Rated 5 out of 5 by More than we expected! We came spur of the moment, I booked the hotel the day before we came and everyone I spoke to on the phone was wonderful. We had a pet with us so that narrows our options and they happily welcome pets! We were traveling with our 8 month old and everyone was so kind to us. The entire hotel is spotless, the bar/restaurant upstairs is beautiful, the spa is perfect for relaxation and the proximity to downtown is perfect! A quick 10 minute walk downtown but most importantly, it's right next to the beautiful Alster lake! Thank you so much le meridien! We will be back! March 6, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location, business friendly Great location next to Alster Lake especially if you enjoy running. The breakfast was second-to-none and worth the package. I have been to this hotel twice and all the rooms are quite spacious. Excellent service that is fast and not over-attentive as to bother the guests. Probably better for businessmen and tourists without children. November 8, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great location but let down by room condition. This hotel is in a great location close to town and the train station. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food and drinks are great. However, I was disappointed in the lack of cleanliness in my room. The mattress smelled musty and the pillows were far too soft. I asked and was given more pillows but these too were too soft. The carpet and floor around the edges of the room and behind the free standing bath were dusty and obviously had not been cleaned for some time. The general decor of the hotel and rooms is modern but the plain walls and wood fittings were marked and scuffed in all areas and made it look like a two or three star hotel. The concierge desk was not always manned and I only ever saw a doorman once in my three day stay so had to call for taxis and find information out for myself. There is a new building being constructed next door and there was a lot of building noise and drilling first thing in the morning from 7am just as I was getting up. I would return to the hotel for the location and staff but the condition and cleanliness needs to be addressed as it certainly doesn't match the brand promise. August 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic Le Méridien This is a classy hotel just off the Lake in a neighborhood setting not far from the heart of Hamburg. It is very well maintained and full featured except it lacks a club lounge. Parking is expensive (€24) for its location and you can leave the car on the street nearby for low cost or free. The breakfast buffet is a good choice for the platinum amenity but it's pricey otherwise. There are great meal options a block or so away, including Frau Mouller. Platinum also received a nice junior suite upgrade though no view of the lake. Service was exceptional all around, but it should be for the price. Though no other spg properties are currently in Hamburg, I would definitely return to stay again. July 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice view from the rooftop The view from the roof terrace is very nice. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. Within 45 minutes you're at Karolinen-Viertel or St. Pauli. However he receptionist did not know what "spg" means (she had only started 2 days prior) and although I had called the hotel prior to our arrival to inform them, the bed was not fit for a 2 m person, so sleep was very uncomfortable as they were unable to fix it. Apart from a few delightful and kind people, staff was terribly unfriendly and not helpful. The construction site next to the hotel also did not ensure we were thrilled about the whole experience.
