A new perspective awaits in Gujarat’s state capital at Le Méridien Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad Road. The hotel is conveniently located near Apollo Hospital. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD) can be reached by car in about 15 minutes, and Gandhinagar is just over twenty kilometres from Ahmedabad.

Scenic gardens and tranquil fountains surround the pink-stone Akshardham Temple. Built in 1499, the five-storied Adalaj Stepwell is located just 18 kilometres south of town and features intricate carvings on its walls, pillars, and balconies. The gardens at Sarita Udyan invite a stroll along the banks of the Sabarmati River. The intriguing astrological-themed gardens at Punit Van were designed according to Hindu mythology. Located in the southern part of the city, Introda Nature Park (INP) features life-size dinosaurs and fossils, a walk-in aviary, a reptile section, an avifauna section, and a mammal park. And the new state-of-the-art GIFT (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City) features some of Gujarat’s tallest buildings.

Ahmedabad is renowned for its delicious ice cream as well as some outstanding attractions. They include the quiet Sabarmati Ashram; the treasure trove of exquisite works at the Calico Museum of Textiles; the colourful Kite Museum; the intricately carved white-marble Jain Hathi Singh Temple, built in 1850; the Sidi Bashir Mosque’s shaking minarets; Ahmedabad’s landmark, Dada Harir Vav, built in 1501; and the 15th-century Bhadra Fort, which contains the triple-arched gateway Teen Darwaja.

Wondrous heritage Indian handicrafts can be appreciated at Craftsmen’s Village in Pethapur. Gujarat is highly regarded for its intricate woodcarvings, terracotta figurines, and unique jewellery; delightful vegetarian cuisine; and native folk dancing and music. The highly celebrated festival Navratri showcases numerous types of dance performances, including the energetic and colourful one known as raas.
