Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor customer service No recognition of my SPG Gold status and preferences at the front desk despite reservation 10 days ago. Curt and irritated response from the staff. Definitely needs improvement. Earlier, the hotel had excellent service and friendly staff, all seem to have been replaced by a totally new team which appear clueless. However, staff at Latest Recipe are excellent, prompt and breakfast was very good and prompt in service. April 16, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by Recent stay in Kochi Staff attentiveness is excellent and cannot be faulted, I do feel that more can be done around the poolside area during days/weekends to make this area more comfortable, that said this is a very minor point and I am glad to say I always feel welcome and at home at this hotel November 12, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Really Good Hotel Hotel has a good ambience and art corridor is something i haven't seen in other hotels and resorts. this property is highly recommendable for families as well as couples. plus:- Ambience, highly responsive staff, spacious bed and bathrooms, and best part is there restaurant superb staff and food. Negative:- Nothing really, could have increased the quality of toiletries. October 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasant experience Nice spacious rooms. I travelled with my family that included my 11 month old baby. Sufficient space for her to walk around and throw things! The lawn, play area for kids and the backwaters provide an ideal setting for relaxation. They've maintained their property neatly and hence contributed to the feel good factor after the stay. Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad Services Door lock was horrible. ..even staff took two hours to repair. Iron & iron board was absent. Was arranged after 2 hours after repeated calls. Room was lying shabby even till next day evening. The house keeping guy came at 5 pm to make up the room,said.. He was busy..Nonsense..I won't stay in your property next time for sure. Rated 1 out of 5 by Staffs Not upto Starwood Standards Recently, I have spent 2 Nights with my Family in Le-meridien Cochin. I was shocked and surprised by the way the Guests were treated at this hotel especially in the restaurant at the lobby level. The Supervisors and Staffs were making fun of the guests and showing faces which were completely annoying. The Reception area was under staffed which lead the guests to wait in long queue for their turns. Overall this is not what we expect from Starwood Hotels. September 8, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Le Meridien Cochin is good I like this hotel as I have been staying here for long. I like the rooms but I am not receiving complete attention. The staff does not seem to be recognize long time customers and treat us as any other customer. Also, I do not like the bathroom as I would love to stay in a better room. Food is very good. I would love to stay in better rooms if possible next time. August 14, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Latest Recipe Restaurant the worst service Myself and my family members of 4 arrived at Le meridian Kochi on 28th July for afternoon lunch. We reached the restaurant Latest Recipe around 01:30pm. We ordered our food of 4 dishes and naan bread. A table beside us who came 10 minutes later than us was given special attention by the head chef a Punjabi man with his turban. Their food started to flow, while we are still waiting for 45 minutes after our food order. inquired the staff on our orders, by this time the chef is busy sending waiters to their table beside us. they are having their main courser by now. all the staff r busy looking after this table of 7. while after 1 hr when our food arrived the table beside us are already having their desserts. since being fed up of waiting for food for so long we asked the waiter how long will it take for a naan bread to be ready he said just give him 5 minutes.. now starts another 15 mins of delay. i really became angry at this. asked for a bottle of water also takes another 10 minutes. All the attention is given on that table of seven. especially special interest taken by the turban chef on that table. rest of us look like we are beggars who came there to eat food under their mercy. I paid the bill and walked off. Really an unpleasant experience so far in my life in a five star hotel. i have spread this news among friends colleagues and family about le meridien. I would like to have an explanation on this issue from the manager not the chef. why is service standard so poor and all attention on 1 table is it because they are the chef's friend? . Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful experience I have stayed 1 week in Le Meridien Kochi and it was nothing but a great experience. Very nice clean hotel, western food as well as Kerala food, nice facilities and very helpful and kind staff. I have also enjoyed full body massage in hotel spa which was amazing. I definitelly recommend this hotel. July 28, 2014

For example ... may be pickup or drop to airport as part of the package instead of guiding me directly to travel desk and the person charged for both ways t airport, i.e. for dropping , they charged double the distance. Rated 5 out of 5 by HOSPITALITY AT ITS BEST I AM VERY PLEASED TO SHARE MY BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE AT LE MERIDIEN KOCHI WHERE I STAYED ON THE 13TH JULY ALONG WITH MY FAMILY. BEGINNING FROM THE CHECK-IN ALL THE WAY THROUGH OUR STAY AND FINALLY CHECK-OUT WE WERE MADE TO FEEL THAT WE ARE A SET OF VERY SPECIAL GUESTS AT YOUR HOTEL EVERYBODY WAS VERY COURTEOUS, WARM AND EQUALLY EFFICIENT. THE FOOD WAS INDEED DELICIOUS WHETHER IT WAS THE ROOM SERVICE OR THE DINNER AND BREAK FAST THAT WE HAD FROM THE RESTAURANT. SPECIAL MENTION NEED TO BE MADE ABOUT MR SANAL, THE DUTY MANAGER, WHO WAS VERY EAGER TO TAKE CARE OF EACH OF OUR NEEDS. July 15, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Had a Relaxing time and enjoyed our stay thoroughly The Hotel Staff were very friendly and proffessional especially Ms Awantika at the front desk and Mr Cyriac at the Restaurant. The property is well maintained and spacious enough for a morning stroll which is sometimes missing in other 5 star properties. Suggestions- 1.A free WiFi access should be considered as there are many (even 3 star) properties providing those facilities. 2.Internet access was not available although it was mentioned on the Hotel Profile. 3.The Cable TV quality was very poor with minimal channels.i was even told the service was through a local Cable Channel provider.Le Meridien should look at provinding individual Set top box ,if not Satellite connection. All in all, our stay was memorable !Thanks to their Service! May 6, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Worst Stay in any five star hotel The hotel had a very good lobby but the Air conditioning was the worst. The staff were co operative and good. The concept of taking us on a boat to the other side and having the rooms in a separate building was a killer feature... To add to it the size of room was a great luxury. But it was made worst by non functioning of the Air conditioning. The bathroom was weird with no curtains the water was all over the bathroom. And it gave a very dirty and unpleasant experience during the time in Bathroom. The furniture was very old fashioned and appeared not upto the mark. The breakfast was below average with no thought going into people who may be veggie... The variety we got was equal or on par with a 2 star hotel. May 1, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Avoid the hotel during functions Happened to stay at the hotel on business trip but there was a wedding function in the lawn. The quality of service was the lowest I experienced at a SPG hotel. Was in the club lounge before the happy hours. I asked for coffee, the staff said the machine was not working. Asked for Nescafé and hot water. Hot water served was light yellow colour! The staff did not even notice it. Later during the happy hour, the used plates were lying around...took a while to clear them. Went down for dinner to the restaurant. Was sitting at the table for almost 20 minutes before someone came and poured water into glass without even asking, and then another 20 minutes for someone to come by and ask what I wanted. I ordered a chicken biryani and it took some time for them to serve. 1 hour 10 minutes in the restaurant with no sight of food I left. Quality of service far far below SPG standards. Rated 3 out of 5 by Suites Not Given - Alternate Accomodation Offered This was my first stay at Le Meridien. The staff was helpful but what was a total disappointment was that no suite was given inspite of an advance paid booking for a Delux Tower Suite. The alternate club room was given and that was smaller than expected. This is regularly done the staff informed me because the suite wing is opened only with minimum occupancy however no prior information is given to the guest nor a compensatory refund. With 2 kids this was my primary requirement for a holiday. The hotel was also under renovation which was a dampner as many facilities were closed. For a professional setup these things should have been mentioned at the time of booking. October 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Blissful experience Le Meridien Kochi was a wonderful experience! The most important factor in a service industry is people, and these guys just nailed it. People's attitude couldn't be better! Right from the time I checked in, I was treated like a valued guest, with utmost courtesy, eagerness to help, and going out of the way to delight the customer. Front desk staff, pool attendant, fitness center trainer, housekeeping guys, restaurant manager; all created a positive impression. Hotel's location is good. serene, quite, not too far from other attractions. They have two buildings and there is a boat transport from one building to another. That gives a bit of backwater experience which was good. Room was quite good, overlooking the pool. All the amenities were in place, bed was comfortable. I was informed at the time of check-in that renovation work is going on, and therefore there may be some disturbance. however I did not feel a thing! Renovation is done in such a professional manner that it does not cause any inconvenience to the guests. Pool is awesome and so relaxing, and so are manicured gardens. Health club is good too, and the trainer helped me de-stress from long flight with some stretching exercises. Steam and sauna was good. Hotel provides complimentary transport to Fort Kochi, which was convenient and ideal for me as I had one day to roam around in the city. Front desk staff extended my check-out time without any fuss, and extended all the facilities (like pool, health club etc.) even after check out till late in the evening. Best part was the dining experience. I was having dinner at the restaurant, and the manager recommended me a good kerala option. Food was delicious, however I encountered a problem which I reported to him. He called chef, and both of them profusely apologized for the issue. Everybody makes mistake, but very few accept the same. They did, and not only that, they made the entire meal complimentary in spite of my insistence on paying for it. Manager also engaged in friendly conversation with me later on. I think this reflects the five star experience and going beyond the usual to offer delightful experience. One thing which I forgot to mention, you can pay almost everything in terms of SPG points. I redeemed SPG points and this was the best value I could have received from my points. Few minor things for improvement; they should have a TV guide in the room. Most of the channels were in local language, and it was difficult to navigate through. Jacuzzi at the pool side was sub-standard. Since hotel renovation is going on, they should try to have a better jacuzzi, with more jets and hot water option. I am certainly going to stay at this hotel in my next trip to Kochi. April 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Expected a better service and quality for Lemeridien name Good facilities, good service, poor TV signal in the room. Surprised there was no satellite TV - mostly malayalam channels on local cable TV. There was confusion during check out as the reception tried to charge me extra for breakfast. Luckily I had a print out of the reservation confirmation voucher and so they agreed not to charge. Still left a bad taste for the unnecessary harassment at the end of the stay. November 16, 2012
