very good. Water in hallway, halway stinks Paying CFA129.000 (Libbreville is CFA122.000) equivalent to Euro 200??? Please assure that for that money you show that your guests are welcome, I was informed by all business partners in Port Gentil not to use the Le Meridien, so apparantly it is known in town that your hotel is not liked March 10, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel needs improvement in service quality Good impression on front desk people. Good impression of the waiters at the Bar/Lounge. Good service from Lydie at the Business Center. The breakage of the power generator was not acceptable and way too long. Upon arrival, I missed a plastic curtain in my bathroom, no plug for the tub, one lamp was missing in the room and the arm chair was not complete. In the bathroom the fixation of the shower was broken. Part of these problems were solved, not all. I do not understand the 12.000FCFA/day for the internet. You have to make a special request to keep one towel in your room during the day because they are taken out in the morning (the hotel you have 2 sets available so they are changed) February 20, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Rooms on ground floor are damp If you are going to stay here couple of pointers not accept a room on the grond floor as the beds are damp almost wet 2 The rooms 2nd and 3rd are basic and they cost arond the same as you would pay for a hotel in London but with none of the benifits Breakfast is not included Beer spiits and wine equivalent to London prices with none of the benifits February 14, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hotel Ovarall Review No TV programmers in my check in room, then have to change room after 5 days. Hot water was not working, have to shower with cool water everyday. A lot of mosquitos at the receotion. Hotel was old lack of maintenance. The price too expensive. February 2, 2013
