Recently, I have spent 2 Nights with my Family in Le-meridien Cochin. I was shocked and surprised by the way the Guests were treated at this hotel especially in the restaurant at the lobby level. The Supervisors and Staffs were making fun of the guests and showing faces which were completely annoying. The Reception area was under staffed which lead the guests to wait in long queue for their turns. Overall this is not what we expect from Starwood Hotels.

No one is available to welcome you or not an professional Staff at the Counter, need trained and smart staff at reception
Room Service, Food never Comes on time, and when they serve the food mostly it is cold

the room was good but there was a power outage for at least 30 mins and precautions should have been taken for the backup generator to function.

I like this hotel as I have been staying here for long. I like the rooms but I am not receiving complete attention. The staff does not seem to be recognize long time customers and treat us as any other customer. Also, I do not like the bathroom as I would love to stay in a better room. Food is very good. I would love to stay in better rooms if possible next time.

Myself and my family members of 4 arrived at Le meridian Kochi on 28th July for afternoon lunch. We reached the restaurant Latest Recipe around 01:30pm.
We ordered our food of 4 dishes and naan bread. A table beside us who came 10 minutes later than us was given special attention by the head chef a Punjabi man with his turban. Their food started to flow, while we are still waiting for 45 minutes after our food order. inquired the staff on our orders, by this time the chef is busy sending waiters to their table beside us. they are having their main courser by now. all the staff r busy looking after this table of 7. while after 1 hr when our food arrived the table beside us are already having their desserts. since being fed up of waiting for food for so long we asked the waiter how long will it take for a naan bread to be ready he said just give him 5 minutes.. now starts another 15 mins of delay.
i really became angry at this. asked for a bottle of water also takes another 10 minutes. All the attention is given on that table of seven. especially special interest taken by the turban chef on that table. rest of us look like we are beggars who came there to eat food under their mercy. I paid the bill and walked off.
Really an unpleasant experience so far in my life in a five star hotel. i have spread this news among friends colleagues and family about le meridien. I would like to have an explanation on this issue from the manager not the chef. why is service standard so poor and all attention on 1 table is it because they are the chef's friend? .

Happened to stay at the hotel on business trip but there was a wedding function in the lawn. The quality of service was the lowest I experienced at a SPG hotel.
Was in the club lounge before the happy hours. I asked for coffee, the staff said the machine was not working. Asked for Nescafé and hot water. Hot water served was light yellow colour! The staff did not even notice it. Later during the happy hour, the used plates were lying around...took a while to clear them.
Went down for dinner to the restaurant. Was sitting at the table for almost 20 minutes before someone came and poured water into glass without even asking, and then another 20 minutes for someone to come by and ask what I wanted. I ordered a chicken biryani and it took some time for them to serve. 1 hour 10 minutes in the restaurant with no sight of food I left.
Quality of service far far below SPG standards.
