Rated 5 out of 5 by Under new name and still very good This was my second stay at this property. The first time it was under the Westin brand, this time - it is Park Central. The location is perfect - central, yet a bit away from the noise in hectic environment of the busy street and Union Square (but very-very close to them). The rooms are of a good size, and the bed is comfortable (though bit soft as for me). Staff is responsive and professional. Amenities in the room are appropriate, though a shower cap would be good to add to the set. Otherwise, I was very happy with my stay, and I will definitely chose the hotel again once come to San Francisco. Thank you. October 14, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not what it used to be before being re-branded What a shame! Had stay at this hotel previously before being re-branded and had a great experience. This was my first stay since it got re-branded and what a disappointment it was. Unresponsive and unprofessional staff. Had a couple of issues and the first solution the FOM had was, we would be happy to let you check out and cancel your reservation. She was not concerned about my feedback but more with getting me out of the hotel so I would not complaint or post a negative feedback. Spoke with manager by the last name initial T. and initially he was very "concerned" - he came across as carrying and "helpful". We agreed on a solution to my concern in July. Let's fast forward to October and my resolution still has not been applied. I have left him multiple messages with not returned phone calls and also his "assistant" and never heard back from her either. They have no respect or care about Platinum, Loyal, Business or any customers for that matter. Poor service, unprofessional employees and they don't understand nor appreciate customers loyalty or time. Don't recommend this hotel at all. Horrible new managing team. Buyer be aware! Don't be fooled by the Hotel's insincere responses left at other reviews on here. There are plenty of better SPG options in San Francisco. October 8, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasant Experience Having read a number of negative reviews here, I had mixed feelings about booking a stay. I went ahead anyway because the room rate was good and I've had consistently good past experiences with the Westin brand (which I gather is how this hotel was previously branded). My concerns were unfounded. The check-in process was quick and flawless; my (upgraded) room was clean, spacious and comfortable and had a great view. Subsequent interactions with the front desk were always pleasant. The buffet breakfast at Maso was high quality and extensive and the service excellent. I do not generally post reviews unless I feel I have something useful to add (positive or negative). In this case, because of the very pleasant experience I had, I felt compelled to provide an offsetting opinion to some of the very negative reviews posted here which are completely contrary to my experience. The one thing that I do agree with some negative reviewers is that the facility fee is not justified and is simply a hidden fee. October 5, 2016

From the additional fees assessed at check in without prior notice to the short sheets that did not completely cover the bed and left my feet hanging on the bare mattress, to the refusal to return a small personal item I left in my room for anything less an exorbitant fee and the overcooked food, illegible menus, and lobby power sources that didn't work—this is a place I will never stay again. Special mention to Monty at front desk, he was so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. He made our stay an absolute treat and was a pleasure to deal with. September 11, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by The concierge staff rude So I have stayed in this hotel numerous times and this last time last my worst experience to date. First of all the room smelt of dampness - I have never experienced this before in the hotel but I would stay away from the 19th floor But my main disappointment was the man at the concierge desk - I had asked for my stuff to be held until I returned after the weekend and at 5am he started shouting at me and getting extremely aggressive when I dropped off my stuff - as you can imagine it wasn't the best way to wake up. The man at the check in desk was extremely helpful however and showed true customer service but this man at the concierge actually intimidated me and I couldn't wait to get out of the hotel.
