The team here are a credit to the hotel, The pool guys Sittiporn (M) and Wee plus the guest relations manager, Joy, were superb and really looked after me and my wife. Great standards throughout the hotel.

Stayed at the Le Meridien for a couple of nights on our way to Phuket for the honeymoon. Definitely one of the nicest Le Meridien I have stayed at.
SPG Recognition: Got upgraded to a suite using my Suite Upgrade rewards. The suite was off the hook with some cool features and amenities such as double sinks in the bathroom, electronic controlled curtains, top of the line espresso maker, etc. The only thing hiccup was the front desk receptionist showed me someone else's SPG account info at check-in and then kept on getting my last name mixed up.
Location: According to my Thai friends, the location of the hotel is next to the red light district Pat Pong. However, I didn't really notice that it was an issue since we just taxi'ed to the shopping area, night market, etc.
Food: Breakfast buffet was the best one we had during our 2-week stay. The quality of the food and the selection were all stellar. They had some signature dishes designed by Jean-Georges so being a foodie, I was quite impressed.
My husband and I were definitely sad that our stay in Bangkok was only for two nights given the luxuriousness of the hotel.

Great location! Eclectic activites (bars, restaurants & shopping in the area.
Complimentary bottle water and coffee/tea - nice! Morning newspaper delivered to the door. Adequate selection of TV channels in English. Bathroom amenities OK, nothing to rave about. Adequate size room. If you are fortunate to be located on a high floor, nice view of the city lights at night. Comfy bed and air conditioner is quiet. Sky train and BTS not too far by walking. Busy area. Cleaning staff does a good job. Friendly staff - welcoming!
Bathroom shower handle is very different and not easy to turn. Grip surface is minimial.
Not alot of drawer space to store clothing and other things. Refrigerator/bar is overfilled with overpriced drinks. No space for private food and drinks.
Good internet/wifi connection for a high daily fee, approx $13 for a 24 hour period. Expensive, but I purchased it.
This is my fifth 5 star hotel I've stayed at in Bangkok. Location is the #1 factor for selecting this property. Better value/amenities for money at others, but will stay here again for the location and the service and welcoming employees.

I have stayed in Le Meridien before, but this time I was not so happy with the service provided. First the staff was not very friendly and took lots of time to process both check-in and check-out. As a SPG member I was expecting some flexibility on late check-out (I only requested until 1:00pm), but the staff did not accept it. One time the room's key was not working in the elevator, and it took me some time to get a new key, and the staff even wanted to check out my identification. Come on! Staff attitude has to be improved, as well as SPG recognition, that's why we are members for. Overall, the hotel location is good as well as the facilities.

From the moment you arrive at the hotel and the front doors are opened you are welcomed by very friendly helpful staff. The reception staff are helpful friendly and efficient and if you have any questions or queries about Bangkok they are only to pleased to help you. The room was immaculate and the views are fantastic. My only wish is that I could be back again now. But hopefully it will not belong before I a can have a break here again. This is definitely a hotel to be recommended.

Just when you think that it can't get any better, they manage to again exceed all expectations! I can't say enough good things about Le Meridien Bangkok, its facilities and its staff.
From the moment my taxi pulled into the porte-cochère, until the sad moment when I had to leave a week later, I was treated like a warmly welcomed friend.
The food at Latest Recipe continues to be exquisite, with new dishes and new preparations that are excellent. The kind and attentive staff, always smiling, make the dining experience that much more pleasant.
The rooms are exquisitely maintained, very clean, with only the highest quality toiletry products, comfortable furnishings, plush towels, and fine thread count sheets. The common areas are also well furnished, stylish and incredibly clean.
There is never a shortage of helpful staff, and there is never a shortage of smiling faces. I can't wait to come back again - for a fourth time.
As a platinum SPG guest, I stay in a lot of Starwood properties each year. I must say that Le Meridien Bangkok is truly the crown jewel of the chain. You will not find a better or more friendly staff, nor a better maintained facility, anywhere. My sincerest thanks to General Manager Ralf Stresing and his entire staff for making my vacation a memorable one!

I like this hotel a lot. They have fixed some of the minor issues I've had with them in the past. And they continue to do well in many regards.
1- Platinum recognition is excellent. Upgraded to a large beautiful suite.
2- Free drinks at happy hour at Bamboo Chic is fun and more lively than in the past. And they have some great drinks on the Platinum menu.
3- Nice quiet Platinum area at the free buffet breakfast.
4- Suites are new, clean and large. Bathrooms have rain shower heads, and a/c works well. Nice views too.
5- Service remains top notch in all areas of the hotel (from house cleaning, to front desk, to staff at the restaurant).
1- Food in the buffet could be upgraded slightly. The cooked foods are not as vegetarian friendly as they could be. As well, they have a wonderful assortment of greens for a salad - but have nothing to go with them! No peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, nada. Just greens. C'mon guys, add some other stuff.
2- Front desk staff is not trained well re the Green Choice program. According to Starwood CS you can request new towels and water - and still receive your green points. Also, I am having trouble getting both my Platinum Amenity and my Green Choice points - apparently they think Green Choice points are a platinum amenity, which of course they are not.
But those cons are minor in comparison to what is a great hotel. I'll definitely be back - and you should check them out too.

Last Friday, after a day outing in Bangkok since 10.30am, I came back to my unclean/unserviced room around 6pm; as the way I left it that morning. When I call the service number, the staff told me that the room will only be clean if you call them to clean it. Very strange policy as I thought hanging "Make My Room" is sufficient enough; or like in any other good hotel, they will come and service the room during the day regardless it is requested or not. I ended up waiting in my room while someone cleaning it; and turned up late for a dinner appointment. Extremely dissappointed with this hotel!
Not the first experience for me in this hotel, same thing happened to me in 2009; and I was being optimistic thinking that they would have improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by octal The best of a great bunch of Starwood Bangkok hotels
The most difficult thing about picking a Starwood property in Bangkok is that there are so many great choices, but I think I've settled on Le Meridien as my favorite.
I've stayed in every Starwood in town (except for a few of the new ones, which I'm trying next week). They all have great service, but Le Meridien Bangkok somehow goes beyond. The English spoken here is excellent, well beyond Bangkok hotel standards, and everyone is helpful -- not just the concierge of front desk (where you'd expect it) but cleaners, cooking staff, etc.
Where the hotel really focuses its attention, and excels, is in design. There's a partnership with a local art museum, for free admission, there are interesting art installations throughout the property (not just paintings and photos on the walls, but some amazing sculpture), and even the keycards are art. This is fairly unique focus for a hotel, and one which works well here.
The hotel seems especially popular with Japanese guests (every sign is in both English and Japanese, as well as separate signs in Thai; the cuisine options include great Japanese choices, and I see many Japanese guests).
It is also a very open and welcoming environment for all kinds of people and couples, which as a San Francisco resident I really appreciate.
The most negative thing about the property is the distance from BTS, vs. SGS/WGS (immediately outside), PA/LRM (a block or two), and Aloft/4Pts (near). But taxis are fairly cheap, and a 10 minute walk to BTS isn't going to kill you.
SPG recognition is flawless, and the property also participates in green choice environmental housekeeping reduction, so it's a great choice for SPG guests. As a platinum I love the breakfast every morning (although it pretty much means I skip lunch and sometimes dinner, it's so good and varied), the evening cocktails and snacks, and of course room upgrades (including to suites, when available, unlike some other properties.)
F&B options are somewhat limited, but I'd rather have a few great choices vs. a lot of mediocre ones. So far I've tried Latitude 13 (a great off-lobby spot), Bamboo Chic (bar and lounge), and Latest Recipe (buffet as well as a la carte, and the breakfast option) -- a great combination of French and Japanese and Thai in each.
I'm normally not a spa customer, but this time I used the spa as well -- a great value, and one of the best massages I've had (although I'm not an expert); I'd recommend it.
Overall, there are good things about each of the Starwood properties in Bangkok, but for me, Le Meridien Bangkok is my default choice for most of my nights in the city.
