Water water everywhere !!! With the private beach on one side and choice of 4 massive pools on the other, this hotel offers all shades of blue. The size of the property allows you private spaces even when its fully occupied. Hundreds of sun loungers dot the length of the pool-sides and beach front. Grassy lawns, shade from the trees and open beach provide as much or little sun as you like. The food options are varied but nothing spectacular. A couple of shacks on the beach provide cheaper fruit and drinks. The gym is quite good, breakfast adequate and views from ocean facing rooms lovely. It is a beautiful tropical oasis of peace not very far (10mins by 100 Baht per ride hotel shuttle) from the madness of the Patong streets. Close by to Karon beaches as well. But once you are in the property you'd rather spend the day here than head to the crowded public beaches.
On the flip side, the hotel is most popular with families with kids, so it does get very quiet after sundown, not much atmosphere at the bar either. Also you may want to step out to try some variety in local food . Patong, then offers a welcome change.
Overall, we'd definitely come back and stay here if we are in Phuket again

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ariko For families with kids
This resort is huge and has so many facilities and activities for children- I've never seen such an impressive kids club in my life.
They have nearly 500 rooms and when it's full, it's full, and you can feel it's crowded everywhere. For singles or couples who are looking for a quiet vacation, that's not the place.
Also, it takes 1 hour drive from the airport to the hotel which is long and tiring after any kind of flight to Thailand.
However, as I wrote in the beginning, for the kids, it's heaven, so I'd definitely recommend this hotel for families traveling to Thailand with special attention to kids and activities.

Words can't describe this resort!! This was the first ever visit for my partner and I to Asia and the Le Meridien never disappointed us from beginning to end. We booked the hotel car (Toyota Camry) to meet us once we arrived at Phuket Airport. Highly recommend guests to utilize this service since it's hassle free and the driver is holding a sign with my name on it. So nice since there were chilled towels and bottled water in the car waiting for us.
The airport is about a one hour driver to the resort. Mind you, we had been traveling for over 24 hours and we arrived at the resort around 930AM. We were greeted by Luis at the front desk and he promptly checked us in. He acknowledged our Starwood status and made sure that all of our room preferences were met. He gave us an excellent room (ocean view, high floor and non connecting). However, the room wouldn't be ready for an hour and a half which we were bummed but he offered us to eat at the breakfast buffet while we waited for our room. He personally escorted us to the restaurant and made sure we were well taken care of. After about an hour we headed back to the lobby and a lovely lady escorted us to our room.
We had room 640 in the Chaba wing and this room blew us away!! Ocean view and the bed was so comfy! Lots of closet space and the shower alone was amazing with a huge rain shower head. Lovely bath amenities as well. The A/C is strong and the bedside control panel was extremely convenient. There's turndown service every night and you're given 8 bottles of water throughout the day which is a nice touch!
We had the half board package which included breakfast buffet daily and dinner at any of the 9 restaurants on site. The buffet was over the top with lots of choices (Western, Chinese, Japanese, Indian dishes) fresh fruit and pastries. For dinner we ate at practically a different restaurant every night and none disappointed. They were all good!! We especially loved Wang Warin, Ariake, Latest Recipe and Portofino. We did happy hour practically every night at Le Patong Pub and even though it was empty the lovely lady behind the bar was so friendly and warm! There's a small shopping arcade on site as well.
The pools and beach were very nice too. A secluded beach that is super clean and not crowded as well. There's numerous pools and chairs and it never felt crowded. The fitness centre had all the latest machines and was a nice place to work out. We did the spa 3 separate times during our weeklong stay and it was such a treat! Professional and friendly ladies!
Our week flew by and we were so sad to leave! Every staff member there went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. I absolutely cannot wait to come back to the Le Meridien. It's THE only place to stay in Phuket in my mind.

The wonderful staff make this resort a joy. I've rarely had such excellent and friendly service when traveling, and it made all the difference.
The gorgeous beach and well-maintained facilities are also worth mentioning, but but the people here are really what make this location stand out.

Many years that my wife and I spent our winter vacations at "Le Meridien" in Phuket and each year we find great improvements in this Hotel.
First let me say again, I have said this in the years past, this hotel has become our second home: the Management. the entire Staff ( specially Pepsi and Gick) are just incredibly professional and warm at the same time that make you feel like "family" and not just a guest. Compliments also for the restauration, Carmelo at " The Portofino" brought all thrue sicilian flawors!

First time visiting this hotel and phuket. The airport ride to the hotel is about 1 to 1.5 hrs. The rooms were recently remodeled and had a very modern and comfortable layout. As a platinum with suite nights, I was given a jr suite and breakfast at the hotel. The Thai restaurant at the hotel was very mediocre but the breakfast was pretty nice. The entire hotel is set up in a resort style setting where you have great views of the large pools and ocean. Only minor negative was that I had requested 4pm check out multiple times and upon check in and the night before check out they kept saying i needed to leave by 2. Other than this, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Oh one added bonus for them: If you went on a tour or had to miss breakfast they actually can set up a lunch box for you with food, snacks and drink which i thought was very thoughtful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FellowHuman Superbly well-managed resort
The short version: Stellar service, great suites, expansive facilities, diverse activities, great beach, and OK restaurants.
The best thing about this property is the management and the high standard of service. We were very impressed with the service provided from beginning to end. To run such a large resort with such a high level of quality and consistency is quite a feat.
We were also very impressed with the SPG manager, who provided us with a very warm welcome and a delightful Platinum suite upgrade that really made our stay something special and memorable.
Our Oceanfront Suite was spacious and well designed and was perfect for relaxing indoors during the hot afternoon hours.
As for the rest of the resort facilities, they are ample and very well maintained. We found the aesthetics to be a little too institutional for our tastes (we prefer warmer and more natural materials rather than concrete), but acceptable.
The resort's private beach is excellent and the swimming is good — though there is a stinging sensation one gets in the ocean water, as is the case all over Phuket, so we did most of our swimming in the huge pools.
We also enjoyed the many activities available: archery, mini golf, beach volleyball, sauna, and more.
There was only one area that was a bit disappointing for us, which was the restaurants. There were only a few dishes that we could eat in the resort's several restaurants. We follow a healthy diet (emphasizing fresh green foods, with no animal products), but we found all the hotel restaurants to be highly focused on meat and dairy products. There were only a few dishes that were appealing enough for us to want to dine in the restaurants, so we wound up needing to go out for most of our meals. We request that the resort's chefs take into consideration the growing trend of health-conscious eating by offering a greater variety of vegetarian and vegan items. It would be great to have a salad bar, too.
Overall, we had a great experience, and we hope to return again.
