When we booked our stay at the Le Royal Meridien in Chennai, we expected it to be just another Indian hotel. But, to our immense surprise, this hotel turned out to be a gem in disguise. From the almost personalized level of courteous and attentive service to the vast variety of dining choices and informed waiters, this hotel offers immense value for money and leaves you wanting to return at the very next opportunity. What's more, its proximity to the international and domestic airports makes it a hugely convenient choice. After all, getting to a boarding queue in 15 minutes is a miracle when faced with Indian traffic. Whether you're in Chennai for business or pleasure, if convenience and courtesy are what you're looking for, G Sethuraman and his team will ensure those at the Meridien.

Very very old hotel. Wifi not working.
Food so so, will not stay unless they upgrade facility.

I have stayed at this hotel on five visits and highly recommend it to any travelers to Chennai. The Hotel staff is exceptional and always ready to help with any issue.

From Airport pick up to Check in and Check out , we had pleasant experience and comfortable stay. The staff were courteous, prompt and friendly. Food was good. Should compliment staff for making sure that the guests are taken care and making the stay comfortable.
I left my Phone charger in the room. The House-keeping has assured the charger cable was available with them and asked for my address and said they would courier it to my address.

This time the stay was not as comfortable as the last time. There was something very much lacking this time which I am not able to pinpoint at thjis moment. The only thing I know is that i did not have a good sleep. The AC could not be controlled for some reason and the WC was not as functional as it should be.
The saving grace: The food in your multi cuisine restaurant was very good. The foreigner whoc accompanied me for the dinner also appreciated this.

I had a very bitter experience staying in the hotel , The phone calls are not attended after 11pm in the night till 7 am in the morning .. this was my first day of stay and given the feedback the phones where attended the subsequent days, however the emergency dial on the phone also did not get any response and if some one gets a cardiac attack his fate is seal provided he can call some one from outside for rescue. The third day was the most funniest as my room was allocated to another guest too and I am in my towel when a captain open the room with a new key and he was very apologetic as he realized that the same room was given to 2 people . I am not sure if this was a routine messup.
