Just over a year ago I had a confirmed reservation and when I arrived from Europe they had given away my room - and even had the audacity to say I cancelled. The hotel was overbooked and they could not give a room. So, it was with some intrepedation that I sought to stay there again this week. Same problems - no reservation - I had apparently cancelled a confirmed reservation the hotel was full. Same issue with a colleague. Fortunately a very helpful general manager (Judy) was able to immediately sort out the problem. The SPG room was clean and spacious with all one needs - perfect. Food was quite good. Downside is that it is probably the furthest hotel from the airport and conference amenities so leave time for traffic in rush hours, especially when going to the airport. An OK choice - safe.

Hotel room was scruffy and urgently needs refurbishment. There was no help available to inron my business suits at night for the morning. There was no recognition initially for me being a gold member.

I always enjoy coming back to this hotel. I always get a nice room and the staff welcome me back as an old friend, especially Geraldine on the SPG check in.

I booked on line at one rate but when I reached the hotel the check in charged me 25% more - I complained and he shrugged. I got a better response when checking out.
I stayed on the 1st floor - it is filthy, the carpets are dirty, there are cigarette burns everywhere, the corridor lights are missing.
My room was not serviced on the first day.
There were mosquitoes in the room, no mosquito net supplied.
For this kind of price and a name like Meridien - I expect much much better.
Breakfast service is patchy: poor on first morning, good on second.

The keys I received the first time around, did not work. I had to come down, wait at the check in queue again and be given a new room. This time I was given a room that was exactly the way it was when the last guest left. As a bonus the airconditioning didn't work and stayed that way for my stay inspite of my complaining and a technician coming to take a look at it.
The next morning, at breakfast I had to eat at a dirty table because the staff couldn't be bothered to clean it.
When I book to stay at Le Meridien hotel I expect a basic level of cleanliness and functionality. That trust has unfortunately been breached. I will think twice before booking at a Le Meridien hotel that I am unfamiliar with, in the future.

I'm a platinum SPG guest, and I've traveled a lot in North America, Caribean and Europe. I can honestly say this was my worst stay of them all. The only good thing though, was the cake they made for my son's first birthday when I got there, that was really nice.
But then, after that all went downhill: there was a hot water outage, which meant that we took cold showers for about 2 days, internet outage for a day, towels had to be requested regularly, etc...
I feel like some of the staff is really trying to be helpful and are nice while others clearly couldn't care less.Also the overall condition of the hotel is questionable and I would think they will renovate it soon. Quite frankly, not up to international standards. I do not recommend there unless you really have no other choice.
