Rated 4 out of 5 by HV99 Le Meridien Stay Oct 2013
Room a bit small but well equipped, but has two problems:
- does not have an alarm clock
- desk does not have a phone (it's next to the bed), make it hard for conference calls

Rated 5 out of 5 by AMC625 Very convenient
Ten couples were booked here through our event planner before going to Monte Carlo. Six of us arrived more than 6 hours late because our flight was delayed. Our rooms were ready and check-in was fine. The hotel is convenient to the Metro and bus line and an easy walk to the Arc de Triomphe. The rooms are small but comfortable. The bathroom was modern with no bidet. Especially liked the deep bathtub with adjustable showerhead. The breakfast buffet was pricey (29 euros) but very satisfying. We had drinks in the Jazz Club two nights which was a very nice room. Entertainment is Wednesday-Sunday so we missed that but had an enjoyable time. Serving staff was very attentive. The hotel is across the street from the Palais des Congres and its huge shopping concourse. There are many good restaurants nearby.

Rated 3 out of 5 by psa1 Comfortable hotel and location; service and noise a problem
This hotel is a clean, no-nonsense facility in a great location. It is aimed at business travelers and not quite as family friendly or service oriented. We stayed there for a week and although the room was spacious (enough) and the beds were comfortable, the windows facing the street were quite thin, resulting in extremely noisy and disruptive late nights/early mornings (on the weekends it was due to a club across the street and on the weekdays it was due to the heavy traffic/incessant honking of vehicles on the busy street). Didn't make for a restful stay.
The concierge was not particularly helpful, especially when they promised to call back with restaurant reservations and failed to do so (not even a message) and when they gave us erroneous information about the opening hours of a major museum.

Rated 3 out of 5 by aspern11 Does not meet the high standards of other Starwood properties
As an SPG Gold member, I have stayed at dozens of properties across Europe and the world, and I was quite disappointed with Le Méridien Etoile. The room was shabby; chipped paint in many areas; the desk's mounting was coming out of the wall; mold was in the corners of the bathtub; and all this in a room I was told, as a Gold member, was an 'upgrade' from their standard room. I would be frightened to learn the condition of those rooms. All in all, a very poor experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Eggsbene Beautiful Modern Hotel
The staff here was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were modern and clean. Beautiful lobby and restuarants and is located across the street from upscale indoor shopping malll with easy access to the metro.
The only negative is that the area was noisy late into the night, with loud party noise that would wake me up a couple of times a night. I never could figure out exactly where it was coming from. It was the week of the French Open so maybe that had something to do with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bbabs Great family stopover in Paris
We were able to book and use points for a second room in the busy month of July, Every member of staff was efficient and kind. We think it is especially good for an arrival from the USA as you can take an Air France bus at the airport and the first stop in Paris is across the street from this hotel. Close to a metro, grocery store, bakery and Starbucks in an adjacent mall--perfect for kids and jet-lagged relatives. Upon our request, the manager booked us a quiet room in advance and the second, larger room was next door for the family of three. Spotlessly clean but small rooms--ours still needed painting and redecorating which I believe is ongoing. Hot coffee was quickly delivered to our room each morning for a small charge. We all were impressed with our stay and will return on our yearly trip to France.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DaveFromZurich Star qualities at a price
Excellent hotel where the staff are uniformly excellent and helpful. Had my room changed from one near lift (noisy) to a very quiet room. Very good breakfast, meeting rooms were good. Only two small gripes. The cost of breakfast and drinks in the bar was simply outrageous - highway robbery. The breakfast room was incredibly busy, and I sometimes felt the waiters were trying to go too fast - making it not so relaxing for the guests. I would suggest: "more haste, less speed"!

Rated 4 out of 5 by KKAN Fantastic hotel with great staff!
In Asia, all business hotels are equipped with bottled water and coffee/tea making facilities regardless the category of rooms.
Perhaps free bottled water in the room could increase the overall satisfication rate.
Nevertheless, my stay was comfortable and you really have great staff! They were friendly and engaging; asking about your needs. A job well done here!
Special thanks to Yannick and Leena from Front Desk/Reception who made it all even better!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Michelle2013 small rooms, uncomfortable beds.
I booked two rooms for two nights. I used Starwood points for the first night, and cash for the second. The hotel could not get our rooms together. The family was split between different floors of the hotel. One room was really nice and modern, the other was stuck back in the 1960 and the bed was really bad. Good hotel and good location, but I feel the staff did not take that extra step to accommodate us. As a traveler, and Starwood member I was disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DrRick Conveniently located and comfortable hotel in Paris centre
Location of this hotel is outstanding - close to everywhere and only 40 to 45 minutes by taxi form each of the two airports even in a rush hour. Lobby is always full of people and noisy but rooms are quite; a bit small but comfortable. Wi-fi works fine.
Great breakfast and great jazz.
Check-in a bit confusing when it is your first time.
Check-in is rather slow - and this would be the only complain that I have. Check-out is easier as one could you express checkout.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Thom Comfortable business hotel
Rooms: Urban rooms are nice, recently renovated. Bed is excellent; communicating rooms can be noisy
Food: Inroom dining good but menu lacks variety; Steakhouse restaurant is excellent; bar is overpriced
Breakfast: inroom dining is basic but good and very punctual; buffet is quite good and varied
Internet: Hardly useable in the evening
SPG: queue for check-in/check-out isnt't any quicker; no room upgrades despite being platinum and frequent guest

Rated 5 out of 5 by Svetlik too big hotel
the hotel is really huge. there should be more staff at reception and more conceirge so that guests do not have to stay in long ques. being a platinum member I got a VERY small upgrade but I understand as the hotel was completely full. BUT instead of 2 separate beds I was given 1 king size, even though booking the room I requested 2 separate beds. we had to leave the luggage and go outside for a couple of hours as they couldn't give me another room immediately

Rated 5 out of 5 by globetrotter56 Merci, Le Meridian!
Just returned from a 7 night stay at LeMeridian Etoile, and it was a fabulous hotel in a great location in Paris. Check-in was prompt and friendly. I was upgraded for being a Starwood Gold member to a beautiful room with some nice perks, such as water each day, cappuchino in the lounge and was also sent a lovely fruit tray. The concierge was helpful in selecting nearby restaurants. All the staff was warm and friendly and I hope to return to this lovery hotel!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kikii1208 Great Location
Hotel is conveniently located and has great transportation to/from airport. Rooms are a bit small and getting wi-fi in lobby was impossible. I was stuck in my room if i had to access the internet so it would have been great to have the internet working in the lobby. Rooms were a bit small but nicely decorated. Service was fine ...maid fogot to put an upper sheet on my bed one nite so stuck with comforter only. Found staff at front desk a bit standoffish when i was checking out ....it took a long time and the two women handling it kept telling me it would only take a minute longer but in reality it was more like 15 minutes. However, when i checked in i had excellent customer service from a young man, Leif, who was very welcoming and efficient. Breakfast brunch was good but always had same food so some variety would have been welcome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DonS99 Le Meridian Etoile
Overall, a very good hotel. Expectations are high for a hotel in Paris and for the room cost. Everythng was expensive, but the service was quite good. Everything was also thoroughly professional. Only complaint was the small room, which is fairly standard in Europe, so no real complaint there. The staff was friendly, the Concierge, excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chantal23 Excellent stay in Paris
We enjoyed a lovely 2 day getaway in Paris at The Meridien Etoile. We arrived very early (having flown from North America) and expected to wait for our room. We were offered complementary coffees while waiting and by noon, the room was ready even though the Hotel was extremely busy and fully booked.
The Hotel is very well located, central to everything you want to do in Paris. I particularly enjoyed the new fitness center. Clean and new!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Antiplois68 Overall good stay except for one incident
Overall a good stay with friendly polite staff except for the valet parking, where after waiting for 20 minutes in the rain and a 8 hour drive with a baby i the car, the valet rudly told us he was too busy with other customers to help us and we should park our own car. obviously he was too busy with the porches and mercedes of the richer looking customers to help out a family in a regular car. shocking and rude start to our stay. the rest was fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ginger66 Expensive with poor room facilities
Very expensive rate per room per night - with basic in room facilities missing - no coffee/tea making facilities in room, the rate did not include breakfast and only 1 hour of wifi per room per day. Slow check in and check out as queue was very long with only half of the reception stations occupied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DCDallas Great Jazz Bar
We stayed only one night and can honestly say everything in that 24 hours was perfect. We had been in France for two weeks and were flying home the next day. The rooms are in great shape and I would guess just remodeled. We really enjoyed our evening in the Jazz Bar. The Sushi was great and a nice change from all the rich French food we had been eating. Service in the bar and the desk area was perfect. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by amehdi Great hotel and very good staff
We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and had a very great time. The hotel and the staff were great. When checking in I told the receptionist that it was our honeymoon and next thing we know, they sent us a beautiful gift basket to our hotel.
We were very happy with the hotel, it's services and the staff at the hotel.
Only gripe was the the fitness center was not in the hotel but a bit further outside.
Overall it was a great experience for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BritFrenchie Consistent high standards
As usual a very good stay at Meridien Etoile. Super friendly staff, very comfortable bed and contemporary room amenities. I love the early breakfast everyday (including Saturday) great when you need to leave early or when you are jetlagged. Only negative point : the fitness is outside the hotels and opens only at 07:30 AM and closes at 10:00 PM during the week... clearly inconvenient to squeeze in a workout when you are traveling on business.

We had a whole week in Paris, second time at Le Meridien, excellent Hotel, great staff. Alaways very busy but staff still have time for you. Rooms although small are well equiped and comfy andf the hotel is so quiet, amazing for 1,000+ rooms. Close to everything, Metro, Air France asnd excellent restaurants a mere stroll away. Would reccomend this venue to anyone. Check in and check out are the ultimate in professiomalism and friendliness.

Love the location
Front Check-in People are great.
Then you get to the hallways to your room - banged up and tired looking
Then you get to your small room and say "for that much money I get this?" Add the 29Euro breakfast and you really feel like you are taken advantage of. Ad the small sized glass of wine with the big price and you KNOW you are taken advantage of.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ROBAvion Wish they would manage SPG check-ins better!
This isn't a problem at just this hotel but all SPG hotels I've stayed in worldwide. They tell us we have a special check-in/help desk for SPG members but most of the hotels are so understaffed that it doesn't matter. Like the others, this hotel has a nice, large sign indicating the special SPG desk but the personnel there were helping all the other guests, too, so it didn't matter. Stood in line for almost an hour to check into my room!

Rated 3 out of 5 by ABCXYZ Nice hotel
The hotel is in a good location and more modern compared to traditional Parisian hotels. The room showed some wear and could use some touch up. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms slightly larger than normal European standards. Concierge and staff were extremely helpful and responsive to our needs. There is no pool at the hotel as advertised, it is at a Health Club facility across the street and children under 18 are not allowed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lil88 Great location but service needs work
Room improvements are fine but the service was not up to speed. I had to inform at check-in that I had platinum status and this is after giving her my starwood card. It was impossible to get a taxi, the 2 doormen were quite absent and helpless and just kept directing hotel guests to the rather long taxi queue. Some of the concierge staff were helpful while others seemed to be too busy to assist with trivial hotel guest matters. Breakfast service, with the exception of one person, was unorganized and rushed. I ordered poached eggs on one morning and was told that it was going to take too long. A coffee maker in the room would be a nice touch since room service for a cup of coffee would have cost about $10. Dont even get me started on the coffee machines in the halls which don't work. I don't even know whether I got my starwood credits for this stay?

Rated 4 out of 5 by Noshco Great location & facility but rooms are small & Internet is spotty
I stay at this hotel frequently while in Paris. Location is fantastic - just a stone's throw from the Arc De Triomphe/Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower. Food and atmosphere are both great, particularly the jazz themed aesthetics. The rooms are somewhat compact and the Internet service is very inconsistent. They recently upgraded the gym with the latest equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BKRW Enjoyed our stay at Le Merdien Etoile
We arrived late afternoon and we were welcomed by a very pleasant desk clerk named Leena. I was traveling with my two teenage granddaughters and we were very pleased with the nice room we received for our two night visit. Be sure and ask the concierge servicies desk about the shortest walk to the Eiffel Tower. We walked there the final night for an amazing view of the tower all lit up...it was magical!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mimmo Not as expected
I have been in Paris for three days with my wife, and as usual i choosed "le Meridien" for my staying, sure about the quality and the recognition of my Ambassador /platinum status.
I can summarize my experience in Le Meridien Etoile in the following sentences:
1) The location is amazing, close to everything, expecially to the most attractive part of the city. by 20 mins of walking or 5 mins by subway you can reach eiffel tower
2) Suite wasn't that big, convenient only for the two toilets. Was in front of a night club and sleeping during the weekend is likely impossibile until 6 am because of loud music and people screaming on the street.
3) Check in was at 3 o'clock p.m. but i had my room after 45 mins of waiting. During the following days room was cleaned but glasses were never changed and once no robes in the bathroom.
4) Breakfast is simply perfect, everything fresh and waiters are nice and kind.
5) Unacceptable to make everyday the queue at the concierge desk to ask for an umbrella, plus you have to leave a deposit (Never happened in any Le Meridien, you usually find the umbrella in the closet)
6) No recognition of the status, neither with a simply postcard in the room. Usually management meets Ambassador members or leave a personal postcard with business card for any needs might be necessary
7) Hotel facilities are great
My overall rating for this Hotel is under the average. Is convenient if you have to stay one night for conferences or meetings, not for any other reason.
The only appreciable experience is the breakfast in the moring for the kindness of people working there.
For sure next time i'll be in Paris it would be my last option for sleeping over the city.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Brian A bit below expectations
This was the 4th or 5th time staying at the hotel over the last couple of years. Location is great, amenities are in line with Starwood standards but this time, the service was weak. My room was not cleaned one day, the concierge desk was always crowded and the wait time / service received equation was weak, and the fitness facillity is still out of commission (since before summer of 2012?!).
Hope this was a rare case.
