Rated 5 out of 5 by Terrific location, Great Service Stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. Our room was facing the mountains and it was beautiful. The Club Lounge had everything one can ask for and the service superb. The staff in general were great and extremely courteous. The housekeeping can use some training and improvement. Once we were given a pair of slippers that has already been used and complimentary tootbrush/toothpase were missing and only one handsoap between the wash basin, bathtub and showers. Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolute Gem As a Platinum member I have stayed at several of the Starwood Hotels over the years. This Hotel makes me me believe that my Loyalty to Starwood does have its benefits. If ever I went into the Hotel business, I would want all my staff to be like theirs. There are so many Hotels in Asia with staff that don't have the same respect for their guests as they did years ago, The Meridien Chiang Mai still has it. Hopefully they will never change. We had a wonderful experience. May 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice spacious lobby and rooms with good decor and size -Feels that they should look into the crowd lingering at the lobby. Came back at 12+am and saw a group of guests from India sitting around the sofa with feet up the chairs. -Nice gesture as I was using the WIFI at the bar area and staff took the initiative and served me iced water -Water flow in the bathroom was not good and the toilet bowl was stuck on my day of departure. - Water from standing shower will flow out to the tiles even though rooms are closed March 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellence.........again. An excellence experience, again at the leMeridien. Not one to vacation in any city twice, where Chiang Mai has draw my husband / myself three times, our choice of hotels has been, as would be the leMerdien, as the service is outstanding. beginning with an upgrade to the junior suite........ awww the junior suite with the spacious living room, to relax in once you have managed to crawl out of the tub. Crawl out as the view is overlooking the city, mountains, and you have relaxed to your hearts desire. Luxury, at its peak. Breakfast in the quiet of the club lounge to the buffet on the main floor, the service is outstanding. Even on a crowded morning on the main floor , the food items were replenished rapidly, even my coffee cup. Directions, given willing and easy to understand. Did not use the pool, as my desire was to explore............ October 31, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel but except the toilet Our overall experience in this hotel were great. The night bazaar was very near to the hotel and the staff were helpful and friendly. I'd booked three Le Royal Club Rooms but unfortunately the rooms were not connecting so it was not convenient for young children who wish to stay on the other room. The bathroom was clean but toilet bowl (WC) easily stuck and overflow. Quiet disgusting. Had to call for maintenance twice for two different rooms. December 30, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location and very modern! We recently stayed at this very centrally located property. You virtually walk out of the Hotel straight to the Night Market. Great Breakfast and Happy Hour by the Pool Bar. Above all we had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. March 4, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lovely Chiangmai A beautiful structure with nice ambiance and cozy rooms right at the centre of city. Except for few dips rest was a good n enjoyable stay. March 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Service with sincerity and warm hospitality Spent 3 nights in this hotel with my family and we loved the services extended from the ground staff from the moment we entered this hotel. The staffs are always smiling sincerely and helped us as much as we they could. The concierge team was very efficient in arranging our trips as well. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable plus bottled drinking water are replenish twice aday. Kudos to the all staff that made our stay memorable. May 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not as good as before This is my third stay at your hotel and unfortunately it wasn't as good, as previous occasions. Room 1105 is looking old and a bit scruffy. I received no upgrade to the Starwood member floor, even though I booked quoting my SPg number, this was dissapointing. The hair dryer in my room was disgustingly dirty, I did hand it in to your reception staff. Not sure if I would stay again, which is sad, as before I've had great stays. February 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel is ideally situated near the action Stayed right before Christmas break. Hotel is ideally situated next to night market - you can't get better location than that! Staff were great and were exceptionally courteous. Am a Gold and they went out of their way several times to acknowledge me and my kids. Pool is indeed cool but kids loved it and I liked the refreshing plunge. Pool itself is quite neat and has great views of the mountain and temple in the distance. January 2, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Is this really a 5 star hotel? The hotel has a good location and the building is still modern, clean and well maintained. The restaurants serve good food, nothing special but okay which is quite shocking given the price. Even if you are not sensitive to the cold you will need a sweater... They are freezing and even the staff hate it. That leads to the next problem - the staff... slow, lazy, limited English, no French - big smiles follow by a puzzled look as they really don't have a clue what anyone is asking them. Try getting service by the pool. Whilst the male staff member cleaned the sun lounges the female staff member said she mans the bar and doesn't take orders... Funny the demands on her time given I was the only one at the pool at the time and I hadn't ordered a drink... I would have loved to order but having to go to the staff to place orders instead of them coming to me makes be feel like I'm really bothering them too greatly. I did go order and the food by the pool was okay... Flat given the price. If staying be careful not to get a room near the lifts - the noise is high. For a fairly new hotel it's surprising the amount of noise from the hallway. This is particularly noticeable at 7:45 when the staff are yabbering in the hallway when cleaning the rooms opposite and vacuuming the hallways... Again, feels like as a guest you're there to fit in around the staff needs. This is a good 4*. Price is cheap compared to other locations. I would have stayed longer but.... March 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Standard Le Meridien Hotel Just a standard Le Meridien Hotel March 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by ““Surpassed Expectation”” Le Méridien is top notch! Lobby is beautiful, customer service is excellent rooms are well kept and impeccably clean I had access to the club lounge on the top floor where the staff was always extremely polite and helpful Perfect location with pretty much everything on your doorstep that you'd need. Plus a quick journey from the airport. January 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Chiang Mai Le Meridien The hotel is rated as five star but I only can see it as a four star at best. The shower area has black mold in-between the tile and cracks in some areas. Also the "Rain" shower doesn't work at all. Bath towels are thin from a five star standard. The breakfast buffet needs better temperature control as most dishes are just warm. As SPG preferred member, my room was not in the "preferred guest" level. April 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great place for Business or Pleasure The Meridien Chiang Mai is located close to restaurants, shops, coffee houses, the night market and more. The staff is attentive and friendly. The hotel facilities are excellent. Both the pool and Gym are very nice. Parking is convenient and local transportation is abundant. Prices are very reasonable at the hotel's outlets. I would recommend this hotel for a holiday stay, business or special event. August 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location, room, food, view, staff We stayed two weeks and enjoyed every day. The Club Lounge is great and service exceptional. Our room had a terrific mountain view with a tub for two that had a great view of the city. The night market location is perfect and always easy to get transportation to wherever. We look forward to staying here again in the future. (pool great but water a bit cold, but we were here in the colder season) December 26, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location The hotel is in a great location. Sadly the pool was freezing cold even though it was 30c out and very warm. Many guests were annoyed that the pool was not heated as was I. The rooms are a bit run down and in need of a deep clean to be that of SPG standards. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rated 4 out of 5 by Internet Love the hotel with one HUGE exception. Provide free wifi in the room. No one is happy about a nickel and dime charge for in room wifi (in this case $20!!), when 1 and 2 star hotels are offering it for free. So you have dozens of guests sitting in the lobby on the internet using the free wifi - makes zero sense. Just raise your room rate a few dollars and provide this critical item. September 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Hotel Overall the hotel met our expectation and front desk staff are all very helpful. Location is great with easy access to the night bazaar which is right infront. Good spread of food for breakfast but could vary the food a bit more as we saw mostly the same spread over our 3 nights stay. Should have free wifi access in the room instead of having to come down to lobby for free wifi. March 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location, nice rooms and amenities The hotel is a modern design hotel in a great location, walking distance from attractions, shops and the night market. Amenities are very good although prices for food and spa are a little high. Hwever, everything was excellent and tasty. The staff is nice when you ask for their guidance but less upfront with friendly advises as I experienced in other SPG hotels in Thailand. March 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent & Efficient hotel This is an excellent hotel. Clean room with full facility, in-room safe, complimentary bottle drink, coffee & tea, ironing, comfortable bed, huge room, etc... Friendly & efficient staff. One very sad point, In-room wifi chargeable! Hope management review this. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by MODERN HOTEL AND GREAT LOCATION. We spent 2 nights in this hotel. located close to the night bazaar market where you can find some local product as well as great place for eat around the hotel. Room is very clean, modern which we can see the night view of Doi Suthep. Bed very comfortable and very suit for us. Pool also great place for relax. I love Le meridien Chiang mai and I will be back for sure. December 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not even placed on an SPG floor Despite my number being placed on my reservation, I was not acknowledged as and SPG gold member and not asked about preferred benefits. I already had free wifi as I was attending a conference who had set that up. So all in all, it is a very nice hotel, but they need to work on their SPG recognition January 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Meridien Standard I stay here regulalrly on business and usually enjoy the stay. Sometimes I have had problems in the past with getting meeting rooms at reasonable rates. This time I was kindly offere a room for five meetings as part of my package. This was a kind gesture and will bring me back. The hotel is comfortable and the staff try very hard to make my stay as nice as possible. September 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Nice Hotel My wife and I spent 3 nights at this hotel in March 2013. We stayed in a suite and it was excellent. The service was very good, beds comfortable. We made use of the club lounge and the food and service was excellent. Only caution is not to arrange a pick-up at the airport through the hotel. It is about 3 times more expensive than a local taxi. Taxis are quite good. March 24, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent service It was my first time at this property, and I had a great stay. Although I was a little surprised upon arrival that the lobby attendants would not let me up to the club lounge reception to check in. I had to wait in line in the lobby, speak to the reception, who then proceeded to direct me to check in at the club lounge. The location of the hotel is superb - just outside the old city and literally right along the night market. You'll find restaurants and shopping conveniently around the hotel as well. The facilities are great - pool, gym, and spa. Good selection of restaurants, although a dedicated Thai restaurant would have been nice. And the club lounge. Excellent service and views of the mountain. Get a window seat during cocktail hour, and you will get a breathtaking view of the sun setting behind the mountain. I cannot speak enough about the service. They really go out of their way to take care of you. Well done! March 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent location. we enjoyed our visit to chiangmai very much partly because of the location of the hotel. we were able to walk to many great eating and shopping places within old chiangmai and across the ping river. the room itself was fantastic to come back to after each of our outings, clean and comfortable. concierge was knowledgeable and helpful in recommending places to visit. January 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent hotel for service and location. 2nd stay at LM Chiang Mai this year. Centrally located and the service, especially at the Executive Lounge, was excellent. Staff are knowledgable and will try to meet guests' needs. I needed to check-out early and require slightly early breakfast service. I was allowed to pre-order the night before and had it served at the opening breakfast time. November 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Everything Is Fine Except A Bit Pricey 1st time in Chiang Mai and stayed in this hotel Its everything a 5-Star hotel should have but we find it a bit too pricey at over BHT6,000 per night. The room was adequate but nothing ground breaking or fantastic. The daily breakfast is ordinary with no extra ordinary services. January 20, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by This hotel has no WI-FI in guest room, very out of date Wi-fi is most important for modern day communication, there's hardly any hotel the world not providing free wi-fi in guest room, Le Meridien in Chiang Mai is one of them, which is disappointing. Staff also not well mannered, reluctant to service. Rooms not ready when arrived and mixed up rooms - not up to standard. December 29, 2013
