The staff on the royal club are wonderful.
They are smiling all the time, motivated to work and do their best to make guest comfort.
The staff respond to my need fast and efficient.
The shuttle driver is very professional, they help me to transfer my luggage to and from the airport cart.
The food was good except the bread and pastery were not covered in breakfast.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ammar Really a very bad experience
I was staying at the Le Méridien Heliopolis on 10th April 2013. My stay was offered by Egypt Air, which boasts itself as a Star Alliance Member. The name Le Méridien Heliopolis in itself is a niche but to my dismay i was terribly effected by the hospitality showcased by most of the staff. The 1st experience at the reception itself was tragic which was followed by the rude addressing of your staff at the restaurant & things followed similarly. Few of the staff was good & co-operative but lacked politeness tremendously. The food was good & i relished it, but we were not there for eating. Rooms were stinking, there was no drinking water in the room which again is a big turn off as back at my place i.e. Mumbai (India) we feel blessed to serve water to guests.
I travel around the globe & with the grace of Almighty i have stayed at the most prestigious hotels including Le Meredien & they had all made my stay memorable. I dont know when i will visit Cairo next but i will surely advice all my associates & friends visiting there to avoid being at the Le Méridien Heliopolis.

Rated 2 out of 5 Horrible Experience
I have never felt this kind of cheapness from a hotel, it seemed like everyone is trying to robb you and take your money, the hotel doesn't reflect the 5 stars that it has, staff were not pleasant and many of them had a clear attitude problem.
Will never stay there again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Naser66 Good Value Hotel
I stayed at this hotel for six nights while on a business trip to Egypt. Location is great and safe as it is far from downtown and close to the airport. The staff are great and do their best to meet your needs. I remember one night around 1:00 am I called to ask for a channel on Al Jazeera Sports where my national team was playing. The guy responded to my request and I am very thankful for him. Overall, I would love to see more English movie channels as they are mainly Arabic ones.Breakfast was great, room service was quick with good selection. Will stay their again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nomad Great Staff and Friendly atmosphere
On arrival at the airport was met by one of the hotel staff before immigration and he dealt with all the procedures and felt like a VIP from day one.
We got on the shuttle bus and was taken to the hotel. The bus driver did try to ask for tips even though he stated that the trip was free :)
Was taken to reception and everyone we met was very friendly and courteous.
The food was good and overall an excellent experience. I must state that the hotel is a bit dated but that is out of their power. The hotel management do an excellent job of making up this shortfall through having quality staff who make you feel at home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by eli1977 A good hotel in the area of Heliopolis
I have stayed at this hotel many times. If you have business in the area of Heliopolis it is a great hotel to stay at. The people are very friendly and the staff is really helpful.
The breakfast selection is really good and the coffee is really great!
It is located on a really busy street and I would not recommend having a room overlooking the highway.
The rooms are a bit old looking but the internet is free. Avoid low floor rooms over the weekend as many wedding receptions are held and one might have problems with the sound - loud music.
Overall it is value for money as most hotels in Cairo overcharge.

Rated 3 out of 5 by supatight80 Mixed Feelings...
Didn't get upgraded to their select standard suites as a platinum member but that is ok. However, I would have given this property 4/5 stars if they didn't leave me stranded in the airport waiting for their advertised complimentary pick-up service.
Waited for over 45 minutes, going around T-3 CAI looking for their representative but to no avail. Keep in mind that I personally spoke with 3 different front desks in person my ETA. Decided to take a taxi which they reimbursed me (after several calls to speak with a supervisor)
I would stay here again only due to low redemption points.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Hartmut Absolutely unexcaptable
Even though we had a E-Mail-message 2 days before our arrival - at the reception we were "wellcomed" with the unfriendly answer, that there is no reservation and no room for us. Only after a very long discussion we could check in.
I never had such an experience in my whole life (and I´m 57 years old). The stuff was so unfriendly - this was also a new expierence at Starwood-Hotels for me and I hope that this will be the first and last one.

Very Friendly staff
Throughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely hotel.
Even though it will eventually need a renovation, the staff more than made up for it.
Even though the hotel needs renovating, everything was working and clean.
At breakfast there was a lady who insisted to make me Foul (Egyptian beans) and boy was it lovely
I also liked the fact that everyone was more than happy to help and always had a big smile.
Room service was a pleasure to call as they were so polite

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sadman old hotel but met my expectations....
recently had a one night stay here....the property is close to the airport & they offer a free pick up & drop service....the driving time is about 10 minutes....
as a platinum i was upgraded to an executive suite & was offered both the 500 amenity points & the free breakfast....since we had an early morning flight we did not have a chance to sample the breakfast....
property is definitely old & the room furniture & walls were showing their age....but for a one night stay close to the airport it was sufficient....
i wouldn't hesitate to stay here again....

Rated 3 out of 5 by Spaniard38 Hotel needs refurbishment
The hotel is convenient in terms of location. However, the hotel needs a full refurbishment. The rooms are old, the carpets are old, the whole decoration looks just old. The cafeteria is ok, but it is horrible to see the maitre killing cockroaches next to the cheeses with an electric stick while we were getting our food for breakfast. I mean, it's ok to kill these annoying insects, but wouldn't it be better to do a really good disinfection of the whole kitchen and restaurant? The staff is good, some people are better than others, but in general fairly good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Harry67 Enjoy the comfort of Le Meridien Heliopolis, Cairo
I have travelled to many locations around the world and stayed at excellent hotels. My recent visit to Cairo was a pleasant one due to the fact that I stayed at this Hotel. The rooms were luxurious and very comfortable. The staff is out there 24/7 to serve and accompany you to anything you might request. From the minute you enter the lobby you are greeted with smiles no matter how many times you go in and out. Very nice location being near the airport. I fully recommend this 5 star hotel.

Hotel is old and you can notice this as it is not reinnovated, only recognition as SPG member is to be in 6 floor, and this floor was dirty and you can see dirt every where while you walk down to the room, swimming pool was closed because it is winter but problem it was dirty, water is so dirty and looks ugly, Parking is paid for hotel residents and this is wiered, club is closed and only opens in private parties, room was nice and clean, staff were friendly, breakfast was nice

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotspur Very comfortable
I spent 7 nights at this hotel on business having been relocated away from central Cairo because of the troubles there. I was pleasantly surprised by the Meridien where the staff were friendly and the spacious room were well appointed with free internet. The only negatives were the noise of the outside traffic, as the hotel is located on a main artery road out of the city to the airport, and the St. Germain restaurant had a slightly limited menu for a 7 night stay.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MB125 This hotel is acceptable if you know what to expect.
Great location and close to the airport. Forget the 5 star rating as it is nowhere near!
A double bed means 2 single beds, a single coffee mug in the room for 2 people, faulty kettle didn't switch off and spilled water and became dangerously hot. Tea and coffee provided but no milk.
However, the breakfast buffet was excellent.
Staff are friendly and polite but poorly trained !

Rated 3 out of 5 by businessTravel75 Very expensive and not for business tourist
Stayed for a few nights on a business trip to Cairo. Reception was not very focused at my arrival and was talking to some other customers while looking after my reservation.
Room were nice and clean however the overall experience failed to add the WOW factor. The swimming pool was only open from 9am to 6pm, excluding usage to a professional traveller. WIFI network in the room was somehow very weak and had to go to business room in order to get a somehow stable connection. I had two dinners at the hotel, while the one around the swimming pool was ok, the one inside the hotel MarcoPolo I think was dreadful, nothing that was served matched the menu and moreover it was very expensive considering that we were in Cairo. Last challenge was at departure where my instructions were completely ignored by the guy doing check out..
Not a hotel I will be willing to stay at in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by aa1972 This is a hotel I like but.....!
I stay at this hotel since many years and appreciate all the services offered. However, there are things that never improved , for example:
- Reception staff never recognize me as a regular guest ( bellman, HK and restaurant staff do recognize and greet! ... even the shop keepers do)
- upon check in I have always a new profile with no address or other details and have to ask them to use my updated one and it takes always time!
- in general there is a need to improve the attitude and skills of the reception staff!
- telephone operators gave me twice wrong information on opening times of the hair dresser and did not have information on railway connection to Alexandria when I asked. And did not offer to search and help me get the information I need!
- breakfast quality needs some improvement !
In general, I think I will come back to this hotel but hopefully things will improve!

I stay regularly at Le Meridien Heliopolis and can say the service and features of the hotel are very good. Airport transfers and flexibility with early check-ins and late check-outs are also features I enjoy very much as a business traveller, and the hotel staff has been very helpful in this sense.
My only remark is that the hotel should consider implementing wireless wi-fi in the rooms as well.
