        • 24 hours; Buses run every 40 minutes.
        • 45 minutes
        • A modern fleet of air-conditioned public buses, managed by the Department of Transport (DoT), operates throughout Abu Dhabi Island, Abu Dhabi’s suburbs, Al Ain, and the Western Region. While buses serving city routes run around the clock, DoT is constantly improving the connections and frequencies on other routes. Please note that no bus routes stop directly at the hotel.

Seats for female passengers are immediately behind the driver, while the men’s section is at the back.

The fare for a single trip inside Abu Dhabi City is AED 1, which must be put in the box next to the driver when entering the bus. Frequent passengers can purchase Ojra Bus Passes from any Red Crescent kiosk in Abu Dhabi Island. The Ojra Day Pass costs AED 3, whereas the Ojra Monthly Pass for AED 40 allows unlimited travel on DoT city buses for one month from the day it is first used.

From Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) into the city, the green and white 901 bus departs from the lower curbside outside Terminals 1 and 3 and outside Terminal 2 at the Cargo Building and the Police Complex. All stops are clearly indicated with blue and white signs. The bus runs from the three terminals and stops at all legal bus stops going into the city. It passes by the Bus Stand at Muroor and Street 11 and terminates at the Old Fish Market on Al Nasr Street (near NYU Abu Dhabi).

Abu Dhabi intercity buses start from the central bus station and link Abu Dhabi City with Al Ain, Liwa, and Ruwais. Buses to Dubai (E1) and Sharjah also run from here. They take about two hours and cost AED 25 for a one-way trip to Dubai and AED 30 for a one-way trip to Sharjah.

      • By Taxi
        • Fares are cash only and are generally higher at night. Gratuity is not mandatory but appreciated.

        • Taxis are a common, affordable form of transportation in Abu Dhabi. Most shopping malls have dedicated stands, and taxis can be flagged down where it is safe to stop throughout the city. The most common taxis are silver and are operated by authorized companies. White and gold taxis are older and are being phased out. Recently-introduced pink taxis are exclusively for female passengers and boys under the age of 10. They are driven by women and have the same fares as silver taxis.

Most drivers are familiar with landmarks—such as hotels, shopping malls, and parks—rather than street names. Enter the taxi from the right side, as the door behind the driver is usually locked. Female passengers usually sit in the back of the car.

Ensure that the driver has switched on the meter at the beginning of your ride. Drivers may also negotiate a fare in advance. Every hired taxi can be asked to travel to places outside Abu Dhabi City or Abu Dhabi Emirate. The fare for a trip to Dubai in a metered taxi, for example, is around AED 250 during the daytime. At Abu Dhabi’s central bus station next to Al Wahda Mall, inter-emirate taxis and shared taxis are available.
