As a frequent traveler, one thing I always hear from my wife is I should always bring my own towel because hotel towels are bad. I told her that is not the case for SPG hotels or other quality hotels. Unfortunately, the towels I got smelled like vomit. Had it not been for the SPG points, I would had easily changed hotel on the spot. At least the food was good and the pool was nice and warm, but the room and the towels were huge detractions

Rated 4 out of 5 by SimpleCB Great Services
Hotel staffs provide great services and also paying attention to simple matter. One example: I forgot my SPG number and card upon check in. The staff attended to me promotely and continue to allow me to check in to the room and asked me to provide the SPG number later, which I did. Upon checking out, the staff ask whether I still have the SPG card, I said not sure. He gave me a temporary card just in-case I need to check into another SPG hotel on this trip and it will be easier for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ron70 Dated room but great service
Rooms and corridors definitely needed an upgrade. Exposed translucent lights sting your eyes every time you visit the lavatory. Bad design! Shower head needed an upgrade, it was so small and ill suited for a power shower. Room furniture definitely pales in comparison to other Le Meridien hotels in the region. Other than the above, this hotel is perfect. Incredible staff, great location in the middle of Jakarta's business district. Buffet breakfast offers lots of delicious options.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Harry28 Room Service Needs work!
I ordered room service during my stay on 29/5 , simple dishes such as Chicken Caesar salad and a club sandwich, no special requests or modifications. I ordered at 21.47 adn received my dish at 10.25pm, when i was nearly falling asleep. What was interesting ws that the ticket (room service order) was stamped at 22.11. When confronted with this the room service waiter could not of course answer. I will be taking this up on my next visit. A pore finish to an otherwise great hotel.

Whilst i regularly stay at this Hotel it is still most gratifying that I get the recognition of a valued guest being Lifetime Platinum SPG member.
The benefits thereof are always provided to me and more .. and the staff are always welcoming and helpful

Rated 2 out of 5 by Yusuf34 Staffs' attitude need to be improve
When I travel to Jakarta, I usually stay in this hotel. Usually, I have no problems at all with this hotel. However, during my last 2 visits here (especially my last visit), the services were so bad and the staffs' attitude were so arrogant. First, they didn't find my booking confirmation number and they thought and questioned me for about 5 times of whether I just made the booking just before I arrived at the hotel. Secondly, after I checked in, the bell boy just stood there and didn't offer his help to bring my luggage to my room.
Lastly, the guy who checked me in were so arrogant in questioning me during the process of check in and did not recognize the SPG at all. Anyway, I think ...Le Meridien - jakarta should should upgrade their staffs' attitude towards their guests if they want to compete better towards other international chains hotels in the city.

I am a very regular visitor to Jakarta and this property has an old world charm and comfortable feeling just like home. The staff are all excellent and make me feel relaxed after a hard day and meet my needs everytime. The location is also ideal to move around Jakarta. The SPG lounge is great where regulars gather around for a cheer. Head down later to the basement club to chill and groove to live and DJ Music. I really liked the breakfast and lunch buffet spreads

Rated 1 out of 5 by Wende22 Very old furniture and dusty in the cupboard
The suite room is very old. The hotel rooms need a total renovation....
Stayed in the old suite room in the old building. Need to get down to 1st floor then walk over to another lift in new building to get to CLUB lounge. Went up to the CLUB Lounge. All lights in the CLUB lounge are shutoff 10 minutes before the official closing timing.(It should only be shutoff after the official closing time...Poor Service)

Rated 3 out of 5 by KLEddie A little tired
Two problems with the hotel. 1. The hotel is worn out and in need of an update. 2. There were "working girls" roaming the hotel. On two occasions, I was asked by "professionals" in the lobby to assist them by using my room key to activate a floor on the lift so that they could call on clients. My wife was very unimpressed with this, and actually returned to Kuala Lumpur a day ahead of schedule because she disliked the hotel that much. Needs improvement indeed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Akha4000 This hotel boasts the most attentive and responsive staff
I have stayed at le Meridien Jakarta since 1997. Not only has the hotel excelled in quality of foods and beverages, having one of the best Lebanese restaurants in Jakarta as well as my favourite breakfast selection in the main dining room, but in my opinion it also boasts the friendliest and most attentive staff as well. No mean feat in a city where the norm is for super friendliness to foreigners and guests.

I stay three different times at your hotel during my last visit to Jakarta. One morning I had an early flight to Solo and needed to leave the hotel before normal breakfast hours. The staff assisted me in getting a quick breakfast before my driver arrived.
The front desk manager at 5:30 am was also helpful in making necessary arrangements for my stay last night before I flew to China. The entire staff was pleasant and efficient in their responsibilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Matt57 This Hotel is complete for me.
Le Meridien Jakarta has great location and satisfy my overall needs. I love the the size of the building as i don't have to walk far from main entrance to the room especially with heavy shopping bags. The room and all the hotel's common areas are very well maintained, clean and smells nice. The new big LCD TV is a plus point. Good food and friendly service adds up the mood. Congrats to Le Meridien Jakarta. You don't have to be big to be good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dinky Kitsch but it grew on me
When I first arrived at this hotel, my first impression was that it was dated and it seemed so dark with all the dark timber but it grew on me over the four days I had there!
The design is really very Indonesian which is quite unusual for chain hotels that generally have a similar design. This hotel has many things that really are unique like the statues scattered around the hotel! When I first entered the room and saw the statues there, I thought that it'll be a dust trap so every time I entered the room, I ran my finger over it to see if it had been dusted and it definitely had been!
The service was exemplary, especially from the staff in the executive lounge on the 20th floor.
Comfortable, clean and great service! That's what I want from any hotel!
Bathroom was good with plenty of hot water and not at all cramped!
Will definitely stay here again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by manta Dirty bath water and noisy airconditioning system.
I have been to this hotel several times for work, and i can see the hotel is gradually wearing down over the years. This would be my last trip to this hotel.
Bath water is dirty(not the first time i encountered this at le meridien by the way), and air conidtioning cannot be controlled and was very noisy. I was very uncomfortable and thankfully i've got a room at shangri la and changed hotel the very same night.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Prabhuraj This hotel lacks personal touch and warmth.
There is no such thing as guest relationship. Rooms are having a big boring decor. The management it seems is absent in day to day running of the hotel. In other hotels of similar category if I were to stay as frequently as I did here, definitely the General Manager would have met for courtesy at least once and inquired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Peregrin much improved/ excellent staff
Ive stayed here for years; used to be a bit tired, but much improved in terms of rooms (at least the 1 I stayed in) & public spaces. If u can afford it, the club floor offers good value for the money. Overall staff is above average, which can contribute vastly to a successful stay. Location in JKT is always a question, so be sure to check it's not far from where u need to be!

Rated 4 out of 5 by James Great staff, but ageing building
I received a warm welcome, great service and really loved the free wifi. The hotel itself with poor soundproofing, outdated airconditioning controls and fiddly shower was the biggest dissapointment. The morning coffee (this being Indonesia) could be stronger and tastier, but I loved the breakfast buffet and friendly staff. It feels like a group of well intended people making the best of a building in need of renovation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SPG01 Need for customer service and delight
The hotel continues to have issues that remain unaddressed with front desk staff competence and general staff attitude towards its customers.
The breakfast buffet has breadth but is poor in quality of food. I invite the general manager to eat there himself and check out the quality of food they put out there...e.g. Sausages, bacon, pita bread, yoghurt, dim sum and many many other items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cday71 Geat customer service
During my transit through Singapore enroute to Jakarta my luggage didn't make the flight and got left behind by Singapore Airlines. Samuel, one of the concierge staff at the hotel worked with the airline to track my bags down and helped reunite us. All with a smile, great customer service. Now add to that a great location, comfortable bed and good food, what more could a traveller ask for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Leonie42 A truly exceptional hotel for both business and leisure travellers
I particularly loved the excellent coffee available at the Illy Cafe in Le Meriden Hotel's lobby. This coffee and all the international cuisine on offer in the many restaurants on the ground floor were available via the in-room dining service. Very important for the busy corporate traveller. The gym facilities and flexible gym opening hours are also a valuble feature for the busy traveller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Primo1 good location and reasonable value
Le Meridien is on the main road cutting through Jakarta north to South, placed between the well known Bundaran HI (trffic circle.shopping area) and the business district. This road, Jalan Sudirman, is served by the TransJakarta busway.
The cost is still reasonable, in view of comfort (e.g., adequate WI-FI, swimming pool, spa, good breakfast) even if it has gone up in price recently.

Rated 2 out of 5 by kkartik76 The worst stay EVER
Let's just say that this Le-Meridien should not be part of the starwood group. It's giving the franchise a very bad name. The rooms are smelly, carpets are filthy and not to mention the front desk staff- they have NO clue what they are doing. For an intenational hotel the least you can have is people who speak decent english and understand the customer needs. Your taxi service with blue bird is day light robbery.

Rated 4 out of 5 by wtchuah81 Strategically located with a reasonable price
The hotel is located at a strategic location in Central Jakarta which makes it appealing to business travelers like myself. Although the hotel is a little dated, the rooms are clean and the staff were very accomodating. The only thing that didn't work was the LAN cable and the Wireless may sometimes drop out on the 11th floor.

I always enjoy staying at the LeMeridien. The Staff are friendly and do get to know you by name the more you stay. Although dated hotel it is clean and has very good benefits, like the Club Lounge which in the morning serves a very refreshing breakfast with that double-expresso kick, and a bit of relaxing back in the evening with a variety of snacks and a good few refreshments with friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by veronica88 Reservation cancel by hotel staff
I was furious over my reservtion being cancelled by hotel without my knowledge.
I had booked a non smoking room for June 18 using SP voucher.. I had provided my SPG no, the room was confirmed. The day of arrival, I noticed that my resv was gone. What happen ? Apparently someone from SP cancelled my resv, because I did not provide guarantee. This is unacceptable, because the room was cancelled way before 4pm, and I chked the resv on the SPG acc, a day before, last day to cancel was on 17 june. , It was very unprofesional for the hotel staff to cancel my reserv just simply hotel is FULL, and she needed a room for her friend ?? I will be afraid to purcahse any SP voucher next year.
I am a non-smoker, I had to settled for a smoking room, because there was no room left.
I had been staying there for a few times, can't someone contact me ? This type of incident is unacceptable for a reputable hotel chain.
