On arrival to the hotel the check-in was quite quick which was an improvement from before, got my room key and as soon as I got to the room it did not work, this was a daily occurrrence. The room was clean although no pillow covers on the pillows. During the stay the toilet blocked which wasd reported at 6:30 am and still had not been rectified by 19:00 when I was asked to move rooms at my own effort with no assistance. On the third day at approx 22:15 I attempted to get a bottleof drinking water delivered to my room or if possible I would have picked it up, was clearly told there was NO water available. Having stayed at several Meridien Hotels the hotel in POG could do with a big review from Senior Management as the price you pay does not qualify the service. Dissappointing.

When you are on a long stay at this hotel, I must say that it's not a very pleasant experience to hear the same Cesaria Evora every morning at the restaurant, nor to change rooms every time something stops functioning in your room. But i was told that there is no other better place in POG, so I had to bear with the existing conditions. The food and the varieties for breakfast was alright, so was the laundry service and the receptionists Georgette and Joel who always welcomed me with a smile on their face. And thanks to Florian who was there to meet our complaints and offer a room on the executive floor, it turned out to be a nice stay after all. Thanks for everything!

Rated 3 out of 5 by GODFATHER RESTAURANT NEEDS A COMPLETE CHANGE OF SYSTEM
> Food not good/fresh, specially the fish dishes.
> Staff need to be more friendly and properly
trained for the job they do.
> Menu needs to be changed from time to time.

> Waiting period to much too long when only
1 or 2 diners present .
> No side plates for bread, no salt on the
tables, no proper spoons for cereals on the

Espresso Machine, capuccino is terrible.

We stayed at the hotel where the planes are always delayed and the hotel mess shuts at 2200 hrs. The staff does not understand english, the rooms offered were bad, stinking of paint and not ventillated. I had to request cook to get me something even a piece of bread with cheese. Veg cousine is not available.

Le Meridien in Port Gentil is not a 4 star hotel and I am surprised it is still trading under the Starwood group name however the hotel is better than most others in Gabon but that is a comparison from a very low base level. I did not get an SPG room during my stay although these rooms were available and given to non SPG customers.
