Indeed, Le Méridien room keys open more than just doors, they can open minds. Featuring designs by LM100™ artists Hisham Bharoocha, Sam Smore, and Yan Lei, guests’ keycards provide access to a contemporary cultural experience.
All guests of Le Méridien Noumea Resort & Spa will receive complimentary admission to the Tjibaou Cultural Centre. Designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano, this iconic tribute to local Melanesian and Oceania cultures is considered an architectural masterpiece and the reference point for contemporary South Pacific art. Large conical pavilions are patterned on the Grand Hut designs of New Caledonia’s indigenous Kanak people.
Located 15 kilometres from the resort, the Tjibaou Cultural Centre is named for Jean-Marie Tjibaou—leader of the Kanak independence movement in New Caledonia—and serves as a reminder of the artistic and linguistic heritage of the Kanak people.
