Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Resort, perfect for a family break. We had a great, relaxing time at the hotel. The room was nice and big (and clean), breakfasts were very good, and there were a lot of very helpful staff. The kids club has plenty of activities and the pools are fantastic. There were also a few times (particularly lunch service) when service was not really up to standard, and the staff seemed a bit lost and often made errors with orders or service, but this did not affect our stay overall. We had a great time.... and would definitely recommend the hotel to our friends. October 29, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by air conditioning. we had a lot of problems with our a/c unit. It was very intermitttent. We finally left a key card in it to keep it going and shared the second card. Npt a big deal. Staff were very helpfull in every way. March 29, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Some improvements needed The overall experience in this hotel is average. Good points of the hotel: The staff is very helpful and friendly. Some of them are very informative. The food quality is good, especially the Favola. Areas of improvement During my stay, the electricity supply of the hotel is down. The light of the room switched on itself (even I switched off the "Master switch") at night for consecutive 2 days. This kept waking me up in the mid-night. It seems that there is nothing we can do when it is raining. Especially when the hotel is short of electricity. (Just wonder if it is possible to have a pool with cover so that we have something to do when it rains heavily) The variety of food is too few. 2 restaurants were closed due to rain, leaving cafe lilawadee the only choice. Rated 3 out of 5 by Great location - food/drink needs improvement Beach is amazing. If you like big sandy beaches, clean, long and no one selling you anything this place is great. One can't complain about the amazing weather and location of the beach. If you are a foodie this location isn't for you. The food and beverage needs much improvement. Lots of buffet evening and bland tasting food. lots of quantity not much quality. The best food we found was down the beach at a local hut. The drinks are pricey and done with little 'love.' Kind of slopped in glasses. Consistency lacks. The place could rise significantly in quality if those two things were properly taken care of. The pools are outstanding. Landscaping it out of a picture book. Lots of kids but you wouldn't notice it as the location is nicely laid out. We went with our 2.5 year old and she loved it. December 28, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by An improvement in food quality will make a big difference Whilst we enjoyed our stay, the room (royal suite was great) and the friendly stafff, we felt the food and beverage was very hit and miss and lets the resort down significantly. Excluding buffet breakfast ( which was good for a buffet breakfast) , the best meal was at Favola closely followed by room service. All other meals were poor ( considering the prices charged) Cocktails were well below an acceptable standard which should not be attributable to the very friendly people serving but the lack of training. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good, was once great, needs its sparkle back This is the second time I have visited the Le Meridien Khao Lak. the last time was 2 years ago. for our visit this time we booked a Pool Villa. on the whole the room and pool were great, thought the Jacuzzi never worked in the pool and our room Air-conditioning needed repairing a few times during our stay. The main room and bathroom though are large with ample space, both need updating. as to the rest of the Hotel, well it looks like it is getting tired. it has lost some of its sparkle and things need repairing or re-painting. The main pool needs lots of work doing to it. I would come back but only in the knowledge that the whole place has had some money spent on it. the staff are friendly and polite though some in the restaurants had little or no knowledge of what they were serving (just down to poor management). Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice Hotel with lot of potential but unfortunatelly there is a big need for renovation everywhere. Prices in restaurants are too expensive. Pool is due to damage dangerous to use. Water quality seems not ok. Garden is not kept as it should. Poolareas are not clean. Beach is not cleaned. I would give a week 4* only. March 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has great features and unexpected friendly service The natural sea beach, wide swiming pool, lots of green area, combination of local and international buffet breakfast and other hotel facilities make this resort the best resort in this region. All the hotel staff specially the reception desk staff very much friendly and cooperative. My special thanks to the hotel general manager Mr. Rudh for his special care to my family and othr guest in the hotel. We could find him in the reception, breakfast and every facilities in the hotel during our stay. September 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A wonderful place for a holiday The Le Meridien Khao Lak is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at and we are experienced travelers having stayed at over 100 Starwood properties alone. The location was stunning, the service exceptional and the pool villa very comfortable. We ate almost entirely at the resort and really enjoyed every meal at the "Baan Thai". "Favola" the Italian restaurant and the beachfront "Bamboo" were also very good but we especially loved the Thai food and developed an addiction to the curried fish cakes. We can't wait to return as the level of care and attention of all staff was very high and genuinely warm. This visit was for our wedding anniversary and I am sure it won't be the last anniversary we will spend here. It was hard to leave which is always a good sign. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Rated 4 out of 5 by reliable experience After a good experience at the Meridien in Phuket a couple of years ago, I also tried the Khao Lak one North of Phuket, a bit remote but great if you are trying to keep away from Phuket agitation. Great beach, architecture, staff. Main disapointements was the italian buffet in terms of value for money, similar problem with the wines, cheap qualities and high prices, but this last issue is a general problem in Thailand and not necessarily specific to one hotel. I would go back anyway April 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful stay at Le Meridien Khao Lak in February 2013 Perfect place to relax within a wonderful tropical garden and its astonishing large pool area. Pleased about the exceptional friendly and service oriented staff: Everyone goes the extra mile. Located at a quiet beach with beautiful palmtrees and rocks nearby. Not good for snorkeling though (we enjoyed a day trip to Similan Islands). Rooms are not in perfect condition, but clean and everything worked, what more do you need. We really enjoyed it and would certainly come back. February 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 Service is slipping I don't know why, but the staff seem less interested in service this trip. Kind of put us off a few times. I think it all comes down to management leadership, or lack of same.In any event, for the kind of money you pay for the privilege of a stay, one certainly expects more. Another mind blower is the fact that almost every budget bungalow and room in Thailand now provides free wifi, but here they want you to pay 240b an hour, or 530b a day, Wow! Can you spell technology?. March 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel had very good facilities but was very tired - rooms need to be updated. As a young family we enjoyed our stay but felt the hotel needed to be renovated as was not up to the 5 star category it advertises. Rooms were very tired and needed a major upgrade as did the pool area and lobby. Staff tried very hard but were not up to standard of major International hotel - felt here was a major language barrier to overcome. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but would not return unless there was some serious money spent on upgrading the facilities. January 11, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by A lot of tiled pool are broke The overall of Le Meridien Khao Lak is look good and comfortable but when we arrived at hotel doesn't have anybody come for greeting or ask us to checking-in and their staff are not smiling when I asked them for checking-in. The worst of our stay at this hotel. When we going to use their beautiful main pool after back from the beach, we was found a lot of tiled pool are broke and feeling unsafe to swimming with our friends. September 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Service Our family stayed at this hotel a few months ago. We asked a late checkout and were accepted till 19:00pm. It was a really great thing!! as we stayed with 84 year old mom... Again, thanks for your kind consideration. However, all restaurants were not opened every day so that we missed "Thai" restaurant...Shuttle bus timetable is not frequent enough.. Anyway, overall a nice hotel and we'd like to visit again in future. November 9, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Dirty room, poorly aging place I used to stay several times in this hotel in the past. Not sure whether the Premium villa are driving the place to bankruptcy ? But my room was over-worn, dirty (seriously - greasy cushions, disgusting bed head lamp, etc...), could never get internet working although we were away the whole day...etc. Reception was a mess, with a serious lack of professionalism. I used to like this place very much, what a big disappointment ! May 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Working staff To noisy around hotell and swimmingpoolarea. Why build a bar when the hotel is nearly full and why use other very noisy gardening machines in the middle of the day when the pool and beacharea is full? Lack of staff around the pool, noone came and asked if we wanted anything to drink or eat in two weeks. The drinks taste awful, and we tried several. Try Hotell Mukdaras bar and drinks, they really live up to a poolbar. December 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our Third Stay Was As Good As The First! As our hotel car pulled up in front the staff was there to welcome us back. My Lifetime Platinum status was recognized by an upgrade to the same lagoon villa we were in last fall. This property has the best deserted beach as far as you can see, without all the hawkers found in and around Phuket beaches. The staff, food, and property make this our ideal beach retreat. Too bad it may no longer be a Starwood!!!!! October 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lush greenery An idyllic setting, well maintained enormous grounds with fabulous beach March 4, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Mixed feelings... Nice hotel, beautiful grounds, very well maintained, but the level of service has somewhat gone down over the years, while prices have gone up. It looks like it is becoming more of a European club-hotel, and a bit less of a high end, exclusive Asian resort. Service is ok. Some staff members gave us exceptional service: the kid's club staff in general, and some of the beach bar staff (in particular Jeans). January 12, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not good stay experience Not good stay experience for following reasons: 1. Always get power/electronic problem with my Room during my stay and when I called the reception 1st time just no any feedback. So I have to call 2nd and 3rd times to get explained 2. The location is really far from any views on the island. And they even don't have free shuttle bus go to the town. They use an outsourcing taxi company and the price charged is not reasonable I mean compared to the service they provide. 3. The bath is dirty. 4. Lots of local staffs at reception...they have very bad English and also not professional at all 5. The restaurant only serve combo meal in the night for certain days so even can't order another soup which is not included in the combo So I was surprised by all this since I have been to other places on tailand and all left me very good memory expct this one. Only I can say the good one is the Spa they have. June 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel's staff connects personally From the front office to the chefs and conference support , the entire staff connects very personally. This was our 3rd visit and we felt at home. The GM Mr.Ruud was present unobtrusively to ensure things were under control. Truly a great leadership style. Special thanks to Khun Mark , Nancy , Alin , Chali and of curse Rajesh the chef and all others who made our stay extremely memorable August 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by World of fairy tales The huge tropical gardens situated directly at a miles long white beach offer a delightful setting. Beautifully designed gardens remind - especially at night - of Aladin's world of fairy tales. Buildings disappear in abundant vegetation. All staff was well trained, courteous and more than friendly. Big rooms, well equipped. Abundant breakfast buffet and excellent meals in all restaurants February 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great place to relax This hotel is really a great place to relax and experience the environment. Sometimes there are problems with few sunbeds on the beach, the sailing euipment is a nighmare and sometime we would have preffered not to have this uninspired live music duo at every evening buffet ... But all in all our stay was really a great experience and we strongly recommend the place! Thank you so much! February 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent location, beautiful beach, friendly staff Friendly atmosphere, really enjoyable stay. Few facilities need an update and rooms outfit a refresh. Very good service by friendly staff February 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Hotel with some defective appearance Old furniture in the room (at least room number 110) Bathtube is discolerd in yellow. The toilet seat, too! It looks like a bit unhygienic. Under the bed is much dust and other dirt. The last cleaning must be a very long time ago. The cleanness in the room and bath is not what I expected by a luxury hotel. During my complete stay the floor under the bed has never been cleaned. The window sill between the bath and the room was also not cleaned. From the first day on, before we checked in that room, there were water markings on the sill. These water markings were still there till we departed. The lampshades were leaning from the day we checked in till the day we departed. Sadly, there is only one german TV channel. By stays in other hotels I have made better experiences in these mentioned points. The hotel facility is on the other hand clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The meal is very good and varied. October 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutky Get Away @ Le Meridien Hhao Lak We stayed for 2 days at Le Meridien Khao Lak. At the hospitable check-in reception,We were told to be free upgraded to premium villa. we were shocked by the amazing view, the room interior is fabulous as well. The resort is really peaceful and relaxed.Everythings are perfect, included 2 complimentary drinks in any bars or restaurants per day. It was amazing vocation. October 27, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Resort Have just had our second stay in two years and once again it was supurb. This time we brought some friends and they loved it just as much as us. Great location, great facilities excellent staff and great atmosphere. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed and serviced and the staff could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. LOVED THE BABY ELEPHANT July 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hosptality All staff, from Manager to room-service, was very friendly and always anxious to help in each belonging. Most excellent service we got in the seafood-restaurant from POY and PLA, many thanks again. February 1, 2014
