The name of Le Méridien Vienna's original lounge + restaurant was no accident. "The secrets of Shambala have never been written down—they are only passed down by word of mouth from teacher to student." So goes the proverb about the eponymous mythical country, which is fabled to exist in the Himalayan region, only to be reached via a rainbow or on a spiritual journey.
One might assume that Shambala (literally, "source of joy") exists only in the imagination—but imagination has become a reality in Vienna, where we hope to bestow the spiritual energy of Shambala upon our guests. In an understated, beautiful setting that utilises colour to sooth and inspire, Restaurant Shambala draws from the earth's diverse and sublime ingredients to create innovative cuisine that is unexpected and transformative.
Shambala Bar serves as the entrance to our restaurant, but is an entity all its own: this stylish, contemporary bar reflects contemporary Vienna's artistic bent with its sensuous décor, sublime cocktails and live DJ.
