Starwood Earns Over 50 Top Spots On Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold Lists Including Many New Entries

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., January 13, 2005 – Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) has earned the distinction of having 51 of its hotels and resorts included on Condé Nast Traveler’s prestigious Gold List and Gold List Reserve featured in the magazine’s January 2005 issue. More than 20,000 Condé Nast Traveler subscribers voted for their favorite hotels, resorts and cruise lines around the world to make up the winners in the magazine’s 11th annual Gold List. 

Many new properties in various regions around the globe made the lists for the first time this year, including The Westin Dublin, Ireland, The St. Regis Club at the Essex House, New York, N.Y., Hotel Schloss Fuschl, Salzburg, Austria (a Luxury Collection hotel), The Westin at Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort, Grand Bahama Island and The Westin Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia. Two of the company’s prestigious Luxury Collection properties in Europe took top spots in the food category including Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia, Italy took the Number 1 position followed closely by the Hotel Schloss Fuschl which came in third.
