My greatest frustration with this stay is that I left my wallet in the safe. The manager on duty would not check the safe once I realized it was gone. I could not return to the hotel as I was on my way to Australia and realized it was missing at the airport. What I really needed was to get the wallet back, and she would not even check. Just said the wallet wasn't there.

I was thrilled upon opening the door to my room to find a nicely appointed room, beautiful bedding and a mini fridge. But the stay was made perfect when I walked out onto the large, private balcony with lounge chairs facing the ocean. I kept the door open at night and enjoyed cool, fresh air.
In addition, the staff were very accommodating. Overall I was very pleased.

I paid an extra $50 per night because I had four people in my double room. Still, I had to call housekeeping on both days of my stay to get bath towels for the two extra people. There was a $22 per day parking surcharge despite the fact I used the "complimentary free parking" garage. And, to charge extra for wi-fi access after what I paid for the room is robbery.

Had a comfortable stay. Location is close enough to the beach to walk. On-premise staff did not honor included full breakfast which was supposed to be included with package rate. Multiple attempts to clear up the issue with multiple staff members was not successful, and in the end, I paid out of pocket for meals that should have been included/pre-paid for.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in August/September 2013, it was our first visit to the USA.
Our first introduction to the USA was meeting Jimmy from Le Meridian (it was a Sheraton when we stayed) and he was fantastic!
Jimmy is a valuable asset to this hotel.
Thank you so much Jimmy for making our family holiday so memorable.

Incredibly overpriced room service and bar food. Bar area is dark and boring with terrible music - no wonder this hotel is a lifeless ghost town. It's like they're allergic to customers.
When we explained our concerns about the boring atmosphere and severely-overpriced food to the bartender, she suggested maybe we should just go somewhere else. Nice.

The hotel is nice and exceptional staff. Unfortunately, the room service meal i had was horrible: Wilted, over-dressed salad that tasted dirty and an overcooked hamburger with no mayo, ketchup, mustard included. The ocean views are not worth paying for unless you're above the 5th floor - otherwise you're just looking at a bunch of apartment buildings.

I had been looking forward to my stay at the Sheraton in Santa Monica as part of my Highway 1 trip but was left extremely disappointed with the location of the hotel and in particular the room (having paid for an upgrade to club). The club lounge was also poor value for the extra money paid. Finally, the pool was very small for the size of the hotel.

We went to the Santa Monica area for the fun in the sun. The hotel was drab, the pool area small and dated. There was no jacuzzi. There is inadequate parking and the fees for valet are very high, with no previous discussion/warning of lack of parking. We would not recommend this hotel and would not stay there again. This is at best a 2 star hotel.

IT WAS OBVIOUS FROM THE MOMENT I WALKED INTO THE LOBBY, THAT THE DELFINA REFLECTED A REFINED AMBIANCE ACHIEVED BY A CARING STAFF.
THIS PROVED TO BE TRUE THROUGH MY ENTIRE STAY; FOR EXAMPLE: THE COFFEE TABLE BOOKS AND SOOTHING JAZZ MUSIC
PLAYING IN THE LOBBY PROVIDED A VERY PLEASANT RETREAT AT THE END OF THE DAY. I WILL RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ALL.

The outside was surprisingly old, but they clearly gutted it to reflect Starwood famous modern style. My room had a huge balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The staff was helpful & courteous. The bartender made an amazing Bloody Mary that we made it a point to go downstairs everyday to get one. The hotel was personal & customer orientated.

The reason I chose this hotel because it was close to LAX and I can avoid traffic. However, I was really disappointed with the check out process. The front desk staff was very helpful while the bell man and the valet took over half an hour to get my luggues and my car. Luckily, my flight was delayed otherwise I would surely miss the flight.

I should have called front desk but Christmas spirit overtook them. They were in room 712 and someone was smoking on the balcony adjacent to theirs. Son and Daught-in-Law had to close windows and stifle the beautiful beeze they were enjoying. Action needed because smoke and smell is very irritating. Otherwise stay was appreciated.

First time staying at this location and was surprised how big the rooms where.. I had booked a standard studio room and it was great very homely and massive bathroom. The location of this hotel is great excessable to the promenade and easy to find.
I would highly recommend this hotel and the staff were extremely friendly.

Wasted all kinds of time trying to get internet access which was needed for some travel plans we needed to make. Very, very frustrating, talking to your Indian help desk. They finally got it working after an hour or so in the evening, but then it didn't work again in the morning!?!?!!! I'll never stay at this hotel again.

My stay was awful, the heater in the room continuously dripped, the shower had mold and the staff interrupted my sleep and woke me up at 8:00 am because they needed to get to the electrical box located in my room. Also, I had tons of bags and the concierge did not help me at all, they were too busy talking to each other.

The decor was nice, the beach view was great but that's about it.
Shower sucked, water kept changing temperature and kept sputtering.
Balcony light was set to 8:30PM. Ahh, in December the sun sets around 5:30pm. I called to request to have the light turned on earlier... nobody returned my call or did anything about it.

On our last night there was a very loud party above our heads until after 11 pm. We had a baby in the room trying to sleep and we wanted to get some sleep before we got up at 2 am to catch a plane. We were not happy. No complimentary WiFi in your room. You are welcome to sit in the lobby and conduct your business.

The room was spacious and bright. Although the linen was clean, the room smelled of cigarette smoke. Parking was convenient, however, the self parking lot was filled so I had to valet. I observed non-guests parking in garage and walking up the block. Breakfast was delicious, and convenient. I would stay again.

On 2nd floor, too noisy since too close to public areas. No real view.
Room; smelly (like someone had smoked there).
Mirror in bathroom missing
Lamp shade to patio missing with open wires
TV control did not work properly
I guess these things did not get found out since few people would stay in this room.

We are a family of three. This hotel is old, with small, dark, dirty rooms. Amenities are over priced (a casual lunch, ie. sandwiches and water, was priced at over $50 for 3 people) and parking is a NIGHTMARE. We will not be staying here again. The only thing great about this hotel is the location.

I know, it sounds petty, but I was here on a business trip, so gotta have my cup of joe! They told me the hotel was out of coffee packets for the rooms' coffee makers. So we'll bring you some. Never showed up. So I got dressed and went down to the Club Lounge. No coffee there either!! Weird...

The Delfina is a wonderful hotel in the Starwood Chain. Great location within walking distance to all the action in Santa Monica. Yes it is a smaller property but great service and attentive staff. I would highly recommend this hotel if you need to be in this particular area of Los Angeles.

We checked in on Friday evening and our room was not ready. Something about a short staff that day. We were moved to the 9 th floor which was fine but a party was going on in the penthouse so the kids did not get to sleep. We were also next to the service elevator which kept going intermittently. Self Parking was unavailable so we valeted but at 20 a day, a bit steep. The receptionist did give us free wi if for the inconvenience but as a spy member I should have had that anyway. The next evening the adjacent room had noise until 3 am. Loud talking and tv as if they were in our room. We complained to DJ the next morning and he was fabulous. He had us move rooms , put us in the Sheraton club, which we were unaware of and made us feel like we wanted to feel on vacation. DJ took over and made us feel very welcome. It is employees such as DJ that turned us around on our entire experience! Thank you for empowering your employees at the point of customer contact and thank you for DJ and his warm smile.

We reserved parking for self parking and our space was not available the same night three times and cones we removed!!!! I demanded to have free valet as we are a four star elite owner!!!! Not happy with the parking situation at all!!! We had to request valet it was not asked of us!!!!

Wifi was so slow we couldn't use it.
The club lounge is by the pool and no one monitors it so nothing was available.
Valet is really slow.
Used my suite night reward and was in a low floor and really loud. Not worth using up my reward.
Not impressed and will not be coming back.

I was disappointed in the housekeeping service. I had to call the desk everyday with a list of things not replaced, ie, coffee, soap, creamer, etc.
Valet service and desk were very good. Rooms on 2nd floor average. There was an apartment pool right outside our only sliding door.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times, but this time we brought our dog. It was a pleasure to be so comfortable in our surroundings. We were always greeted warmly when we pulled up to the entrance of the hotel. We love all the new renovations, another great job by starwood.

Good hotel fairly central in Santa Monica. Rooms were nice with OK views. Great, friendly staff. Good bar/lounge area. Only negative is wish it were a few blocks closer to the beach, it's a little bit of a walk to the Pier or other areas, not bad, but wish it was a bit closer.

nicely remodeled, but wi-if and valet parking should be free. there is inadequate free self parking spots so paying the $20 valet charge is inevitable if you leave the hotel. who charges for in-room wifi nowadays? will go somewhere else next time to avoid these inconveniences.
