Rated 3 out of 5 by relaxmax92 I expected more
A Starwood property of this category made me expect more. Upon arrival, was greeted correctly. The bellboy helped take our luggage upstairs. Upon seeing a corner room, I got excited. But upon closer inspection, I was let down - no coffee/tea facility in the room, the AC unit outside the window was incredibly noisy, the Wifi did not reach the room. When asked for a water boiler for making tea, I was told to go get it from the kitchen! Breakfast was really lackluster - was shocked to hear that they have no possibility of making eggs! In short, look around for better properties which would be able to provide basic hotel services.

Other than its location, and that Ditkas restaurant and bar is next door, this facility should not even be considered.
-One elevator was "dependable".
-Totally understaffed...we waited 15 minutes before a desk clerk arrived to check us out.
-First assigned room had closet doors leaning against the entry wall
-Second room had been only partially painted, and very poorly at that. Paint was slopped onto moldings, Trim work looked original, colors were mismatched....and so on
-carpet was old and worn
-furnishings were worn out...chipped, gouged, scratched....
-no coffee service, ice bucket, frig, or other amenities....it did have shampoo, etc.
No need to continue. I can't imagine how this place is awarded a Starwood designation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Devi Friendly and Awesome Customer Service
Everyone, including housekeeping was friendly, courteous and helpful.
Alyson (front desk) was beyond exceptional…always smiling, always said hello as we waked by the front desk….
I asked for an upgrade as this was the first vacation my husband and I had in 10 years…and she came through!!! I am so grateful…it started off a perfect week. Thank you…we will be back! Devi Clinton

The Tremont Hotel is new to SPG but it is an old hotel.
The Tremont Hotel is terribly outdated, and in some ways seems shabby. It is sorely in need of a facelift and repair.
Worse, the lobby stinks from Mike Ditka's restaurant.
The room was quite loud due to the raucous crowd from Ditka's. Adding to the room noise were the narrow halls, thin walls, and clangIng doors.
The bell/parking staff were slow and and the cost of parking outrageous: $49.
Even the phone menu was cumbersome in trying to reach the front desk.
In sum, staying at The Tremont is unrecognizable as a Starwood Hotel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Elaine01 Good location
The hotel is located at head of magnificient mile, steps away from Water Tower and shoppings. You can take bus to sight seeing places and is near subway too. The bed is huge and comfy. The poor drainer in the bathtub in our room was not good, making the water running so slow. No pool though. If hotel can offer the pool in the nearby Starwood hotel, it would be great.

We had never been to Chicago before, and were concerned that this rate was too good to be true, but we liked the look of the place so we gave it a shot. Glad we did. It might not be for everyone, but the location can't be beat, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Loved the towels. Had a cool view. No microwave or refrigerator, but we didn't miss them. Brought our own soap and shampoo, but probably could have asked for them. This is a limited services hotel, so as long as you are prepared for that you will be fine. You can't beat the price for the location.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bullet You will NOT get your SPG points from your stay here.
I stayed at the hotel for almost two months and got very few of the points that were offered to me. In searching around to see other people's experiences, I did not see too many people with the same story as I had. So it seems like it is simply the Manager of the hotel(Director of Rooms) that made it as difficult as it possibly could be. I could write a small novel describing what a difficut time I had in getting credit for my SPG points. I came from an earlier hotel and the experience was completely different regarding the points, so it must be the hotel. In the end, it is all about the people that you deal with and this hotel was a big mistake.
