Rated 4 out of 5 by Chris1966 The BEST!!
My wife and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate my 50th birthday. The only reason I am not giving the hotel full stars is due to the lack of a swimming beach. Lots of rocks and coral.....not ideal for swimming.
Everything else are amazing! Most of all their personnel. Everyone is friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
I have seen other reviews indicating the same, but none are exaggerated!
We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the adults-only Nirvana section, with it's own pool and bar. They should do something about the noise levels in the afternoon though......for those that want to take a nap.
All inclusive packages are basically a must, as drinks can become quite expensive.
The temperatures (air, sea, and pools) are cold this time of year, and unfortunately we didn't see much sun for the week we stayed. 7 days of windy conditions also didn't help! Still a very enjoyable week......
Luckily we stayed at the Le Meridien as we had everything we needed at the hotel.
Just a shopping tip: You don't need to go to Port Louis markets, or Grand Baie Bazaar for shopping. The shops at the hotel are very well priced. We did enjoy our trip to Grand Baie with the local bus though ........cheapest way to get around, but waiting for the bus is a pain!
Le Meridien has 4 restaurants giving a wide variety of foods available. We tried all of the restaurants over the first 3 days, but then stuck to La Faya - The most unbelievable food and staff!! They made very meal special. Best, best, best food! 10 Stars to Nitish and his team, especially Santy and Poojah (and the Turk who speaks so many languages - couldn't remember his name).
Wouldn't stay anywhere else should we go back to Mauritius.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 10 nights and didn't want to leave. The hotel building is spread out along a lovely stretch of beach enclosed by a coral reef, it is not a boutique hotel but a relaxed spacious place that is a little ragged around the edges which is its charm. We stayed in the Nirvana section which is secluded from the main hotel with the pool being for adults only. It was extremely peaceful and we relaxed on our comfortable sun beds most days which were a few steps from our room next to the lovely infinity pool.
The real beauty of the hotel is its staff and food. We cannot highlight how superb the service is, how welcoming and pleasant the staff are, we were looked after so well we wondered if they suspected that we were hotel inspectors but everyone received the same individual attention.
We ate at all of the restaurants and the standard of cuisine was excellent at them but the one which stole our hearts was 'La Feya' where the staff could not do enough for us and the food was exquisite. Nitish and his team; Pooja, Avish, Kushal, Jarun, Vinesh, Rovin and Santy were no less than brilliant. They were our 'A' team.
We had a special meal for our 1st anniversary whilst there which was held on the jetty. We paid extra for it but it was a special memory which we will hold forever, Sanjays team provided the most delicious dinner, I would have paid just for the fish soup which deserves a couple of Michelin stars.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone, we will be back next year for at least 2 weeks.

The resort is very beautiful with each room having a great beach view. The hotel staff is very helpful. The beach activities are really fun to do and even the spa experience is awesome.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Vk1990 I think this hotel is overpriced and hyped up
This place looks amazing and the views are to die for. But the need to be cleaner in their rooms and staff needs to be more organised.
1- when we arrived, we were not welcomed and directed to a parking, we had to pick up our own luggage and come to reception, at other resorts, we were warmly welcomed and everything was clearly explained and we also got a tour.
2- aircon was not working, and was not even fixed when reported
3- the bath robe was not cleaned because there was a dirty tssuie in the pocket. I wonder what else they don't clean.
4- after the spa, I paid the bill. I was getting charged again for the same thing when I was leaving.
5- drinks are way overpriced (140rs for a vital bottle) and food very average compared to other resorts.
6- sand in the sea is very rocky but if you are snorkelling, you can see amazing fishes.
Even though the view and the hotel room was amazing, it was a bit of a let down for us because the staff looked sleepy and obligated to help us.

Le Meridien, Mauritius, has become our home away from home. Visiting at least once a year for an extended family holiday, we were once again greeted with warmth and friendliness. Although not immediately recognised as regular visitors, once made aware we were treated and taken care of very well. The hotel is definitely getting older and in need of some TLC. Our stay was made special by the staff, special note to Pamela working in restaurants. Great beach areas kept in good nick. Would like stand up paddle boards for next visit as most hotels in Mauritius now offer these. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a great family visit.
