Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel .. Fair Front Desk Services One hotel in Chiang Mai that we've always stayed, the location, the facilities, the services at the restaurants, spa, and the concierge. However, our experience with the front desk is not that impressive, we're not sure if we're Thai to have lower standard of services or not. If you can trainn your front desk not to have too much ego of working with one finest hotel chains, that would be great. Smile More .. Speak More Politely... March 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Service with sincerity and warm hospitality Spent 3 nights in this hotel with my family and we loved the services extended from the ground staff from the moment we entered this hotel. The staffs are always smiling sincerely and helped us as much as we they could. The concierge team was very efficient in arranging our trips as well. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable plus bottled drinking water are replenish twice aday. Kudos to the all staff that made our stay memorable. May 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not as good as before This is my third stay at your hotel and unfortunately it wasn't as good, as previous occasions. Room 1105 is looking old and a bit scruffy. I received no upgrade to the Starwood member floor, even though I booked quoting my SPg number, this was dissapointing. The hair dryer in my room was disgustingly dirty, I did hand it in to your reception staff. Not sure if I would stay again, which is sad, as before I've had great stays. February 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel is ideally situated near the action Stayed right before Christmas break. Hotel is ideally situated next to night market - you can't get better location than that! Staff were great and were exceptionally courteous. Am a Gold and they went out of their way several times to acknowledge me and my kids. Pool is indeed cool but kids loved it and I liked the refreshing plunge. Pool itself is quite neat and has great views of the mountain and temple in the distance. January 2, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location, lovely staff Location of the hotel is good - walking distance to old town and only 15 minutes from the airport. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Club lounge was also very good. Only down-side was some noisy neighbours - walls could do with being a little more soundproof! Pool area and seating is also not really adequate for the size of hotel. But in general, a very pleasant stay. May 5, 2014

I suppose she was the one arranging for a cake to be put inside my room as a surprise. Thanks to the wonderful staff and it definitely made my day all the better! June 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Chiang Mai Le Meridien The hotel is rated as five star but I only can see it as a four star at best. The shower area has black mold in-between the tile and cracks in some areas. Also the "Rain" shower doesn't work at all. Bath towels are thin from a five star standard. The breakfast buffet needs better temperature control as most dishes are just warm. As SPG preferred member, my room was not in the "preferred guest" level. April 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great place for Business or Pleasure The Meridien Chiang Mai is located close to restaurants, shops, coffee houses, the night market and more. The staff is attentive and friendly. The hotel facilities are excellent. Both the pool and Gym are very nice. Parking is convenient and local transportation is abundant. Prices are very reasonable at the hotel's outlets. I would recommend this hotel for a holiday stay, business or special event. August 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location, room, food, view, staff We stayed two weeks and enjoyed every day. The Club Lounge is great and service exceptional. Our room had a terrific mountain view with a tub for two that had a great view of the city. The night market location is perfect and always easy to get transportation to wherever. We look forward to staying here again in the future. (pool great but water a bit cold, but we were here in the colder season) December 26, 2011

Rated 4 out of 5 by Internet Love the hotel with one HUGE exception. Provide free wifi in the room. No one is happy about a nickel and dime charge for in room wifi (in this case $20!!), when 1 and 2 star hotels are offering it for free. So you have dozens of guests sitting in the lobby on the internet using the free wifi - makes zero sense. Just raise your room rate a few dollars and provide this critical item. September 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Hotel Overall the hotel met our expectation and front desk staff are all very helpful. Location is great with easy access to the night bazaar which is right infront. Good spread of food for breakfast but could vary the food a bit more as we saw mostly the same spread over our 3 nights stay. Should have free wifi access in the room instead of having to come down to lobby for free wifi. March 31, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location, nice rooms and amenities The hotel is a modern design hotel in a great location, walking distance from attractions, shops and the night market. Amenities are very good although prices for food and spa are a little high. Hwever, everything was excellent and tasty. The staff is nice when you ask for their guidance but less upfront with friendly advises as I experienced in other SPG hotels in Thailand. March 24, 2013

Staffs are friendly, especially front desk and bellman. Check-in and check-out process are very fast and convenient. We spent 2 nights in this hotel. located close to the night bazaar market where you can find some local product as well as great place for eat around the hotel. Room is very clean, modern which we can see the night view of Doi Suthep. Bed very comfortable and very suit for us. Pool also great place for relax. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Meridien Standard I stay here regulalrly on business and usually enjoy the stay. Sometimes I have had problems in the past with getting meeting rooms at reasonable rates. This time I was kindly offere a room for five meetings as part of my package. This was a kind gesture and will bring me back. The hotel is comfortable and the staff try very hard to make my stay as nice as possible. September 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent location. we enjoyed our visit to chiangmai very much partly because of the location of the hotel. we were able to walk to many great eating and shopping places within old chiangmai and across the ping river. the room itself was fantastic to come back to after each of our outings, clean and comfortable. concierge was knowledgeable and helpful in recommending places to visit. Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Nice Hotel My wife and I spent 3 nights at this hotel in March 2013. We stayed in a suite and it was excellent. The service was very good, beds comfortable. We made use of the club lounge and the food and service was excellent. Only caution is not to arrange a pick-up at the airport through the hotel. It is about 3 times more expensive than a local taxi. Taxis are quite good. March 24, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent service It was my first time at this property, and I had a great stay. Although I was a little surprised upon arrival that the lobby attendants would not let me up to the club lounge reception to check in. I had to wait in line in the lobby, speak to the reception, who then proceeded to direct me to check in at the club lounge. The location of the hotel is superb - just outside the old city and literally right along the night market. You'll find restaurants and shopping conveniently around the hotel as well. The facilities are great - pool, gym, and spa. Good selection of restaurants, although a dedicated Thai restaurant would have been nice. And the club lounge. Excellent service and views of the mountain. Get a window seat during cocktail hour, and you will get a breathtaking view of the sun setting behind the mountain. I cannot speak enough about the service. They really go out of their way to take care of you. Well done! March 13, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Hotel In Paradise Enjoyed my stay in this hotel as the room and the view of the mountain was superb. Counter staff was kind enough to upgrade my room as they did not have a king size bedroom (as requested during reservation) available do to full occupancy. Kudos to the front office staff in making me happy after I was told that I could not have a king size bed with a good view. August 16, 2012

Got everything organized thru email with SPG Front desk Manager (highly professional). Kids and wife were delighted with the pool and I was delighted with the fitness center. Rated 5 out of 5 by best SPG staff and recognition Starwood should send some of their US employees to this hotel to train on hospitality and how to treat platinum members! The upgraded suite was gorgeous and the staff were fantastic in arranging transportation and tours. My one and only negative comment was to maybe consider not serving such poor quality of sugar water juices at breakfast in the restaurants. January 5, 2012

I've stayed in my share, and let me tell you the moment I stepped foot out of my car in front of Le Meridien Chiang Mai I was wowed by the professionalism and high standards set forth by the staff. I wasn't even halfway into the lobby before I was greeted by name and led to my room where I was upgraded and checked in without fuss. I had an injured back, and had transferred from their sister property in Chiang Rai, and this hotel's front office manager had arranged a bath drawn just to ease my pain! Does: 'out of this world' sound about right? I really have no idea why I will ever stay in Bangkok or any other part of Thailand again. You have everything you could possibly want right in Chiang Mai, only no smog, no hellish waits in a taxi, and tons of culture and hip-hop happening things to do. I stayed in this hotel for a dozen nights, and want so much to return I actually left baggage there, much to my wife's chagrin! The main dining room is on the lobby level and is staffed by the most attentive and eager-to-please team of young future Thai executives I have ever seen. That goes for the 2nd floor Italian 'ristorante' Favalo, where one young gentleman manager was so on top of things I practically had to bribe him to stay away for fear the other guests might get jealous! The pool and gym are perfect respites from the dazzle dazzle outdoors. I was on the mend and found the equipment and staff to be top-notch, and my wife floated about in the pool for hours on end. The city and mountain view from the stationary bicycle is stunning! The whole vibe of this hotel puts the likes of even Starwood's more glittery or higher-category properties to shame. Really, this hotel could easily change its moniker and be rebranded at a far-higher level. The design of the public areas, details like brilliant stands of flora in glass, slick lighting flooding the spaces with colors and ambiance, savvy sounds, and even a club lounge where the fresh-faced staff running it become your old friends, and always remember to put a small spoon on the front edge of your saucer—simply superb! The top brass here aren't slouches either! The hotel manager actually helped save us from an immigration nightmare. The guest services manager arranged my doctor's appointments, and the front desk manager was an ever-present delight both personally and in being so selflessly there for us. We even shared a drink or two with the hotel's top management team, led by a GM famous for his cycling prowess, who we really can't say enough about how gracious and impressive he was/is. Starwood has got a winning team out in the middle of Northern Thailand and I wish they'd send out a video crew and spend a few weeks making truing videos for the rest of the company's properties to study! If every Starwood were run as well as Le Meridien Chiang Mai, we wouldn't need to write these reviews anymore. July 21, 2014

I am a 5 years'scustomer of The chedi wich is a great reference of what excellence of service is in Chiangmai. I would say that Le Meridien met my expectations. Guest just walk from the lobby of the hotel then will find a place for shopping, local products and many things you will buy for your family and friends-at night market.
