This hotel was over and above my expectations in all aspects...the staff was absolutely amazing. I am a Starwood F&B employee of 43 years and this hotel provided such a warm, caring and genuine atmosphere that I can only hope to carry even a small bit of it home to pass on to my fellow employees and our guests.
For starters, there is a waiter, Sotha Noun, at the morning buffet that is one of the most exceptional, passionate and aspiring young men I have ever met in this business...he's very eager to please and to learn anything you may have to offer, his English is fabulous (although he is a little soft spoken and the background music and noise competed with him) and he just seems to live and breath a desire to make everyone happy while being able to grow from the interaction.
The front desk experience was the best and they were over the top in taking care of us as our friend had pneumonia and had to spend the night in a wonderful hospital there...the staff was so helpful arranging for hotel transports to and from the hospital and then special care getting us to the airport.
Unfortunately, the medical situation took up a good portion of our extra time as we were only there 2 days to see Angkor Watt so we didn't get a chance to fully enjoy the hotel...but I did get a treatment at the Spa which was wonderful. Oh...I almost forgot...the Italian restaurant was great...best Carpacchio I've ever had!

I don't normally review my stay, but this has got to be the best Starwood hotel I've ever stayed. Hence, my first review. The location of the hotel was perfect for a short bicycle ride to Angkor city. The pool actually offered great length for an actual swim and was beautiful! Love the platinum benefit for unlimited cocktails at the Naga bar in the evenings. Breakfast offerings were some of the best I've ever seen - choices were plentiful.
Most importantly, staffs were extremely professional, polite and friendly! Special shout for Ouk Chanminea at the front desk for his extremely great and passionate service! He really made you feel valued as a platinum member.

Good Japanese communication with staff and many Japanese sign and assistance such as food menu etc. A Korean front staff can speak good Japanese with beautiful smile.
Unfortunately there were many Chinese and Korean tourists too. Some tourists made noise now and then.

I would like to thank the General Manager, Mr Masahiro Taguchi and his front office manager, Mr Sous Phearith, for the SPG recognition and for taking good care of me during my recent stay at the hotel from 13 - 17 Nov 2013. Throughout our stay, our needs were attended to by the staff. This is one hotel that honours its SPG members with true recognition. Keep up the good work!

Have Stayed twice at this hotel ...
Perfect location - approx. 15 mins to the airport with car, approx.
10 mins to the Old Market & Pub Street with tuk tuk,
approx. 10-15mins to Angkor Wat and the temples area.
Check-in was fast and easy and the staff were great.
The hotel room is spacious and comfortable with the unique Pool & garden view
All staff I encountered spoke very good English and were all very enthusiastic
The hotel was excellent and the service exemplary.
Only problem I had was check out with extra chargers on my account I ask for
Them to be removed with no success until I asked to see the duty manager he did
Arrive after asking again to speak with him and he had no answers why the chargers
Were on my account and he removed them it was the longest check
Out I have ever experienced at a Starwood property

Service: The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were just so impressed with the Cambodian people in general. Everyone we met was friendly and genuine to us. The hotel staff especially...
Pool: The Khmer style pool is so unique and beautiful. I wished we stayed longer in Angkor so we could enjoy the pool. I usually hate wasting my day away lounging at the pool but the architecture and layout of the pool is so pretty that I wouldn't mind lounging there all day.
Spa: I still cannot believe how cheap everything is in Cambodia, even at the hotel! I took advantage of the spa deals given by the hotel. Got a 90 minute massage for $45 dollars one day and a head/foot/hand massage for $25. Awesome deals!
Location: The hotel is closer to the airport and Angkor Wat, and is situated away from Siem Reap town center. Therefore, in order to get into the town for shopping and eating, we had to take a tuk tuk (only cost $3/one way) so not a big deal. Besides, the hotel restaurant food was wonderful so we stayed in the hotel for dinner for a couple of nights.
Overall Condition of the Property: This Le Meridien is definitely on the older side. The lobby is beautiful but our room was not as modern/luxurious as other Le Meridiens I have stayed at (e.g., Le Meridien Bangkok). For example, the couch is a wicker style couch and the TV is not flat panel. I would say the rooms are definitely due for a renovation. However, everything is clean so there are no complaints.
SPG Recognition: Got upgraded to a suite using my Suite Award Nights. As a Platinum Member, I got free non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day in the main lobby bar. Also, we got free appetizers and drinks at happy hour. Free breakfast buffet was decent. There were more perks for Platinum Members at this hotel compared to the other SPG properties we stayed at during the rest of the honeymoon.

This hotel was amazing! After a long flight the comfort the hotel offered was much appreciated. Close to the temple and market, I could find no faults with any part of my stay.
